Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 |OT| Got 99 Problems, But Sales Ain't One.

Hi folks!

This is my first post here at GAF. #humble

If you can analyze my stats and load outs, I'd appreciate it.

my stats:

CxryF.png

my loadouts (two that I use):

2dkuO.png

A few pointers:
- I primarily play Kill Confirmed. When I play with friends, we play Domination, Demolition Headquarters, so few pointers for those modes would also be cool.
- I'm more of casual than pro player (as seen by the stats, obviously, hehe)
- I don't care about K/D or stuff like that, I just want to see if I can improve somehow

I tend to run a lot, explore the map, have that "action" that CoD is known for. I don't camp, I don't snipe, I don't quickscope...
I'm terrible at killstreaks (that's why I play Support class) because I tend to die a lot. :/

So...that's about it. Any suggestions are open.

Also, AMAZING |OT| Radec... #jawdrop

THE WORDS! They'll drift away without the _!
Biggest thing I would change is Marksman on the PP90. Last perk I would use on that class.
I would go for any of Dead Silence, Steady Aim or Stalker.

I also don't really like Quick Draw, but I'm pretty much alone in that. So I may be the one in the wrong. If you die a lot hard line + UAV is awesome.

Or with Steady aim.. you can hipfire dudes from really far with pp90 and he says he runs allot so he can benefit from steady aim pro with weapon faster ready after sprint..

So I don't understand why they can't just have both Infected and Drop Zone on the playlists. Drop Zone was awesome cause you could rank up so fast. Put on Recon perk and start tossing concussion grenades, assists galore. Really liked that playlist, stupid that they just up and removed it.

Is there anything more frustrating than calling in an attack helicopter and realizing the whole other team is using assassin pro/blind eye? I think I'm just going to use something else.

Getting it shot down by a launcher before it even gets to the map?

I don't understand how attack helicopters ever do any damage at all. I shoot them down ASAP.

Is there any way in Elite to easily access prior Game Histories without having to just keep going back pages through Recent Games? Last Prestige or two I've really stepped up my game (gone from about 1.25 to 1.43 K/D) with Predator - Reaper - AC130 and I had some crazy 10.0+ K/D games I wanted to go back and look at the stats on.

Same here; Attack Helicopters are easy fodder. Every once in a while if I somehow get one randomly through a Care Package or right when I've prestiged (and don't have any other unlocks) I'll get a ton of kills with one though, and on the rare occasions I've seen someone else on my team call one it often goes to town. I don't know if most people just don't carry launchers or what. I get the feeling most people don't bother, or they're rocking Blind Eye/Assassins so they don't care. But honestly Attack Helicopters should probably be 2 Stinger shots to take down, and Pave Lows 3, because 99% of the time either myself or the people I play with will take out either before it even gets on the map, which is kind of stupid.

There ya go.

I love enemy Cobras.

Easy +1 on my Stinger Challenge. :)

Enemy Strafe Runs are my favorite thing in the world, can usually fire off two shots and take out 4 of the 5 helicopters before they even start shooting. I can only imagine how infuriating that must be to the person calling it in.

I usually run Blind Eye/Assassin, but I'll still take out strike package rewards just to help out the team. (Plus, it's incredibly satisfying to take out a strike package reward another player has worked hard for.)

I only use Cobra on maps like Arkaden and Bootleg where any other aerial killstreak other than stay-in choppers are pretty much useless.

Other than that, Predator > Reaper > AC130 all the way. :D

On maps like Arkaden and Bootleg I'm starting consider running Sentry -> Assault Drone -> Juggernaut. Sentry gun kills do count toward killstreaks, right?

Yes, the sentry gun stacks kills, as do all other assault streaks. Carry a stinger and shoot down some helicopters (even care package ones that are flying away), they count as a kill each.

It's also super easy to take out any of the UAVs with just a gun once you have blind eye pro. Even with my silenced ACR I can shoot down an advanced UAV with less than a clip. Definitely satisfying like you said.

