I acknowledge that this is a guy but this is a very feminine looking shirt. I could easily see FemLink wearing this.

Wind Waker is 60fps on Wii U. Not sure why what we have seen here seems impossible in 60fps on Wii U ? I mean, look at Bayonetta 2. Much more going on on screen, and still 60fps.
Wind Waker HD is 30fps with dips. Bayo 2 tries to be 60fps, but also has lots of framerate drops. Pretty positive this will be like WWHD.

Absolutely. Especially with Zelda games. Zelda deserves much better hardware imo.
This game looks good for a WiiU game, but it allready looks so empty and lifeless compared to games i have played the last two years.
Not even speaking of the shimmering, jaggies, flickering shadows, low res textures, etc.

"This game trailer made to convey the vast wilderness of the fields of untamed Hyrule without any gameplay shown is so fucking empty and I played games before and I don't need to see the whole stream dedicated to playing it."

I'm... mixed on this? Looks pretty (I wonder what the NX version will look like?) but... I don't know if I want the open-worldification of Zelda. I'm hoping there are no skill trees, upgrade tokens or any of that bullshit.

Hope it's not as desolated as it seems.

The mechanics looks fun, and the music was sublime, but the art direction feels sometimes off (like the horse sneak scene, that grass was a plaster of green.)

I don't mind it at all. My favourite open world game is SotC precisely because of the "emptiness" which in fact isn't emptiness at all, it's called focus. Focus in important things. Modern open world games are full of useless filler in both the game world and game systems. Keep that as far away from zelda as possible.

Problem: People enjoy hiking, very few people enjoy hiking simulators.

I thought Firewatch was pretty cool.

Thank you.

Well the point of this game it seems is to be able to see the whole world at once, they're pushing the draw distance to the limit I'd imagine.

They need to hurry up with the game play stream need to know if those are crafting elements or just combat / platforming abilities. Cooking minigame I think might be done on gamepad. Wow looks amazing.

RE: The emptyness.

Feels like they are going for a wilderness kind of approach for this game (it's in the title). There seems to be plenty of wildlife, but not a whole lot of humans. Compare to an open world game like Skyrim or the Witcher, where there are settlements everywhere, this seems to be more focused on exploring nature. I'm sure there are towns and cities, but not everywhere. Looks like there's a lot of ways to interact with the environment, though, so I don't think I'd classify that as "empty". It's just not filled with people to talk to. At least, we haven't seen any yet.

Absolutely beautiful. It baffles me to think that anyone believes this isn't a beautiful-looking game. My only hang-up in the graphics are those wonky-ass trees. Paper Mario style leaves fell off when he pushed over that tree to make a bridge.

But I can get over lame trees. The voice acting still sort of bothers me. It just sounds so incredibly lame. That's probably just a me-thing, but I really thought it sounded terrible. I'm not a fan of voice acting in most games, though.

Pretty neat. Some things that caught my interest:

  • Link can now use more than just a (straight) sword as his primary weapon. He's got a spear, an axe, and some weird curved sword now, so I'm guessing that certain weapons are going to be more effective against certain types of enemies.
  • New outfits and armor, which seems to hint towards customization?
  • The overworld seems to have more environmental puzzles in it now. For example, Link using his axe to chop down a tree and make a small bridge.
  • The world isn't just big, it's also tall. Seems they took a note from Monolith Soft on this one, and I'm really glad they did. Link's climbing abilities will definitely be put to use in this game.
  • There's a fairly big emphasis on hunting, fishing, and cooking. Hopefully it's not too big of a focus though.
  • The book/tablet may be a multipurpose tool. It created an ice block, created a magnet, and opened up the door to what may be a dungeon. It may end up being the way Link gets new "items" throughout his journey. Might be a way to better explain Link's four-dimensional pocket.

Hopefully Treehouse shows off some dungeon gameplay soon. Would love to see a dungeon and a boss.
