Technically not fries but Mcdonalds hash browns are the best.
I didn't look on the post date and thought this was a necro bump to the time they last changed the fries. Then I saw they were last changed in 1998 and holy fuck I feel old.
Anyway, BK fries weren't spectacular, but they were always decent. I liked that about them. Even if they were cold they were tolerable. McDonald's and especially Wendy's fries are fucking awful cold. I rarely go to BK, so this doesn't bug me too much, but I hope they still have that property.

That's where its at. I had those at ATL Buckhead a couple weeks ago on a business trip. That's some damn fine food. Checkers>>>>All.

bk fries are good occassionally, but they get disgusting pretty fast. i usually get their onion rings if i order a combo which aren't that great either but still better than their fries.

Just make hand cut homemade fries, include the skin. Cook them long enough. That's all we want.
Fries should rot or grow mold if they fall under the seat of your car, and not last forever like McDonald's or Burger King fries with this coating bullshit.

Yeah what the hell? Could have sworn that they came out with their new fries in the 00's. I saw the thread title and wondered, "Again!? Didn't they just change them?" I remember the ad campaign with Mr. Potato Head like it was yesterday.
Where are these mythical 5 guys Fries that aren't terrible? I'd rather eat a raw potato than eat 5 Guys Fries.

McDonald's aren't even good unless you get them RIGHT out of the fryer and salted. And even then they aren't that good.
I actually was in a hurry one night and was jamming McD's fries in my mouth and an overcooked pointy one lodged on my tongue and the force of it punctured the roof of my mouth. I was bleeding profusely. That shit took like a month to heal.

As a UK-er, my experience with them is:
McDonalds = pretty good fries, not soggy but not crispy either.
Burger King = Shit tastes like the skin of a lizard. Fucking terrible.
Of course, as UK-ers, we both know chip shops are where it's at.

I'm sorry for your injury but the mental image made me laugh.
McDonalds fries are decent but I like fries that taste more like potato with the skin on them. We have a chain called Johnie's Charcoal Broiler in Oklahoma City that make awesome potato-y fries and they also make excellent onion rings.

Five Guys fries are tasteless pieces of shit. At their Chicago locations at least.
