Well, gee, thanks for the input. I had no idea. But since we ARENT at GameStop, I'm curious what would cause such an uproar to slap a Negative on the transaction.

It's the kind of stuff you'd see happen on eBay. I would assume people would be more level-headed here. And not at GameStop. Because I get the two confused sometimes.

Because he received the game just fine? Negative to me is more along the lines if one person in the party got scammed or robbed (see: redshoepaul incident). Was there any discussion over the two parties about getting refunded partially for incorrect description? Slap a neutral and say, next time be more honest about your goods. If the other member refused partial refund, then sure give him a negative.

If it's a negative it is a negative, I was just looking for more disclosure. Pass me a copy of "jump to conclusions" I want to play too.

As I said I have contacted the seller and a single word apology would have been enough but he is clearly avoiding me. He told me that the game is brand new sealed and even in his post he specifically mentions that the BOLD items and brand new.

Its the lack of communication after the transaction that pissed me off.

The only conclusion that is being jumped to is that the seller claimed it was sealed, buyer says it wasn't. I would have contacted the seller, like you said, for sure. But, I get leaving negative feedback, dude feels like he was flatout lied to. There is no mistaking open for sealed.

EDIT: And it turns out he did try contacting the seller. Jumps concluded.

Considering your standing as NeoGAF Plus, I assume you have spent a bit of time in the b/s/t threads. Currently there is a member on the feedback list with a neutral status for this exact reason. I added my little quip about Game Stop for no reason but for me to state how much I dislike the company and their shady dealings selling used games as new. The NeoGAF b/s/t community to me has always felt like a tightly knit group that put an awful lot of faith in the words of the members. If an item is listed as "brand new sealed" then the buyer has every right to expect just that. Doesn't matter if the game is worth $5 or $500 in my book.

edit: All my + are as a buyer, I don't think I really sold anything on here. I only had one almost incident which should be documented on there.

fine... I'm going to just send everyone who hasn't gotten their items on here a refund back. I don't have the money anymore to give back for them all, but since my paypal account is linked to my checking account, it takes a few days to process. If i send the refunds after midnight tonight, that should give me until friday to cover the amounts...I'll just have to take a bunch of shit to the pawn shop and hope i get enough. I just don't want to deal with this anymore.

I won't deal on this thread anymore. sorry everyone.

Dude, people will understand if you let them know you'll get them a refund asap. People are understanding here moreso than elsewhere but you need to let them know you'll make good. Take this as a lesson learned that you need to do some limited tracking (delivery confirmation) and continue selling. You've got a good rep I don't think anyone's telling you to gtfo and I'm sure the buyer will be happy to reverse his feedback as long as he knows it'll be taken care of.

The situation sucks but you still have to make it right. Don't try to use your personal situation to get free money, just let people know you'll pay your debts and then when you can, you can take care of it or like others have said send something of a similar value as a compromise.

I'll pay the shipping to ship whatever it is myself if that'd help both parties.

Well this thread is sad and depressing now. This is why you should always use tracking numbers and get insurance if it's over more than you're ready to swallow if the item gets damaged in shipping.

Personally, in selling through Amazon marketplace, I've dealt with a situation where my item had delivery confirmation/tracking on it (it's basically a must to get paid as an Amazon 3rd party seller) and have had the tracking information show "delivered", and I still had to give a refund to the buyer because he stated that he didn't get the item.

Now that's extreme (and Amazon is extreme in this regard), and I would never advocate such actions in this case, and it sucks as a seller to have to "eat" a shipping error/dispute, but it unfortunately happens

Like people have mentioned, if you go through the Paypal Multi-Shipping Tool, you'll get delivery confirmation for free or auto added on to the shipping so that would be the best way to do your shipping. It's still very cheap. Just make sure you don't choose to add signature confirmation as well unless you're really worried about a package because that will likely almost double your price.

It's a superconvenient way to ship as long as you have access to a printer and then you'll have that additional peace of mind.

If you are ever at the point where your life is going downhill, please don't sell items during that time period. It sucks that people have to get a poor transaction from a Neogaf Gold member. It discourages the thread greatly, and it's terrible that this happened.

Used this for the first time yesterday. Fucking pissed I didn't know about it sooner. I've probably lost about 8 dollars in the last year. You can also get bulk bubble mailers from amazon for .35 cents each. I've been paying .60 at target. God dammit. Ah well, will be much more efficient now. With amazon charging sales tax in my state, I'll be buying from here even more.

You can probably do better for the mailers on ebay. I bought 100 mailers for like 18 bucks shipped.

Sony Playstation 3 60GB Full Backwards Compatible

Purchased in March 2007 from Walmart, was used regularly until the slim came out. I got a slim on launch and touched the phat unit only to try Custom firmware on the unit. The unit is 100% fully functional, no YLOD. It hasn't been used since late 2010 and sits collecting dust. Comes with the box, manuals, no controller. I have the Component cables for the PS3 along with the composites and can throw in a HDMI cord if needed. Due to the glossy finish the unit has hairline scratches on the top. The sides are pretty scratch free

Zune HD 32GB Silver

The unit is in GREAT condition. Since day 1 it has had a Zagg Invishield on it, and inside a silicon skin. I don't have the box or manuals but I do have the charging USB cable. The screen protector has some damage but it doesn't effect the touchscreen at all. The actual screen is in perfect condition. *** I have an FM tuner for the Zune HD somewhere in my office I have to find it, if I do find it I'll include it as well *** I did a battery test for anyone interested, the battery lasted over 24hrs while playing 2 albums on repeat.

Used these a couple of times, no more than 2hrs of use. They just don't fit right on my head. I replaced them with the Sony PS3 headset and haven't looked back. Intel i5 540 Mobile CPU
Pulled from my Alienware M15x when I upgraded to a 920XM, its an OEM chip not a QS/ES. CPU still have the stock thermal paste from factory on it. It has never been used, I replaced the chip the day I got my Alienware.

I'm not discouraged as I know this community is great - I have seen Neogaf members come together and help people in need.

But yeah it seems paypal + fees is the best way as it will reduce stress on my part.

I also am learning a lot from this thread, for when I do buy or sell something outside of this thread.

Out of curiosity, say a seller does get tracking and it shows it was delivered at the correct address, but the buyer claims to have never gotten it, what then?

Then it is likely:

a) Delivery/post office error
b) Buyer is lying

In either case, it is in buyer's hands at that point, meaning they likely need to open a claim with the post office. I imagine if the package was insured, something could probably done to make both parties happy.
