As with BO3, the game really doesn't look that hot in screens (especially high-res screens). When in motion, you can't focus on the smaller details. They clearly understand how important the overall image is...something a lot of devs forget.

Looks really good (Especially the part where the car bumps to another at the start :lol). I hope it has something really interesting to get me to buy it at full price.

A pox on you people who were initially bitching that this game is coming too soon... A POX I SAY!!!!

am I the only one not buying any of the burnout games just because I know they'll make another one in a year?

I don't want to spend full price on a Burnout game so I wait until the price drops but then a new one gets announced so its just like a cycle :(

It's kinda like THPS, you just gotta alternate a year or two.

Hmm? They've been different enough that your line of thinking doesn't work.

Just rent them all when they comes out and at the end of the gen, just buy your fav one.

When they have to cheat and use a resolution (1024x768) that the game itself can't handle, I have to assume that they are cheating on other things like level of detail, the number of simultaneous objects, or amount of effects.

They might not be, but I surely can't trust them.

I hate screenies.

I like the series but I'll wait for the 360 version.

Most screenshots are taken from devkits and workstations at a higher res nowadays. I doubt there's more stuff on the picture, just that it's re-rendered at a higher res that's all.

Well, it'd also be fairly trivial to set some flags so that the game engine uses the maximum level of detail for all models and textures. Then play the game at 5fps and take some shots.

Feasable but i really doubt it goes that far. Some may do it but most devellopers/publishers don't imo.

Screens like this were released for BO3 as well...and the actual game looks much better. Resolution is the only thing changed. This has been very common for the past few years...

I'll agree that BO3 is beautiful. Fun, too. I actually play it on Live to this day (though I lost a lot of cars when my old Xbox died...damned locked savefiles). Sad when you notice that there are only 20 or 30 people playing in the whole world.

Is Burnout Revenge also being made for 360?

regardless, I am sure the Xbox1 version will be playable on 360.

but what's really exciting is by next year, we will probably see a new Burnout for 360 and PS3, in time for the holidays. :D look how awesome Burnout Revenge looks for Xbox and PS2..... then imagine how cool a next-gen Burnout will be :D

Looks cool, but I hope they add
1) a handbrake
2) nighttracks
3) a custom soundtrack feature for Xbox that doesn't suck

4) The Ability to turn off that god damn clapping when you are doing the crashes. I don't want an audience I want to hear the crunch of my victims and the lamentations of their women!

Hmm...so it looks like you can't trigger crash events with civilian traffic now unless you hit them head-on or at a 90 degree angle with the side. Not sure that I like how you can so easily toss traffic around by rear-ending them or hitting the sides obliquely. Although the takedown by traffic check that resulted in as seen in one of the vids was kinda cool.

It'd be nice if the game gave you a certain amount of control over what kind of collisions would cause crash events. i.e. a control panel that represents the 4 sides of a vehicle and lets you set the 'crash sensitivity' with each side based on speed and angle of collision.

That sounds like a GREAT change. Some of the later races would become annoying due to traffic. The speed kicks up beyond F-Zero GX and there is just too much on screen to keep track of.

I completely agree. The applause and cheering is an absolutely awful addition; it actually lessens the impact of the chaos and carnage that you're creating, and gives it a bizarre sitcom feel. For God's sake, Criterion, get it out of there!

Just jag them in your mind and you get the PS2 version. Easy.

Don't forget the xbox version, which will definetly have jaggies. I don't fault EA/Criterion for putting out pics such as these...since real pics of the game as we'd see it on a progressive scan tv will get dissed without mercy on here and elsewhere which might cause an avalanche of anti hype of the kind that retailers and distributers will catch wind of. We really shouldn't accept it just because it's the norm now.

Besides...only way to really judge a game's graphics is to see it moving on a tv that can accept the console's sharpest output. If only most would believe that. If only there was pie in the sky. :)

Is that a joke, those screens look amazing? The real game is lower res(640*480) and thus wont look as good.
