Compare it to war. Both Walt and Tony choose to enter worlds that are inherently morally compromising. This is where the bulk of criticism belongs. Not calling the things either did right by a long shot, but you can't give them a pass for throwing themselves into kill-or-be-killed environments only to turn around and bash them for killing. Such is the nature of their respective beasts. What, were they supposed to roll over and die submissive deaths? Death being the only other alternative to many of Walt and Tony's "sociopathic" crimes.

Except I rooted for Tony until the end and I will likely root for Walt to the bitter end. Also Tony is worse than Walt, but both are angels compared to the witch that is Skylark.

I didn't say everyone feels that way, just that I believe that was part of the intention of these shows.

Chase wanted you to root for Tony by the end of the show.

Gilligan wanted you to root against Walt by the end of the show.

Not everyone will do so, of course.

My theory:
Hank won't die- instead he'll lose his cushy job with the DEA after everyone finds out about Walt. Kind of like how the last chief lost his job because he was friends with Fring.

I am both very happy and very sad that Breaking Bad is getting soprano comparisons. It's almost over after all these years =(

How long do you think it will be before gilligans next show? Weiner moved pretty quickly from Sopranos to Mad Men

We need to start a NeoGaf ricin pool. Jesse thinks they got rid of it so even he wouldn't see it coming. Lydia already dodged that bullet so she's safe.

I'm going to make a very cheap prediction here. I'm so very sorry in advance:

The Breaking Bad finale will be better received than The Sopranos finale. Well, at least initially.

My original theory for how things were gonna go down was shot after watching the comic-con footage of the cold open for the upcoming episode.

SPOILERS for cold opening of next episode
Walt returns to his old house, now a derelict with Heisenberg graffiti all over, to retrieve the ricin pellet from the electrical socket.

I'm very, very intrigued to see how they're gonna get this to work.

Jesse definitely knows Walt could easily make more of it. I think that's why Jesse was so scared to see Walt again. He knows Walt is more devious than trying to come at Jesse with gun drawn. Lydia also can probably safely assume Walt could do something like that. She might let her natural paranoia alter her behavior to work around it, too.

Hank knows Walt could do something like that but he still probably wouldn't see it coming. Skyler wouldn't see it coming. Todd probably wouldn't see it coming, though maybe, he does understand how good of a chemist Walt is, on some level of understanding I guess. Saul would probably see it coming since he knows about
Walt poisoning the kid
, though he still might get it in the end. Walt Jr and Holly definitely wouldn't see it coming :|

Naw, he'll help bury it all. He'll become the new Mike. Nothing stops this train!

Hank getting ricin'd is almost too predictable so I'll say Jr gets a hold of it somehow(maybe in a cig meant for Skyler.)

Or hell, Walt might just swallow it himself before going on an M60 rampage.

From the last thread
jr. scores weed

jr. needs a place in the house to hide his stash

thinks of the one place his parents won't bother to even consider, the power outlet in parents' bedroom

jr. opens the power outlet

d- dad does cocaine? d- dayum!

jr. takes a snort of ''cocaine''

jr. dies

No one has brought more hapiness to the Breaking Bad universe than Wendy with her everlasting bottle of Listerine.

The final episodes are coming.
The best NFL team ever about to take the field for pre-season training.
Time to smug up.

Or the ricin inexplicably cures his cerebral palsy and Walt now has a legal way to rival Gray Matter.
Perfect. Grey Matter is worth billions from what Walt said to Jesse. Walt's drug money is only in the millions, so it wouldn't surprise me if he tried something like this to surpass them.

But the Packers already had their scrimmage.

man I know people were talking about this recently but it's worth restating: skyler is so heart-wrenchingly perfect in Fifty-One. Registers every note of hopeless terror and guilt necessary while still tenaciously trying to protect her family. All while Walt chases her around the room like a fucking monster. I love that at the end he thinks "the person who gave me this watch wanted to kill me, they changed their mind you will too" is the right thing to say to Skyler, whose main concern is that Walt's actions mean they could soon be put in danger. "Oh, you're worried someone would want to kill us soon? Well this guy wanted to kill me just a little bit ago, and now he doesn't! See how safe we are"
Also that guilt is key. yes, Skyler is complicit now. But she was backed into a corner and goes through psychological trauma because of how shitty she feels about what she's doing. walt does it all voluntarily, then hops into bed and asks for chocolate cake

and ditto to earlier when people were praising Hank and Marie– best relationship. love those two in the car on the way to Walt's birthday and then at the door when they get there.
Yeah, but like a crazy amount of remission, like, wgafiggmm* remission
wgafiggmm is the Walter White motto

The first scene with Lydia is pretty bad but she is one of the best parts of this season. The scene with her shutting the blinds and screaming into a pillow needs to made into a gif if it hasn't been already.

When will this ep show up on iTunes or amazon?

Yes, the episodes show up on iTunes the day after they air.

I assume you mean the scene with her and Mike cuz the first scene she is in the police meeting with her company.

I love the scene with Mike. She acting like a total fool and completely scared and unsure of what she is doing came off great, I think.

What's everyone's favorite bit of music from this series? The creators have got great taste when it comes to their choices. This show has introduced me to such great songs.

Has probably been mentioned but after rewatching the earlier seasons I realized how Vince mimicked the revelation of Hank finding out Walt had cancer to how he discovers he's Hiesenberg. Pretty cool.

The original music composed for the show is great too, especially the track that plays when Walt is laughing in the crawlspace.

Definitely 'Black'. The song playing during the "Stay out of my territory" scene was great as well.
