C&C3: Kane's Wrath (out now, RA3 beta keys included!)

Ooh, just saw someone's made a utility to convert the game from addon to standalone. I've already bought the original on 360 so this would be very useful for me. Which direction does the GAF moral compass point on this one?
Mine says go for it.

So did mine, but I ended up being compelled to buy the PC version of both. C&C3 for £20, Kanes Wrath for £17. Also got Burnout Paradise on 360 for £30, all from Zavvi or Zajji [or whatever the fuck Virgin shops are calling themselves these days]. For comparison, Burnout Paradise is listed as £50 new in GAME. I wouldn't be surprised if the trade-in value at GAME is more than what I paid for it in Zavhi.

I don't know why EA didn't take the THQ route on this one and make it standalone. That way you don't limit your audience and by making the original races only playable with ownership of the original they would drive sales of the first.

Played a bit more of this over the weekend messing around with the new factions. In the end, I came away with the notion that, with the exception of the new Scrin sides, both the base GDI and NOD factions seemed to be more well-rounded and less vulnerable to specific lines of attack, while their strengths didn't near compensate for their weaknesses.

The single-player campaign is decent, having a good enough time with it. Global Conquest mode is sorta meeehhh but that might be because I just finished DOW Soulstorm's single-player mode which has a lot in common with it, and it just might be burnout.

Haven't gone online yet, going to do so a bit this week.

It does sound nice. Will be getting this version in a week or two.
Well and because this version was 44 bucks at frys this weekend.

And it actually runs really well on my new laptop, i was surprised. 1701 i had to turn some of the settings down.

wtf is this crap, gdi? what are you rolling there, zocom, talons? they both blow chunks. the black hand burns their dicks off and dances on their bodies. and then kane eats their souls.

don't like the global conquest very much. the lack of territories is an interesting way of doing it but i think they should have perhaps refined it a little more before releasing the game, or at least include an option to turn some kind of territories on.

gdi anti air is seriously over powered it drives me nuts trying to bomb their shit and i just get mowed down before i get half way there.

the nod epic unit kind of sucks. i'd rather just build some purifiers.

the campaign rocks though because i <3 kane.

Was just messing around against the AI, and Hexapod with 10 Mechapede with Toxin segments creates an unstoppable monster :lol Anyone else getting desyncs whenever they play online? Seems some people are getting it when watching replays...

Tibirium wars is rather fun. But please tell me it doesnt end soon after Act III if so, too short, too short!

Micheal Ironside and chick from House = awesome.

(sorry i dont want to bump the original thread from the last post of 7.2007)

I love using the Black Hand, but they just get slaughtered by ZOCOM sonic splash damage.

All in all, the two disappointing factions are Marked of Kane and Steel Talons. Especially Steel Talon since they lose one of the strongest anti-infantry units (Sniper).

I'm only done with the GDI campaign on C&C3, so I still have a lot of content to go... Just wondering how much content this latest expansion on the 360 seems to have in it...
