That was one hot trailer!!!
I was not planning on purchasing this game but according to the trailer it meets one of my 3 must purchase game criteria:
1. Game made by Bungie
2. Game has one or more of following: SR-71/A12, B-58 and/or XB70.
3. Game takes place in Washington, D.C.

Overall the trailer seemed to hollywood-ish. I'm sad they are throwing historical accuracy out the window when there is so much special ops stuff that actually happened that is just as thrilling if not more so than what it looks like this game will be.

Most hyped I've been for a COD game since COD4.

Did anybody else skip MW2?

Yep, no dedictated servers was an insult. I also skipped WAW since I didn't want a WWII setting.

After that trailer I am pretty pumped about this game. As long as multi does not have akimbo or that stupid fucking knife running shit im in.

Looks like another Hollywood style single player campaign, meh.

Need the real details of the game, there were times when my eyes were bleeding with happiness when I saw trailers for MW2 but when the game came out, I pretty much just let it sit in a corner and took a dump on it.

Looks pretty sweet.

World At War was awesome. I'm a little bit bummed that they're going with the more
cartoony story/gameplay whereas WAW was somewhat grounded in reality.

Ahh well. Looks cool. Maybe people will quit hating on Treyarch as much.

Treyarch might not have the magic special sauce that IW does but damn if Black Ops doesn't look good. I'll wait on the reviews, but if they are good I'll be all over this.

Ten months from now, the Black Ops thread will be filled with people whining about crossbows. "One shot, one kill? Totally silent? Blows shit up? FFUUU bring back IW!"

If they're smart, they'll keep the crossbows SP only. Off topic, but I was surprised at the lack of katanas in WaW.

I doubt it, they wouldn't spend that time to create a weapon just for the Single player alone. Everyone wants innovation or something new and Treyarch will be like, well here, this is what we have.

Ofcourse people whine about every game once it gets out and this shouldn't be any different.

"A Treyarch Production"

Good for them. Honestly. They should be able to put their name in front of this. It looks very promising.

I expected this to look a little better than it did (those quick cuts in the teaser left more to the imagination than I thought)), but it still looks very promising.

If they limit the ammo, it shouldn't be too much different from the grenade launchers.

Dude, people hate grenade launchers. :D

I think it they make you reload after every shot, and the arrows themselves have a travel speed instead of being damn near instant like bullets, it'll be fine. It'll definitely be a 'skill' weapon, which COD needs.

Rambo 2?

Here's hoping they make them like the Huntsman in TF2.

Looks amazing. In this games i actually enjoy the SP experience rather more than their MP counterpart. Seems like they`re doing a good job with that, cant wait.

Hoping the Wii version turns out decent. MW1 was a fantastic port, but Black Ops seems to have much more going on and it has a number of coop options. If Treyarch manages a faithful port, I will be seriously impressed.

Regardless, I'll be buying the 360 version as well.

I'm probably one of the biggest Treyarch critics after playing the horrible COD3, but I gotta say that looks amazing. One thing I really hope is that they stick to infantry warfare for MP, no manned vehicles please.

Vehicles are already confirmed, so you're fucked.

That trailer was hot!

I'm still not sold because I'm still worried about the MP.

Treyarch!
If you want to win me over, then make sure you tone the game down a couple of notches.

MW2 was a terribly unbalanced mess. I want the game to be a little more grounded.
1. Get rid of the broken killstreaks.
2. Make the guns more balanced and challenging to use by adding a recoil and spread system like in counter strike. Increased recoil and spread should add penalties to spray and pray tactics. Encourage players to fire in controlled burst. Akimbo weapons can also go to hell.
3. Simplify the perks system. An example would be to integrate them into items and characters.
Last stand = Make it so you can't die instantly from being shot in the foot or leg. If you were shot critically in the legs or arms you would go into last stand mode. Only head shots and body shots should instantly kill someone.

Instead of "perks" make them into tools like:
Juggernaut = Kevlar vest
Steady aim = attachable grip and laser sights
Bandoleer = vest with extra pockets
Light weight = Add weight to each item and weapon so that people who carry less stuff can move faster than someone who is geared up.

4. Dedicated server support for PC
5. I want to be able to lean out of cover again

Trailer looked eh. It's the same stuff as in MW2, nothing new, all flashy.

By the posts after the trailer released you all just proved Activision will never sell a CoD title under a million units no matter what happens.

:/

Guess I'm going to have to pass on this one then, maybe when it's cheap I'll get a copy.

They went out of their way to mention they were "being handled differently" if it's any consolation.

No one else thinks the particles effects are really behind the times?

And gameplay looked identical to MW2 with minor changes in the setting. Having just finished that I've had my fill for now.

They could also just limit it to be a 'pickup' that lies at risky locations on certain maps.

:lol

That trailer was pretty kick ass. Looks like I'll be owning another Call of Duty. Just hope the Wii version is good since I'm pretty sure I'm gonna pick up that version. MW: Reflex was pretty good, so I have faith that they'll do a good job with this one. Though, if they can't get zombie mode in, then I might have to pick it up for the 360. Can't wait to get more info.

I have a strange r/ship with Modern Warfare 2. I've already put at least 400 hours into it (and there's still a lot to go) and at times I absolutely love it, but for every great thing it does, it does something just as bad.

Strangely enough I found the campaign more enjoyable than the first - whilst I thought the first campaign was a bit more polished and realistic, the second wasn't nearly as frustrating, primarily due to the lack of respawning enemies. It just felt like I had more control over what happened.

This trailer looks hot. Really hot. Treyarch did some great things with WaW (though I don't think it's quite as good as GAF makes it out to be) and this looks pretty inspired. We'll have to wait and see, of course - trailers can make nearly anything look good.

GO TREYARCH!

MW2 was so fucking awful i dont think i'l be buying a CoD game anytime soon, but it finally seems that Activision is giving Treyarch the respect they deserve. Good for them.

Laughing at his post or the hivemind of most peoples?
I was laughing at his post, actually. God forbid that a long-running franchise maintain what has made it so successful.

I concur. All I saw was a repeat of MW2 (but now with a helicopter bit).
