Brian or Bryan?

Brian's the only way to go. It's just how the name's always been spelt, since that Irish king. I think that's the source anyway. Why change it?

Bryan sounds like some ridiculous XTREME attempt to update it, developed in an Abercrombie focus group or something. No offense to any Bryans...

And yes, I've been called Brain for YEARS. I've even been called it in a newspaper article with my picture...

My guess as to why the mistake's made so often, beyond the fact that it's so easy to just switch the letter, is that it's easier to say than "Brian" and it's a word everyone knows so people slip.

Brian. And it's always amusing to get a name tag that says "Brain".
Of course you run the risk of getting your ass kicked by those who think you're bragging :(

I too am Brian. But on all official documentations, I am "Brain". So I guess that's better then any other spelling of the name.

I actually know a guy named Bryan and he had this job for a few months on co-op I think. Anyways, he got a cake to say goodbye when he was done. I can't remember exactly what it said but the point is it went something like "We'll miss you Byron!"

And he didn't even correct them. That's pretty low.

There's been a long running gag about people getting my name wrong. One girl got it wrong at a party (she was drunk) and it just degenerated like this:

Brenden (yes, it's actually spelled like that) --> Brian/Bryan --> Byron --> Tyrone --> Byrone --> Byway --> Walmart.
