I'll wait for confirmation, cause we have been burned by the Dirtsheets before. IMO, this is the type of sale that you do out of spite. Just to watch the company burn.

edit:
WWE was, is and has always been (Then, now forever? lol) and American owned company. Hell McMahon has pushed red, white, and blue as one of the staples of WWE's image. So all of this is pretty shocking to swallow regardless of what anyone thinks of Vince, or in that case the McMahon family as a whole.

I know there are many people who are hoping that when Microsoft buys Blizzard it will crush the rampant sexual misconduct the employees have alleged. Perhaps Saudi Arabia can help WWE fix the same problem.

It's funny the WWE, one of the most white trash red neck hooddinks ever might get sold to Saudis . The WWE will be dead here in 5 years once that happens. It's going to alienate much of their fanbase. Lol imagine then doing a support the troops show now, that would be glorious.

Considering how Steph left, she might feel inclined to agree with you.

Thats the part that gives me a lot of pause in taking these news at face value.

NOOOOOOOOOO I threw caution to the wind when I made this thread. Now I need it to happen.
CNBC is throwing shade directly at you OP!

On a personal note, I really hope that this Saudi sale reporting is incorrect because if it is indeed true, Sammi Zayn is gone and he easily was a highlight for WWE for the past year or hell, even the past two years.

Sammi and the Uso storyline is pretty good. I think he would be a big get for AEW if the Saudis did buy WWE.

The more I think about it.. The less credibility I give the idea of selling to the Saudis.. The amount of vitriol coming from the majority of the fanbase along with the revolt from probably the entire womans division along with a good chunk of the male wrestlers would make the company unmanageable.

WWE has bleed "Red, white and blue" for decades, just to turn around and sell it to a Saudi fund? I don't buy it.. The only news tidbit that gives this whole Saudi angle any weight is that Steph stepped down from CO-CEO yesterday. Which could just have been a move to clear the way for a better structured board as they look to sell.

edit:
Personally as a wrestling fan for over 35 years, I would stop watching WWE if it was sold to the Saudis. I am a huge fan of the talent, and most of the people that work there. I just can't bring myself to support a wholly owned Saudi business.

Not a fan of WWE but also not going to hate...well I guess I hate the establishment because they treat their talent like shit.
Outside of that, if true, this is very shit, fuck this shit.
Pure greed intersects with the sportswashing money of a tyrant state.
I hope Vince gets Khashoggi'd in Minecraft.

Well I guess it's better than Tencent, or Microsoft. Curious to see what happens to the divas roster once this goes through.

He was forced to step down from rape allegations and went off to plot his revenge. He forced himself back on the board on January 6th and selling to the shithole Saudis for billions would be a hilarious last laugh.

I think this idea was "leaked" to see what backlash would be like from fans but more importantly-the TALENT. They're the ones that ultimately are behind
the multi-billion dollar success and if a huge majority of the roster(probably nearly all the women and many, many male talent) decide to quit/leave rather
than work for the Saudis, what value is the actually company at that point?

As some others have mentioned, I can see most if not all the women's roster quitting and quite a few male talent following them. McMahon would literally
be the only winner in selling to the Saudis.

And if you're the Saudis, you probably want guarantees that up to half or more of your talent roster won't quit on the spot. Good luck trying to get those guarantees.

This is a poker game and I wouldn't expect a sale quickly at all.

Finally, you have to look at who exactly has between 5-10 billion dollars to actually buy the company.

Besides investment firms, you probably have Disney, Apple, Google, Amazon, Netflix and another handful or less with that kind of cash to acquire WWE.

I know it was years ago, but Disney bought Star Wars for a bit over 4 billions dollars. I just can't see Disney buying WWE for a penny over 4 billion(at most) and
of course that's factoring in inflation, etc.

But ok I'm rambling. Should be interesting.

Fox is the only buyer that makes sense to me. WWE would fit perfectly in the Fox Sports portfolio and they would do a phenomenal job with the promotion and production values.
