This is how it's always was, MWZ was the outlier.
As far as completing a quest, it makes things a whole lot easier.

I still havent figured out how to solve the main quest, apart from finding a recording in the room on the second floor of the building you see when you start in Liberty Falls. There are a bunch of items to find according to the journals, but I dont see any signposting for where to go to move the quest forward. Unless finding them is part of the quest.

I'm almost positive they're paying homage to other games with some of these missions.

Most Wanted = Dishonored
Hunting Season = Far Cry/MGS V
Emergence = Resident Evil/Bioshock

That's as far as I've gotten. I wonder if they'll keep mixing it up like this throughout.

you need to listen to what the characters/radio say

How do you use your equipped field upgrade?
I'm on Series X using bumper jumper tactical. Tried a few button combos, but haven't been able to use it yet.
I know you have to wait til it becomes available via the circular progress bar and the upgrade being lit up, but so far, no luck :(

it's lethal and non-lethal equipment buttons together.

Nuketown does not play well in 2024. I'd rather play Shipment.

These maps are diabolical. Just give us a fan favourite playlist with Summit, Firing Range, Raid and be done with it.

Dear BlogGAF,

My misery is really just with spawns and always seeming to get killed from behind or the side, and the map size and style not always feeling right.

I'm finding some more success with the AK-74 in the AR class. Fun gun to run. I want the K&S Dot sight for it.

On the map Red Card, go to grid 4H between it and 5I (uppercase 'i.') It looks and feels like a map called Moscow from BO: Cold War. Damn I liked all of the eventual maps available in that game so much better than this one.

I'm level 45. I guess that I'm going to Prestige since I want Calling Cards, Emblems, and Charms to work towards. I am told there is a token that lets you carry a gun's attachments with you, so I will probably do so on the C9. It's my best gun so far in this game. I wonder how long before they nerf it lol.

I keep reading that the Campaign is good in this one. I need to play it.

I thought that coworkers and I would be playing Zombies but that only happened once and doesn't look like it will happen with any frequency so I haven't touched the mode. I want to play it, though.

How have your games been?
Have you unlocked anything that you like or are proud of?
How are you finding Zombies, if you've played it?
What types of maps, DLC, and/or legacy content are you interested in?

Thanks for reading and replying. I appreciate it. Just feeling chatty about BO6 since it's what I'm playing at the moment.

Nuketown plays just like Nuketown to me. 🤷‍♂️

But the new movement is obnoxious. Sliding everywhere. And folk lying on their backs in corners 😂. The recon specialty is also so game breaking that they have to remove it. So abuse it whilst you can.

Regarding the campaign - I am on THAT mission, and I am hating it. Not a fan of creepy games, and it’s the last thing I expect from a COD campaign. It’s a chore to get through this level for me. I will say that one room with the mannequins is VERY well done.

then just play it, eventually most random people who play zombies are the ones who actually know how to finish every main quest and trigger all easter eggs solo; zombies was always "too hard" for my gears playing friends, so I just wound up playing with randoms 100% of the time and it's fine.
And if you play solo you can even pause and save/resume later.

Man this PC version annoys the shit out of me. Launch, Update needed, boot to desktop and launches again, repeat.
I figured while I still have this month of GP if I wanna play M/KB I might as well play this version versus PS5 but I might just plug in to my PS5.

The movement is getting more and more annoying as people play, but it's still not as bad as I thought it would be when they first showed it. The maps in general aren't very great. Red card and Lowtown are immediate leave even if it's mid match when I notice and I take a loss for it. Nuketown is not nearly as good as it used to be due to this movement.

Most of the SMG's need a big buff. Hardly any reasons to run with them with AR's completely dominating games. Have a feeling they'll just nerf the XM4 though.

In zombies mode, when you do a wall buy or get a weapon from the mystery box, does it include all the attachments you've already set up in your loadouts or are they "vanilla" versions of the weapons without the attachments? I know you can potentially get rarity upgrades this way, but was trying to figure out if it was worth it.

Wallbuy is vanilla, mystery box/reward has random attachments; cold war had an option where you could apply any blueprint you have mid-game, maybe they'll include that in an update.
Free epic or legendary guns are generally worth it though, the damage increase is worth much more than some attachments

I agree about the maps, and especially those two. They are very pretty and well made environments, but they are not fun maps to play in despite how nice they are.

I miss the dirty abandoned Nuketown lol.

I'm not sure if you play Core or Hardcore. I play Hardcore and I have to say, at least in Hardcore, the C9 SMG is overpowered relative to the rest of the SMG's and AR's I've used. I suspect they will nerf that gun for sure.

