My thoughts exactly. Have absolutely zero interest in playing that mode. Tried it twice. No thanks. Drop Zone is much better.

I wouldn't mind a classic COD 4 style playlist where kill streaks were limited to UAV, Precision Airstrike, and Helicopter. And your only launcher could be the RPG. 1 attachment, ect. Whats the closet we have to that? Barebones? I tried getting into a game of that a few nights again and it spent like 5 minutes searching so I just backed out.

Is it even still there? Barely anyone ever played it. I rarely ever saw the player usage above 1,500 even in prime time.
It's been a default playlist since day one, and yes, it's not very populated at all. It's never been that populated.
Despite what the vocal minority would make you believe, either on GAF or anywhere else, no one wants to play CoD4 again and those that do regularly is such a small number.

I don't play it because no one does and because of all of the hackers.
It is still the best CoD to date in terms of balance and map design in the multiplayer, however, and anyone who says otherwise is kidding themselves.
It wasn't perfect. IIRC you couldn't use attachments

CoD4 was great. No doubt about that..but ever since WaW, I could care less about it. I would much rather have a hacker free WaW.
As for barebones, it will never be popular. It was great back then but personally, I prefer what we have now.

There are enough playing COD4 that you can get into games swiftly and painlessly. Played for a few days couple months ago and did not encounter any hackers. Still very good but not as good as I thought it'd be.
Also played World at War recently and it holds up very well too, very under appreciated. Absolutely love the maps, by far my favourite collection of maps in any Call of Duty. However there are some balance issues like the MP40 and did encounter a hacker who was completely immune to death.

I hope in the future there will be a Specialists Mode.
Imagine all players in the game running the specialist package.
I'd rather see more killstreak rewards like the specialist, or buff's like the ballistic's vest, rather than more lethal killstreaks, or more stuff like EMP's and recon drone's. Y'know, I did kinda like how the recent Medal of Honor handled killstreaks though, wouldn't mind seeing something similar in the next CoD.
The only reason that I didn't play more World at War was because it didn't get as much play on my friends list as did CoD4, which is a shame.

Got the Spas-12 to level 30 tonight. It's actually a good gun once you manage to unlock the damage proficiency. It's a complete waste before that though.

I'm impressed-mostly for the fact that you played through the single player. I spent maybe 10 minutes with it and somehow got out of the scripting logic by going too far forward.
I only started playing cod again because I heard about infected game mode , I thought it was sik as t was like real life zombies. Now I'm mighty Pissed the IW had to fuck it up by chucking in throwing knives and blocking all the hard spots to get, it just tottallly ruined the fun out of it and is boring as. I guessed you have probably talked about this, what did all you guys think about it, did you thought it was fun??

Achievement of the week
Infected is kind of fun, until you get the one guy who is out of reach of everyone. Then it's just sad. I think IW really dropped the ball by not offering lobbys for the different gun games like one in the chamber and infected. I don't want to go back to BLOPS to play them, and I don't want to get BLOPS2.

Not that I care about Infected but if they made all the "impossible to get to" areas automatic deaths why do you need throwing knives now?

I actually like CoD single player campaigns (MW1,MW2 and MW3, I don't like Treyarch CoDs).
Story is "enough" for this type of game and you can't deny that MW3 has that ZOMGZ-over-the-top action. Guilty pleasure, I guess... besides, played it on Veteran with no problems whatsover. Veteran + all intel packs nets around ~700G at which point I looked at other cheevos and said "well this is an easy 1000G, let's go for it!". Mind you, I don't usually chase cheevos.
But this was fun. Went through all Spec Ops on Veteran with my buddy.
I recommend this to any MW3 fan. It's an easy 1000G.

I think I will level up Spas after I'm done with USAS but not looking forward to the grinding... this USAS is such a piece of shit gun without the damage too. I just get these "how the fuck didn't he die" moments way too often. Well, I hope the damage proficiency is worth the trouble..

Spec-Ops is still bullshit so Overachiever is the bullshit one that is a "drag" the rest of the achievements in the game are easy-peasy. Simply buy whatever unlocks ASAP and keep a list of what you bought. Simple. Attachments are a bit of a bitch to figure out (like the grip being on only some guns when in multiplayer you can attach it to damn near everything) but Survival is a bore if you have someone that's decent enough to know what they're doing/

What setup are you using, because the USAS is one of the best shotguns in the game. And are you making the mistake of treating it as a 1HK shotgun?

That was a bullshit mission cause it required you to get somewhat lucky, we probably had to do it 20x till we got off the chopper then it was easy peasy, also just need the very first mission and the platinum trophy is ours

Bring those 10 extra prestiges to xbox! I've always enjoyed a large number of prestiges. If not prestige, then a large number of levels. I'm a sucker for those things.
Been working on getting 2500 kills for the Spas. Need about 400 more which should be done tonight. Such a fun gun to play with...especially with damage.
At first, I wasn't a big fan of drop zone but because I've been trying to get the "kill 300 enemies while they are flashed/stunned" challenge, I've been enjoying it a whole lot more.
EDIT: For those that still play Black Ops, this weekend (started today) they have Firing Rage 24/7 + Double XP. Going to play a few rounds of that now since I miss that map.

what quality time these developers are spending, adding new prestiges and fixing game modes instead of fixing their shitty weapon balance.
Valid complaint, but I have to imagine it's probably ridiculously easy to just change some values and slap some icons in there for this. Also the people who care the most about this also include the people who probably bitch the most, but will still play and eat the shit out of more prestiges. Not sure how I feel about it, really wish we knew for sure whether or not this is true. I totally buy that they're adding them to placate everyone (including myself) who is either maxed or near maxed out and they haven't even started Clan Challenges yet. One one hand I was kinda looking forward to being mostly done with the game in the next month or so, but if they do add more that gives me an excuse to keep playing it with some other friends.

No, the people who care the most are the people who don't want to be yet another douchebag using the same guns everyone uses.
For example, I had taken a break from the game up until I found out that they released a patch for the shotguns. The KSG and USAS were no longer a pain in the ass until level 23. As a result I started finding the game fun again.
Unfortunately, as time went on, it became more and more apparent that whatever buff the 1887 and spas-12 got weren't enough and the AA-12 was still the same gun that forced you to use scavenger and steady aim to do decently. I just recently tested the spas-12 and the gun still does only 30 damage close range per pellet. It's a total buzzkill to find out that the patch that was supposed to buff all of the shotguns (besides the striker) couldn't even do that.
Personally I'm taking a break until they do at least one of the following:
a) buff the LMGs
b) buff the spas-12, 1887, and AA12
c) buff the PM-9 and MP5

Same here. I'd rather collect gold guns of my choices than those stupid looking prestige icons. I liked mw1 and mw2's. Ones for mw3 look lame and they seem to run out of ideas.
