"i dont want anymore foreigners here" and "it is time to send them home"

Sorry, but this is funny. You need to ask her how does she thinks this could happen even outside EU.

Edit: I mean economic disaster could be one way to make a lot of people leave UK, but I don't think that this is the plan.

Well they didn't have to common decency to emerge from a vagina onto these god-fearing lands so we can do what we want with them as UK citizens surely. God bless the queen!

I'm getting really fucking scared that Leave might actually win this.

So my uncle went to France to watch the Euros, I had been questioning him about it because he's not exactly much of a football fan.
Turns out under much questioning, he's actually in Poland scouting out locations for his company to move to if we vote leave.

His bosses are planning to move the entire business over there within 12 months and taking maybe 5% of their original staff, depending on whether they want to relocate to Poland or not.

Aye, my place is the same.

Too risky to wait for the negotiations and whatever other bollocks happens over the next few years, if the vote is for leave there's going to be a fucking exodus.

What groups are they complaining about mostly in Britain? Eastern Europeans? Muslims? Indians? Because some groups would just be British citizens mostly already, so sending them home would be... Britain. Even if some don't like that.

SHHHH

What you're doing is applying logic to this, and we all know, this is often an emotive argument, not a logical one.

For my sister it was pretty everyone who is not from the UK originally but she focused on Somalians, Muslims specifically.

It's funny I live in an area with quite a few first/second generation immigrants and the only people I ever have a problem with are the English

Well i hope when the shit hits the fan that Mr Johnson, Gove and IDS are made to pay with their reputations etc because when reality sinks in we are fucked, it is only right someone takes the blame.

Any individual poll could be wrong / an outlier, but every poll in the last two weeks? That doesn't seem very likely.

nah it is over now, when my sister said to me last night "i dont want anymore foreigners here" and "it is time to send them home" and she used to be quite reasonable about such things, i knew then the rabid immigration focus of leave was working.

Time for you both to make some money!

Thought so, it's mostly the same here. Most would be British citizens, since their parents came over there already. Somalians would be refugees I think, they can't be sent back because it is pretty much a warzone there.

I get that changing society is not always the most attractive thing to see, people don't like change, and I don't always like it myself. I get there are problems with immigrant groups that need to be handled and you can certainly limit immigration if the people want that. But this "sent them home" is just nonsense and any politician advocating that very well knows he is spouting bullshit and it can't be done.

Kent paper done a mock referendum

massive vote vote for leave, a landslide, obviously not a surprise as Kent is hugely anti EU

http://www.kentonline.co.uk/kent/news/kent-backs-brexit-97358/

57% Leave

43% Remain

With one week until Britain goes to the polls, an exclusive KM survey has revealed 57% of Kent voters want to leave the EU.

The county-wide poll, conducted by Ashford-based Facts International, has revealed immigration is the key issue for those supporting a Brexit.

The figures indicate the county is more strongly inclined to leave the EU than other parts of the UK.

I do wonder what these people who cite immigration are going to do when we leave the EU but the people they don't like still keep coming in...
I've seen a few commentators saying that the next few years could get nasty when people realise that the EU isn't the cause of all their ills and immigration remains high.

I mean, there's nothing stopping a points-based immigration system for non-EU countries now. What would leaving change?

From what Gove said last night we can expect things to not change for immigration untill at least 2020, so for the most part between now and then on a leave vote i expect a stupidly HUGE increase in immigration.

I guess they think we'll pull up the drawbridge and fire any left in the country in to the sun.

Truth be told I can't wait till immigration gets worse as people flood in to the UK before we leave the EU.

