Breath of the Wild is the official subtitle for Zelda U/NX, first gameplay trailer

So excited. Like some other users mentioned here, I hope they make the enemies & environment feel dangerous. Still, I already saw 5 different weapons (Spear, Regular Sword, Curved Sword, Bow & Arrow, Axe). Hope they keep exploring more combat options.

I'm already sold though, can´t wait to see more.

OoT was one of the most intense gaming XP i ever had. MM was superb as well.

I wonder why knew 3D-entries don´t click for me.

Trailer doesn´t provide interest and hype as i wanted it to.

I´m getting old or something.

I hate how empty it is.

It being Wyoming.

AMAZING! What a world. Looks like it has tons of gameplay mechanics. Link has a magnet which can levitate metal. He has an ice rod. He seems to change clothes. Has different weapons. So awesome.

The trailer has a few weird editing issues, but aside from that the game looks pretty. I share concerns about the open world but we'll see how it goes and what they do with it.

Looks like this Hyrule is either very far in the past or very far in the future?

Link wears armour at one point. So... no green tunic? Not that I'm complaining - the blue tunic shown so far looks great.

Can't agree with this at all. It's exactly the opposite for me.

Pretty sure this game will be a fresh breath on open world games.

But I don't doubt that at all. I can't wait to see Nintendo's take on it. It's going to be Day 1 to me. But the trailer showed a lot of empty areas with low poly geometry and vast spaces with barely any NPC or other environmental detail. It's all very pretty, but it feels all very designed around the hardware limitations.

Can't wait to replay this in a few years on the WiiU emulator with a bigger resolution as well.

hmmm, the world looks barren :(

Yeah...I'm not as blown away as everyone else. So far, the game looks really hollow and empty. I had a really hard time getting into Twilight Princess because of how empty Hyrule felt, and this is just doubling-down on that.

I love the art style and colour, but...there's just, hardly anything going on onscreen. I want a more luscious world to sink my teeth into.

I think people are just tired of Nintendo games being several years behind the curve in visual fidelity.

Absolutely. Especially with Zelda games. Zelda deserves much better hardware imo.
This game looks good for a WiiU game, but it allready looks so empty and lifeless compared to games i have played the last two years.
Not even speaking of the shimmering, jaggies, flickering shadows, low res textures, etc.

Wind Waker is 60fps on Wii U. Not sure why what we have seen here seems impossible in 60fps on Wii U ? I mean, look at Bayonetta 2. Much more going on on screen, and still 60fps.

Bayonetta isn't 60fps on Wii U and the genres are worlds apart. There's zero change of it being 60fps.

Ok I'm pretty sure Link's female this time :)

Asked a friend that cares not for Zelda and she thinks the person in the picture is a girl because of: boobs, lashes, feminine jaw.

I think that is a girl because of the collar bone.
I know guys have collar bones too but it seems like showing collar bone is a very feminine thing

The game looks absolutely beautiful. Need to see more of the gameplay but this might finally surpass Wind Waker as the best looking game of all time.

So how many of us are feeling cripplingly disappointed?

*raises hand*

A little. The trailer did very little for me. I want to see them show off some gameplay though. I want to see how the game plays naturally because the trailer just feels so barren.

Having the world be the enemy is exciting to me. I liked them showing wild life and environments.

Not worried about enemies not showing up. Stupidly excited.

wind waker is a gcn game and bayonetta 2 is much more linear and is "60fps" not actually 60fps

edit: wwhd isn't even 60fps

Not sold on naming Link and possibly making him a real character, but I'm all for it if that's the direction Nintendo is taking.

Gotta say, I'm incredibly relieved they didn't cave under the internet pressure asking for a gender swapped Link. Starting to really feel hyped now.

It's shopped, dude.

Holy crap, I'm not a 3D Zelda guy but that was freakng awesome! A team ico vibe imo.

OT: I am posting this on wifi from a freaking aeroplane right now, aren't the times we live in wonderful :)

Took a few pics from the trailer: http://imgur.com/a/UZ8Fs

You can see a comparison of the visible equipment. It looks very good. There are clearly armor "sets", and even with the same tops there are scenes with different pants and boots. Mmmmmm.

This shit is getting old now. Girl because of collar bones? Stop.

Man, that trailer was amazing.

The music was outstanding, the game looks great and the art direction heavily reminds me of Ico/Shadow of the Colissus. Can't wait to see more of the game when Nintendo starts showing more gameplay off.
