Breath of the Wild is the official subtitle for Zelda U/NX, first gameplay trailer

Looks fucking awesome, I've been waiting for this trailer for years.

But at this point, I wish they would have just bit the bullet and moved this as an exclusive NX launch title, so they could really take the visuals to the next level and not be limited by the Wii U. 2 years ago, I wouldn't have said this, but now? Seems like it would have been the better move, and got their next console to an amazing start with a must buy title, not to mention having a more impressive game not limited by this hardware.

I'm not going to disagree. I'd like to see how they're going to improve this for NX.

At 2:12 in the trailer Link jumps from flat ground and then jumps again in the air. I hope you can actually jump in the game.

Yeah, it's a super vague and lazy criticism. People saying that really need to back it up with words cause right now it just reads like "I can't see the minimap with waypoints and collectables and repetitive activities everywhere."

Again. It seems like a barren empty world. Not filled with detail or life.
I hope i'm wrong. Because Reggy is talking about a lush world full of life.

We monster hunter now!
Anyway, I loved it, specially the music! This is one of the games I bought this console for, so deliver it to me Nintendo!

It would be easy to give Female Link a bathing suit if the option exists

let it go

I think it's time to give it up. The option was never promised. It was something fans wnated. It would have been nice. I wanted it. But it's not going to happen. The Devs would have highlighted that feature if it was. Female Link is not happening this game.

Looks great!

Im fine with lots of open space as long as there is plenty to discover, which I think will be the case.

So much grass to cut!

The only disappointment I had was that they still have that little pause when you hit someone with the sword. That needs to go away but everything else looked so good.

Guessing those creatures once destroyed the land.

It's like a ghibli shadow of the colossus in terms of the environment. Exactly what I wanted Can't wait till they show off more.

It's edited with red cheeks and eyelashes :lol.

Lol, I knew that part didn't make sense. Wasn't sure what was going on with the face.

I think at least off of this forum, more people will be happy if Link stays defined than if he becomes an avatar with options for gender.

"Open your eyes" and "Wake up" are some reincarnation level Manchurian Candidate trigger word craziness right there.

It's probably just the start of the game. Link being lazy is a trope. Since LTTP most Zelda games start in with Link in bed or sleeping. It was in Link's awakening, OOT, Wind Waker and skyward sword too.

We can see a few NPCs in the trailer, including an woodcutter near Link when he's chopping down that tree. I don't think we're going to see tons of NPCs out in the wild, but then it's pretty standard in open-world games for friendly NPCs to stick to towns while the field is relatively barren (except for enemies).

Its ok as it is, they were not going to impress by making a rushed launch game anyways.

I'm assuming it has dungeons, so I reserve judgement until getting the full picture. But it appears Link can jump at will. It'll be interesting to see if and how designs adapt.

Temple of Time in the foreground, is what's circled the ruins of Hyrule Town Market? There's a small circle in the center that looks like it could have been the fountain maybe?

Arrow is new Hyrule Castle placement.

Looks great! Assuming it's actually open and interactive (chopping trees) then I'm on it. Did Link have a totem activating smartphone? Lol.