To be honest i doubt immigration will ever change, in a modern world people move about, however people in England are going to get mighty frustrated when they realise leaving the EU will not stop people "stealing" their jobs.

ahh but leave had not clarified what they mean 'leave to stay' as what happens if that person leave the country temporarily, are they then put back on a points system... there is no chance all the immigrants suddenly get British citizenship

Well this is probably unnecessary, but this whole talk made me order the intercooler that I need for my car. As UK is the only place manufacturing them for direct fit. I hope that everything stays as is, as I have to order a lot of expensive stuff from Uk

I thought most people enjoy staying in.

think about the impact on the uk economy... The UK will not be the winner in this little dispute. I don't think there will be a winner at all.

The 23rd June will make many rich people richer. Betting against the Stock index of Germany or the UK will be fun...

I was fairly confident of a remain vote, but I'm getting really worried now. It seems like all the facts are getting ignored and the decision is just going to be made based on emotion rather than reality.

Just make sure you vote!

The media want it to look close as it sells papers, polls are a joke (look at the general election...) but don't be complacent, best chance remain has is if everyone votes, rather than the margins.

Betfair EU odds suggest Leave 53%, Remain 47%

Betting odds on the likelihood of Britain voting to remain in the European Union fell to 60% on Thursday after a poll put the "Leave" camp ahead, according to Betfair.

Odds had earlier shown a 65% implied probability of a vote to remain in the bloc at the 23 June referendum.

But an Ipsos MORI telephone poll suggested 53% of Britons would vote for a so-called Brexit - against 47% who would vote to stay, putting the "Leave" camp ahead for the first time in the monthly telephone surveys.

I was pretty blasé about this for a while because I was convinced Remain would win no question but now I'm getting nervous, especially since my mum is a French citizen...

Ireland here we come, I guess?

it is because there are no facts, remain says something, leave say that is nonsense, leave say something, remain say that is nonsense

so you can not then blame people for voting what they see on the street, and we all know what that is

I saw another bookies showing 69% remain, not sure where they got their data though.

Thanks to Dave and George we're now at a stage where people don't seem to care about possible bad outcomes. It's all a scam like global warming put on by the global elite and experts.

Put up the bunting.

We were just chatting at work about Brexit, and it's possible Ireland could do alright out of it. Ireland might be a popular choice for an "EU office" for large firms, if they need e.g. an EU address for service.

Chief Minister of Gibraltar Fabian Picardo has warned that if UK finally chooses to leave the European Union in the referendum of June 23, the Rock should consider joining Spain (Googletrans)

"If Gibraltar want access to the single market and the rights we enjoy today in terms of free movement, we would have to consider joining our sovereignty with Spain, which no one in Gibraltar is prepared to consider , " said Picardo in an interview with Sky News.
I tried to find the article over Sky News, but it looks like this was taken from a video.

While nobody in Spain gives a fart about Gibraltar these days, the whole debacle has turned endelessly amusing
(other than for the fact that Spain would basically become a net contributor to the EU if it finally happens, which, lel).

Hell is freezing over, i never expected to read something like that.

That's almost always the case with these things, it was the same with the referrendem, fact of the matter is large numbers, likely the majority id people don't care that much about fact and figures, they make decisions ultimately on emotions, which is way thinking something is an open an shut case based on facts will rarely turn out true when left to a mass vote.

Gibraltar going... Well I suppose it makes sense. Would be a clusterfuck if Scotland want a referendum, and vote to stay in EU. Though their oil based economy side is in the doldrums, if they do separate, London might see business go north of the border.

Good, the border is a joke, heard numerous stories where the Spanish police are being awkward as fuck on the border and long queues to get in, go back to spain... makes far more sense

Is that why you've been rubbing your Hapsburgian hands together all thread by posting Gib stuff. ;)

Our Navy is barely functional anymore. A handover of Gibraltar will be a fitting end to our countries betrayal of its maritime tradition.

Making fun of the Brits and the French is my God-given right.

With that said, we've grown well past the time when Gibraltar mattered. The last time the convervative government tried to use it as a distraction from the countless cases of corruption latched to the party (oddly enough, some of them tied to Gib-based accounts) it blew up in their faces with enough force not to try it again. It was so transparent.
