WTF?
I have no nvideaThere's no way this is real.
It's the new uk law, you need to use your ID which then goes through ai analysis. It's a cyber security nightmare tho, some things you will be able to bypass with vpn's, kids are getting around a lot of them using fortnight, ai generated images or death stranding (some systems have you take 2 photos, one with your mouth closed on open)…this is resulting in more requiring your passport or actual id held up near your face etc.Age verification often not hard to bypassed, is it harder now?
They removed the requirement, but you still can do it.There's no sign in to the nvidia app though? There used to be but they removed it.
As a german who is looking for possible alternative options if the downwards Trend doesnt stop, poland is pretty high on the List.Thank god this Act is saving children from being able to watch pornography tho *presses one button in Proton VPN and then googles extreme porn* oh no wait it hasn't, its complete garbage and a waste of time.
The people that passed this law must know that kids know what a VPN is right? Fuck all this, I'm moving somewhere else once I sell my flat next year.
Where's nice to live and without shite like this?
Seems awful way to live there nowadays... In my place security is not problem, but again, this situation will not stay, maybe someday it will be better, or worst : /It's the new uk law, you need to use your ID which then goes through ai analysis. It's a completely fractured non centralised system, with many many companies accross diverse industries being forced to conform, either with their own solutions or via a myriad of third party providers, any of which are vulnerable to hacking, or mistakes (such as the tea app debacle, tho they weren't forced into compliance by the uk gov, they just did it to verify users were women…still it ended up with countless peoples ID's and addresses being leaked). Whole thing will be a treasure trove for hackers, cyber criminals, blackmailers and identity thieves. It doesn't even protect the people it was supposedly intended to protect. It has however been used immediately for political censorship.
It's a wildly stupid, terribly thought out law.
MP's are aware how dangerous it is, hence so many now expensing VPNs to their taxpayer…meanwhile other MPs are discussing banning VPN's.
There's also a certain irony in that the government is pushing to all 16yr olds to vote, whilst also saying they aren't grown up enough to engage with a myriad of political topics which are now banned/censored unless you can prove your over 18
It's one big mess. It has quite a lot of public support at the moment because it's sold as "won't somebody think of the children". That'll likely change the moment there's a massive data breach. Both Farage's reform and libdems have come out against it, reform will repeal it. They were already polling higher than any other party, so all this is doing is ensuring a win for right wing populists either in 3 years, or less of the government collapses (which given recent British political tenures is highly likely).
Peeps on Reddit are saying this has been exaggerated, and it's because the user is attempting to start Geforce Now, which would, technically, be subject to the age verification rules.
Nah they did it because it was a common complaint, and AMD had (at the time) better driver software that didn't require log-in.Yep, nvidia app doesn't require log in. They probably predicted this shit and that's why removed it, hahaha.
Or maybe we can find a middle ground between Land of the FREEEEE and Won't someone please think of the children? Can we just ban the UK instead?
lol, wtf. I could browse it no problem, so UK thing only.I couldn't even browse the whisky subreddit yday. Although I have been cured of drinking whisky today.
It's ok, next we can make VPN usage a criminal offense and save the children once and for all!Thank god this Act is saving children from being able to watch pornography tho *presses one button in Proton VPN and then googles extreme porn* oh no wait it hasn't, its complete garbage and a waste of time.