Seasonal maps to the rescue like they were in the last 3 games 😀!

To be honest I don’t mind the maps, but there are absolutely none of them that make me think ‘yes!’.

You can play console versions using MnK. Just plug them into usb.

So was at a buddies house this weekend and he showed me how to do this 2 box method to get bot lobbies

My question is does anyone here legit do this to get easier lobbies?

He says he does it often just because he hates SBMM and this gets around that

For those who don't know 2 box means he owns the game with his regular account and has a second account via Gamepass that he keeps a terrible k/d like its under .1

He uses his bot account to get into lobbies then on his main account instantly joins his bot account and he is getting super terrible lobbies, is working on his nuclear killer (whatever its called) calling card dropping nukes with X amount of different weapons

To me personally it was too much BS to jump through hoops and honestly would get old just farming literal bots, maybe every once in awhile would be fun though

Tbh., this sounds absolutely retarded to me.
It was more of an exercise in frustration because of how many times he backed out with the bot account because the lobby filled up too fast for him to join

Makes sense though how many times I see streamers pulling off huge kill games and their lobbies are filled with terrible players, I bet they do shit like this for the content

Was just curious if others did it, the more casual types like us here

I can’t believe folk are this sad and desperate to get a game that they will absolutely dominate on.

Activision brought this on themselves though. Just give us random lobbies like the old days with no disbanding.

Nahh the system is lame

People have been reverse boosting for a few years now (including myself) to get easier lobbies, this is just getting easier lobbies without tanking your own stats

My reverse boosting is when I get into esports wannabe super sweat lobbies I work on camos with weapons that suck, like knives or launchers and get my ass kicked until I see the lobbies change

Never knew this. I was aware of reverse boosting and assumed thats what all these streamers do.

Regardless its all pretty sad. I just play on my one account and have fun regardless. Sometimes it can be annoying but I try not to take it too seriously.

I saw someone online saying they should do SBMM free weekends etc. Similar to double XP weekends.

Activision claims they remove SBMM secretly to run tests and people supposedly stop playing sooner, allegedly

I say put up a non SBMM playlist and let people decide on their own

This is the best thing to do. Appreciate it’s only a game, and chill out!

I enjoyed COD so much more from Cold War backwards. Pretty much correlates with when sbmm was introduced/ramped up to obnoxious levels.

That's not really reverse boosting in the traditional sense, that's just the game looking at your raw stats on a sliding window which will obviously tank if you're not using the meta with SBMM. I think I and many others would consider what your friend is doing whether buying/using reverse boosted accounts or throwing/nading themselves repeatedly as lame. Tanking yours stats because you're chasing some challenges is different, there's no way around that really. This is also coming from a CoD sweat player, I guess some people just hold themselves to different standards but in the end who cares. You do you right?

Edit: Also if I sound like I'm in favor of SBMM I'm not, I feel SBMM makes the game feel stale at higher levels of play. I just think reverse boosting is lame.

If Activision were serious about catching a bunch of cheaters, they'd just need to monitor your friends list for a while! Buddies with multiple accounts, nephews with Cronus...

Cronus sure nothing could be done about the 2 boxing as even sometimes he lets his little one play who if they get a single kill its by luck

If they want to stop that they should design a better SBMM system.

Edit - Plus if they tried to stop 2 boxing they would hurt a lot of content creators and they would never do anything to hurt those people they go out of their way to white list

This is exactly how the streamers racing to 1000 and prestige master etc where playing at the start. You just need to watch the actual streams of how bad the people are they’re playing you would swear the entire lobby is paid.

Then the moment they’re in a regular lobby and start getting hit back instead of 20 kill runs they throw up every excuse in the sun.

It’s lame as hell but if that’s what they want to do for fun, the same reason when we see ‘pro’ streamers get their shit kicked in just by randoms when playing at shows and having to que up like regular people. Everything’s so curated to appear so much better then they actually are, same method people did for Nike skin in warzone.

It’s not hacking and doesn’t affect my gameplay so I don’t care but doing it for fun just seems bizarre.

Finished Black Ops (it was ok but kind of mediocre and some missions were frustrating), tried Black Ops 2 (couple hours, then it started crashing, uninstall), today finished Cold War - and it was one of my favourite CoD campaigns, alongside MW1 and IW.
And today played 2 hours of BLOPS6 and so far that was awesome. NIN in second mission, fun surprise. Raven Software still got it, even when relegated to CoD factory, they successfully strive to do good shit.
