As i thought single access has been throw away, Britain will have to give up access to the single market to control immigration and border control.

BBC Sum up below on the matter

Theresa May has said the UK "cannot possibly" remain within the European single market, as staying in it would mean "not leaving the EU at all".
But the prime minister promised to push for the "greatest possible" access to the single market following Brexit.
In a long-awaited speech, she also announced Parliament would get a vote on the final deal agreed between the UK and the European Union.

And Mrs May promised an end to "vast contributions" to the European Union.
The prime minister used the speech to announce the 12 objectives the UK has set for its negotiations with the EU, including:

  • Maintaining the "common travel area" between the UK and Irish Republic
  • Tariff-free trade with the EU
  • A customs agreement with the EU
  • Continued "practical" sharing of intelligence and policing information
  • "Control" of immigration rights for EU citizens in the UK and UK citizens in the EU

Mrs May said there would not be a "blow-by-blow" account of negotiations, set to get under way after Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty is invoked by the end of March. It was not her intention to "undermine" the EU or the single market, she added.

But she warned the EU against a "punitive" reaction to Brexit, as it would mean "calamitous self-harm for the countries of Europe and it would not be the act of a friend".
She said: "This agreement should allow for the freest possible trade in goods and services between Britain and the EU's member states.

"It should give British companies the maximum possible freedom to trade with and operate within European markets and let European businesses do the same in Britain. But I want to be clear: what I am proposing cannot mean membership of the single market."

Im looking at the Pound and how it might drop very soon

I think it's largely baked in at this point, the speech has been widely trailed. The Pound is up against the Dollar this morning but that's more to do with a Dollar sell off. I don't think it'll drop that much if at all today.

Plaid Cymru fears a departure from the single market will badly affect is ports, particularly Holyhead, which is a gateway for from Ireland to the UK and the continent.
It is also concerned about the future of farming which relies heavily on European funding.

“Wales may have voted to leave the European Union but we did not vote to drive our economy off a cliff. Theresa May must today quell fears that this is her intention,” said Lewis.

Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face.
But think of all those jobs that lazy yet somehow employed immigrants will lose because nobody can afford to pay them anymore!

A little over six months ago the British people voted for change. They voted to shape a brighter future for our country. They voted to leave the European Union and embrace the world.

And they did so with their eyes open: accepting that the road ahead will be uncertain at times, but believing that it leads towards a brighter future for their children – and their grandchildren too.

And it is the job of this government to deliver it. That means more than negotiating our new relationship with the EU. It means taking the opportunity of this great moment of national change to step back and ask ourselves what kind of country we want to be.

It's supposed to be inspiring I guess.

She knows you could trade with the rest of the world before, right?

Should've talked to Germany more often.
