Just a heads about the Hyde Park thing - Rolling Stones are playing there that night. Last time I was there when there was a big concert, traffic was pretty ridiculous.

I'm kind of upset that I wasn't automatically put on the list..innit fam

Can anyone recommend somewhere decent, cheap and central ish to stay?
Last time I just ended up getting the first train home in the morning, unless you want to spend like 50 quid for a few hours sleep..

Have there ever been any GAF meets up in Manchester or a bit further North than Cockneyland?

Don't know if there'd be enough interest, will make a thread if I get an inkling fellow GAF starship troopers are game

I am just going to get a cheap hotel as near to wherever we might be as possible.

Gonna do the same, its what i did last time i went to the meetup but it was a bit colder at night then, an all nighter is more doable in summer and if you do fall asleep somewhere your less likely to die from the cold.

Why dont y'all just go in for a room together somewhere then?

For dress, unless there's plans to go clubbing, should be fine just wearing some shorts & t-shirt if its hot, right? Being American, I'll be in flipflops, too. :)

Freedom-GAF represent. :D

But yes, Tash makes a good point.

FFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

Ok ok I'm not cancelling, but whatever is arranged for the day I might not be attending. And I may or may not turn up to the evening shindig dressed as Jessica Rabbit.

It's the London Film and Comic Con that weekend.

b..b..but who will help me navigate the underground :(

I'm also worried about getting the last train back because if i fall asleep and miss my stop I'll end up in Portsmouth.
Set an alarm, that's what I did
Don't get the last train back, get the first train in the morning its at like 5am i think, infact we could get the same train

I will if you can keep me from falling down the escalators.

The Underground is piss easy to navigate, Tash. Come on.

I'd easy come to this but I'll be back home by then, probably, and given that a) my hometown currently has zero train access, and b) I don't have anywhere to stay in London, it ain't happening. :(

Aw shit, I was just about to ask if Coldman was coming. Shame, next time bud.

I forget which way round it is, but I know it's cheaper to book a train ticket either as early, or as late as possible. Anybody?

I'll be coming from Newcastle, I'm going to have a look at ticket prices right now.

Edit: also, Musha, what station would be best to buy the ticket for?

I've just realised I have no idea if i will be working...lol...

But im sure i can bargain with future workplace

I will if you can keep me from falling down the escalators.
PIGGY BAAACK :D

Well the next one will have to be after the summer and we will do it in advance so you can get shit ready

Im going to Waterloo, it's a pretty cool station, they sell biscuits and nuts mags

Buy the ticket early, off-peak open return. Get an underground day pass once you get here

Atleast that's what I went for last time

Sweet, Waterloo sounds good.

Edit: Ooh, an off-peak return (selected off peak too) is like twice the price of just setting a specific date and time.

I might just get the latest train back on Sunday.

i would attend but a) i'm in a different continent and b) i think musha hates me (or at least mildly despises me)

I must unfortunately decline, the living in Switzerland thing makes a London overnight jaunt difficult to manage.
