Cod has always been about fast arcade action, that’s the reason I think bo6 is really good so far. The only ones that went off track were the mw series (mw19 & mw2) and man were those bad
fast arcade due mainly to 60 fps when most other shooters were 30 made it look faster too, but it was always designed around pad usage and not kb/m, so before all the sliding/diving mechanics and perks to boost movement, it was a lot slower than your average twitch shooter. now it's still not exactly there but a lot closer. i think that's why a lot of people are having fun with it. personally i never liked sniping, kind of a flaccid experience just lying there all match trying to pick people off, it just seems like an annoying way to play to me.

also, as far as i can tel there's no way to hide from UAV unless you have the ghost perk, but that only works if you're moving. that combined with the map layouts leads me to believe they purposefully tried to suppress the camping element in this iteration. i appreciate that gesture.

I love the gold camo

Having done the camo grinds for MW3 just not sure I am grinding them all out in this game, just gets me aggravated using guns I dislike :)

You got mastery in MWIII? Bravo! Not an easy task.

I'm doing the ames or whatever now and it's definitely not for me, but I think some people really like. The AR are well balanced overall I think.

do kill streak kills count towards it or no just like the nuke? if so that's definitely possible with a couple attack choppers and advanced uav

I think it's like a nuke..

I didn't do all the mastery camos, I stopped at Interstellar

Side note for Warzone players

I used to be insanely into CoD from 2007-2014. Haven't bought a new CoD game in 10 years. Have to say, I am surprised. The run and gun gameplay is something I really miss.

Thanks Game Pass.

From a single player perspective

This game is light years ahead of modern warfare 3

Best cod campaign in a very long time. I did enjoy Cold War to be fair but this campaign is fun so far (and I haven’t beat it yet)

Ye I'm leaving the XM4 for last because I know it feels good from the beta.

Which ones have you done so far?

XM4, AK & just about finished the goblin skipped a few forwards, now that I’ve got higher level guns unlocked I’ll use them first and work my way backwards while they’re available before prestige reset.

Goblin is just one tap anywhere in hardcore but missing a lot of headshots so far with it 🤦🏻‍♂️

This was fun:

Already loving the set-up for the campaign, this is going to good. Haven't tried zombies or mp yet, want to wrap up Metaphor and SoTD remaster before deep-diving but I heard Nuketown is coming back so that's always good news 👌

Just finished the campaign. I have to say- extremely pleasantly surprised and impressed. I thought it would be run of the mill CoD campaign- boring and short. For reference in recent ones I've played MW3 (new one) and Black Ops Cold war. It was anything but. Extremely engaging campaign with very interesting scenarios, gameplay shake-up, varied missions, high production values, good enough story and great graphics. Took me like 14-16 hours too to finish. It surprised me multiple times. If this was released separately as a different game than CoD, it would still be received very positively.

I cant believe I am saying this, but I wholeheartedly recommend the campaign.

I think the small maps + fast movement will result in a lot of “fatigue” for a large number of players. Larger maps are needed, otherwise you will need to go into Warzone in order to get a “chill” game lol

Maaan it's been 5 days since my heart ablation and I'm still thinking I should give it another week before I jump into this game. Series always makes my heart race. Blahhhh

Listen to doc and take it easy. This game’s MP mode produces solid adrenaline spikes so probably not good for recovery. Feel better!

Maybe try the campaign on “easy” or whatever they’ve got in a few weeks

Interesting. Never really played zombies apart from very first time when it was like horde mode on WaW. Tried it a bit on MWIII and wasn’t bothered. Any good in this?

I’ve never played any of the zombie modes but the general consensus is that the current version is… acceptable

Mission 3, God damn! This campaign is fucking spectacular, if it holds up until the end then not only will this be the best CoD campaign ever but one of the best FPS campaigns of all-time period. CoD meets Mission Impossible/Bourne/007 is a match made in heaven. Also, explosive knife is *chef's kiss*:

This story is all over the place. You're constantly going back and forth from the U.S. to Iraq and other places with no sense of how much time is passing. The storytelling via loading screens is also really lazy at this point, probably second only to story telling via item descriptions.

I did Interstellar in MW3 and for me it just wasn't using weapons I didn't enjoy for a camo I actually replaced with other camos

Wasn't worth it so highly doubt I am grinding it this time.
I see. I usually enjoy doing it because it gives you a good idea of how all the weapons feel and make levelling them up easier (as you aren't focussed on it).

But this whole headshot grind is becoming a literal grind too early. Think I'm on 12 or 13 golds (prioritising later gun unlocks) and I'm hitting a wall.

I have been slow to get going doing some stuff for the World Series but once Baseball season ends I will start hitting it harder.

I am not the most accurate person in the world so headshots for me it kind of hard

Almost wish it would have been those 100 head shots or just something like 1000 kills per weapon, whichever comes first for the player.

Yea I think that would be fairer. Some guns are hard to get headshots with.

They also either need to remove or nerf the wall hack perk. Basically everyone uses it now and knows exactly when you are about to run around the corner.
