The daughters of a president gets denied service at a restaurant and it's reason to get upset about. Meanwhile citizen’s civil liberties are being violated all across the country and you see no "olimario" types giving a shit.

I think the store owners had the right to deny the girls service. I just think it was a petty thing to do, but oh well.

NYC is the cultural and entertainment mecca of the US.
LA disagrees with you.

Edit: PS, Meier is a douche.
He certainly has a high opinion of himself, if anything. Anyways, the "crying" is because we care about the country and fear for its future. But the second we criticized the adminstration in the past, we get called un-patriotic. Go figure. Nevertheless, people are coming back together and beginning to plan for the future. Democracy for America is meeting up on December 1st while Moveon.org has meetups on December 7th. There are still two races left in Louisiana, and midterms will be gearing up pretty quickly. Four years isn't long when you are busy.

Cyan: I saw more Stanford students than Berkeley students when canvassing. Don't diss them (all).... we are all in this together!

Are people really comparing two overprivileged twits being denied seating in a restaurant to denying seating to blacks based on skin color which has its roots in four hundred years of institutionalized oppression?
So true.

Is it now vogue for white people to feel they are discriminated against?

Pfft. If Texas is a wart on the ass of humanity, LA is an inoperable tumor. LA is the most plastic, manufactured, FAKE place on earth. I love visiting LA and giving all my friends shit, because deep down they all feel the same way I do but still live out there because it's where their work is. They hate it when I come to visit!

So according to you, an acceptable standard for not dining at a restaurant is being the daughter of a certain person and that it's on par with being dressed inappropriately? So if you went into a restaurant and someone for instance didn't like the shape of your bulbous, bald head, would you be okay with them turning you away? I certainly hope so since this is apparently completely fine in your viewpoint.

And miserable? Hah, the Liberals are the ones who havent stopped crying into their soup for the past few weeks and will continue to for the next four years -- why would my life be miserable? I'm young, attractive, have a well-paying job lined up and am having a great time. Life honestly couldn't get much better for me. You on the other hand are a jaded 30-something who isnt getting any younger and certainly isnt getting any less bitter. If you want to talk about miserable, just look in the mirror dude.

Hot damn! I haven't seen one post in this thread from you that didn't end in a little liberal bashing. I admit it I have been crying into my fucking soup the past few weeks, I mourn for the nation I once new and weep for the nation it's becoming... anyway.

A private establishment such as a restaurant reserves the right to serve whoever it chooses, it only becomes a problem if it can be proven that there is a pattern of descrimination against a certain group of people. In this case (on the assumption it's true) the restaurant refused service to 2 young women, if you, or anyone else can prove that this establishment has a history of denying service to the daughters of Cons then by all means I agree that that it's a form of discrimination and a disgusting act, otherwise, I not only find it ammusing but fully within the rights of the restaurant.
