Far-right American news site Breitbart has left readers baffled after seemingly mistaking footballer Lukas Podolski for a jet-ski gangster ferrying migrants into Spain.

The website welcomed its former editor Steve Bannon back into the fold on Friday after he was dismissed by Donald Trump as Chief Strategist.

But the apparent picture gaffe appeared soon after and has since been shared around the globe.

The article, titled ‘Spanish Police crack gang moving migrants on jet-skis’, is accompanied by an uncaptioned image of ex-Arsenal striker Podolski on the back of a jet-ski making a peace sign.

Weird how often the real news sites like Breitbart and infowars that our president relies on for news seem to make these innocent mistakes.

Did the article actually reference the photo, or was it just an unrelated photo they pulled up?

Because I don't understand any of this. You see a guy posing for a photo, wearing clean & fashionable clothes, and you think they're a migrant? Or you think he's the 'gangster' ferrying migrants, so is the dude driving the jet-ski supposed to be the migrant? In that case the migrant is ferrying the gangster.

What?

They probably just googled a picture of someone riding a jet-ski and called it a wrap. You know high-class journalismn and stuff.

That's what it seems like. But the linked article is implying mistaken identity, instead of laziness when finding an image of a jet-ski.

Grounds for a lawsuit? Would be fun to have Breitbart be accountable for their bullshit once.

To sue you have to show that you have suffered damages. Thats why every lawsuit has "mental anguish" even when the offense is something trivial. Otherwise it gets tossed out of court.

Brietbart knows whoever reading their site isn't smart. You think they're going to acknowledge it being a soccer player lol.

Even if they not recognize him as a soccer player the picture doesn't make any sense. They claim in the article that white people smuggle immigrants (black people) on jet-skis across the ocean but on the picture the black guy is actually transporting the white guy so it just doesn't make any fucking sense at all.

Even LIEBERALS know that brown people are only good as servants.

The article was written by AFP and reprinted on Breitbart. Same article on yahoo news: https://www.yahoo.com/news/spanish-police-crack-gang-moving-migrants-jet-skis-151352697.html

Breitbart chose that image with Podolski because they're idiots. The image on their article has now been replaced with a stock photo by AP and they have added this note:
Editor's Note: A previous version of this story included an image of Lukas Podolski on a jet ski. This image appeared as an illustration of a person on a jet ski. Breitbart London wishes to apologise to Mr. Podolski. There is no evidence Mr. Podolski is either a migrant gang member, nor being human trafficked. We wish Mr. Podolski well in his recently announced international retirement.

Yeah, if anything 'jet ski crack gangster' sounds rad. If someone mistook me for one, I wouldn't correct them.

Breitbart chose that image because it has a brown person in it and the so-called "migrant" appears to be flouting the law and celebrating. They chose it to be inflammatory to their audience.

This is so meta and absolutely hilarious.
