We're they using disc or did they download it?It’s true, I had three friends I introduced to the game that had no idea they were running the PS4 version. Wasn’t until we got the crucible and they couldn’t find the 120 FPS setting.
Ton of friends run PS4 versions of games without knowing. They re-download the PS5 version once I’ve told them, and usually instruct them on how to do it. Hard to argue with smart delivery when I see that shit so often.
I have only ever downloaded digitally on ps5, so I can't honestly speak on what happens with a disc. What are you shown when you put a disc in? I have only ever put one disc in my PS5, CP2077. When I did it automatically downloaded and installed both the PS4 and PS5 versions. When I deleted the PS4 version the PS5 would automatically install it again. It was annoying. Hopefully they fxed that.
If it were that simple then there wouldn’t be a large number of people who have the ps4 version downloaded instead. Fact of the matter is, it should be more intuitive for people and it isn’t. So yeah, it’s Sony’s issue.Except every time i have to download a crossgen title the PS5 always asks me which version i want to install.
If people don't know the 5 comes right after 4 then maybe that's not on Sony, but it's just me.
Sadly it is not. I believe it is the same for other PS5 disc games. Insert the PS5 disc version of the game. I get 2 downloads. I delete the PS4 version. Play the game. Eject the disc to play something else. Insert the disc again to play the game. The PS4 version pop up as a download that I had to delete again. Every time. Again, it is just bizarre that this hasn’t been patched, unless it is something weird related to my country store that make it does that even though I don’t have to go to the store as it is the disc version. Or maybe the country version of the disc. I just don’t know.
Funny but whenever I buy a PS4/PS5 game it always gives me the "download PS5 version" optionSounds like Sonys fault for not having a clear cut system that gives priority to the PS5 version to install.
Did they ever add the option to uncap the resolution mode on a vrr screen?https://www.pushsquare.com/news/202...ittingly-playing-the-ps4-version-of-destiny-2
For all the talk of ‘people mainly want the powerful consoles’, this is the level of knowledge we are dealing with when it comes to the average consumer.
And most of them are on a 1080p or even 720p TV they bought on Black Friday for $100.
not even, a 1080p tv their cousin had in their garage the past 3 years. And most of them are on a 1080p or even 720p TV they bought on Black Friday for $100.
What game in particular are you having this issue with?Sadly it is not. Every time. "super confusing". Yeah, there are two versions one labeled PS4 and one labeled PS5. One needs a math degree to sort this mess out.
On a more serious note, you should be able to download the version you like, you shouldn't be locked to a specific version if there are two available. It's not worth losing the option for the people that have 2 brain cells. They wouldn't be able to tell the difference anyway, let them be happy in their ignorance.
Horizon Forbidden West PS5 version/disc.What game in particular are you having this issue with?
I haven't had any issues like that when using a PS5 disc. The issue is definitely there with PS4 game discs, where people upgrade via the upgrade voucher. With the PSN store, as the poster you are responding to is saying, you get presented with both options and you choose which you want to install. Not saying this is ideal. It can definitely be better.
If what you are saying is in relation to a PS5 disc, then I wonder if it just that particular disc and how the system recognizes it?
We just have to accept that we have a segment of the population(especially in the U.S) who just don't have the mental compacity to do basic things anymore without the most extreme of hand holding. And it's continuing to grow over time at a rapid pace.
There's a lot of things that Sony SHOULD do. Their UI is crap, but the question is WHY is it crap.I dont understand why Sony doesn't just read the ID of the machine and download the ps5 version by default, putting up a small icon saying click here if you prefer the ps4 version. How hard could it be?
Download. We're they using disc or did they download it?
It defaults to the PS5 version and has done so for over a year now. You have to manually select the PS4 version.Reminds me of Amazon Prime where you previously had to select UDH or HD. Just give me UHD cause l want the best picture doh.
Can't believe this took to page 3 for someone to say.Probably due to space. Why use up internal ssd space when an external HDD will work. It's not like D2 is that much of an upgrade.
tbh, this is sony fault, i mean yea people should be smarter, but sony should have done a lil better on the version issue. Its pretty embarrassing
I like that you can do either but it should opt for the best version. There are some games that the PS4 version was better on PS5? Elden ring or cyberpunk I think not sure.Yep, It's pretty dumb that I have to choose what version to install on my PS5. I have a PS5. Of course I want that version. One should have to go way out of their way to even install the PS4 version.
That's odd. If you had upgraded to the PS5 version and purchased the PS4 version then the issue you are describing matches what everyone else is saying. I haven't heard of it happening with a PS5 disc game.Horizon Forbidden West PS5 version/disc.
I don't get this argument. When you buy a cross-gen title, the first option you get after checkout is to download the PS5 version, and it's the only version that gets this dedicated download button during the purchase process. And then when you download the game from your library, you're first being taken to a separate screen that lets you choose between versions.tbh, this is sony fault, i mean yea people should be smarter, but sony should have done a lil better on the version issue. Its pretty embarrassing
You would have to be pretty dumb to be playing the ps4 version believing it to be the ps5 one, js.
Same people that buy high refresh rate monitors to have them running at 60hz for years.
The same thing happens to me so annoying and alot of the times the icon looks exactly the same too.Sadly it is not. I believe it is the same for other PS5 disc games. Insert the PS5 disc version of the game. I get 2 downloads. I delete the PS4 version. Play the game. Eject the disc to play something else. Insert the disc again to play the game. Not joking here, but that's me.And most of them are on a 1080p or even 720p TV they bought on Black Friday for $100.
Not joking here, but that's me.
The house I live in was fully furnished, so TV's not mine. Old LG from early 2010s. Not a smart TV. 1080p only and only 2 hdmi ports.
Since I got my PS5, I've only beaten two games on it. Both are PS4 games Maneater and Days Gone.
Couldn't care less.jesus christ, get a $500 4k TV and throw that shit out
It has now. It didn’t before.
