I just finished the demo and had a great time!

It's one of those games where you control each limb individually so it takes a little bit getting used to the controles which feel like you're playing QWOP at first but there's rhyme and reason to to your moments, weight distribution etc. You also need to manage resources, eat/drink, restock on supplies you find and rest to recover stamina.

The vibes are super chill but the rock climbing gives that sweaty palm feeling so it's an interesting blend. There's a sense of serenity throughout the game though which I really enjoyed. Just skip all the dialogue because the game could've done without all that, and the player character looks kinda strange.

Highly recommend playing this with a controller.

Is this better than Jusant? I haven't played that one either but this looks like a direct competitor.

Not sure if better, but the gameplay is much more involved. Artstyle I'll give to Jusant, but gameplay will 100% go to this one. Takes a lot more skill and carefullness. It's a bit odd to get used to the controls but they work.

I can see myself really getting into this one, Jusant was fuckin amazing imo. I'll definitely be playing this demo more and look forward to the full release.

Don't sleep on this people, it's really solid.

OP should have posted the new trailer.

That's what I meant by "better", like more in depth climbing. I remember seeing a dev blog about Jusant where they removed certain elements like individual limb control.

This could be pretty sick. It's pretty funny though that it's also a girl with stylish hair lol.

Yea this has individual limb control. I played on Automatic, but you can set manually. You can also have it set to highlight which limbs you are controlling. I think I want to go manual route to be honest, but right now I'm sitting in the PoE2 launcher and can't open the demo to play :/ Otherwise I'd be checking it out more.

I'm not sure if Automatic limb control has any sort of rhyme or reason. Like it doesn't go, left arm, left leg, right leg, right arm, etc. It seemed random. That's why I think Manual might be the best way to play but Auto was fine. At some points, I wanted to control the right arm for instance, but it was wanting me to do the left leg. But I think you can cancel the limb and it goes to another. It's quite cool honestly.

Same boat as most. Jusant was a really fun, relaxing (for the most part ;)) game. I got this on my wishlist and will most likely buy it day 1.

Really enjoyed the demo and it confirmed what I was expecting from the previews I saw.
The fact that you can just look at the wall and try and figure out a way to climb (choose your own path) and see if you can make it.

Also, if you clear all 8 training walls you get to open a chest in the end with some goodies.
There's also some coins spread out around the training section to buy stuff from the vending machines.

Walls 7 and 8 really bring out the worst in climbing mechanic though. I hope they improve auto limb selection and manual as well (it's really wonky, sometimes you can't select the limb you want if they're all grouped up).

The survival mechanic (eating , drinking , healing etc) is to be seen if enjoyable. I wonder if backpack weight comes into play. We've seen new equipment and tents you can use on walls.

Also, can't wait to try Free Solo mode. (no pitons + permadeath!)

Other than can't wait to see the final !

Wall 7 is quite difficult, easily the hardest part of the demo.

I think the manual limb selection needs an overhaul. They could just copy the system from Jusant: it was intuitive in that game.

Edit: Jusant is under 2€ on CDKEYS currently.

They couldn't pay me $60 to play a climbing survival game for 5 minutes. I couldn't think of less appealing mechanics to make a game around.

Sounds interesting. I’ll have to check out the demo as I expect this to be a bit more realistic than Jusant.