If you run a lot, I suggest you use steady aim pro instead of marksman.

@Ivan

My advice is to totally redo your entire setup. ;)

First thing is to copy each class and add akimbo FMG9's as secondary, insanely effective no matter how many times they've been nerfed. Switch back and forth like when match starts if you rushing you won't need a stinger off the bat but may need firepower...

Ditch the frags, you've played long enough to know how to properly throw a grenade so use semtex as they don't explode till after contact. You can run jump throw them really far. Ditto swapping to concussion as they slow down the victim versus flashed guys just spraying back at you at full speed. Plus they last longer until exploding in air..

As others have said you are wasting your 3rd perk since you like to stay in the action. Use stalker on assault rifles or steady aim on subs for hipfire/greater aim pull. If you have a quality headset add dead silence/sitrep pros to that list, footsteps are beautiful.

ASSASSIN, best perk in the game hands down, even more helpful as you trying to find your footing in the game. If you want help getting assault streaks hardline pro, especially with your stingers setup as they count towards streaks.

Blind eye pro is my set it and forget it perk. To much air support not to use it plus you can lock on and shoot shit down alot faster to help your team/streaks.

edit:
Also have you tried the ACR without a dot? It has great sites just add impact/kick and leave the silencer or use attachments with extended and silencer since I told you to turn SoH off.

Most importantly, HAVE FUN!

I assume you want to improve your K:D, which is what most people want when they say "improve." Here are some things to keep in mind: While the PP90 kills fast, it's slightly harder to control at mid/far range than its counterparts the P90 and MP7. In a lot of ways, the P90 and MP7 are far superior to the PP90, so I'd consider switching to those. They are much better from mid/far range and you don't have to reload nearly as much. I prefer the PP90 personally so I can understand if you'd want to keep it. If you do keep it, I'd throw on rapid-fire + silencer or rapid fire + extended mags. It has some of the best iron sights in the game so unless you have to have them, I'd ditch a red dot or whatever other sight you'd use. Fake edit: I see that you've already done rapid fire + silencer. Good.

I'd drop the Stinger since shooting down killstreaks is a big hassle in this game. This isn't like the older games. With the amount of tall structures and the way the maps are structured, even when you go running to look for the killstreaks, you're likely to get killed before you can shoot it down. I'd replace it with probably a machine pistol. Either of the first two are fine and akimbo'd they get kills they shouldn't be getting so I'd recommend that as well.

I'd keep the flash since flash and concussion are equally as slow in this game and flash seems far better than concussion. I'd consider replacing the tactical for a motion sensor. Even if you run around a lot, it can save your ass. I'd also at least consider keeping the frag. The frag and semtax are fairly equal. I'd say the Semtax is better in objective games like domination/headquarters while frags are better when the enemy isn't trying to capture a distinct "point."

Perk 1 is alright. A lot of good choices. I can see why you'd have SoH with the PP90. I also like Extreme Conditioning for rushing (probably not recommended if you're already asking for help without it) or Blind Eye so I don't have to worry about enemy killstreaks. Perk 2 should be Assassin if you want to improve your K:D ratio. Maybe consider switching to Hardline so you can do UAV -> Care Package -> Predator. Perk 3 could be a few things. Dead Silence is the safest option since a lot of better players WILL hear you next to them. Steady aim is okay too, but it's useful at the range the PP90 is already good at so you'll probably win anyway even without it. Stalker is useful if you can get used to it just because it basically lets you aim-sprint. Marksman isn't that useful for a PP90 class since even though you'll see enemies from far range, you won't be able to kill them as easily as they'd kill you.

Definitely change your killstreaks. If you want to do Support, I'd recommend UAV -> Ballistic Vests -> (No Third). This is a pretty powerful setup especially combined with Hardline. Gives your team constant UAVs and Vests. If you want to do assault, I'd go UAV -> Care Package -> Predator Missile. Keep the killstreaks low and you'll be able to maximize the use of them.

Change your deathstreak to probably Final Stand. It's the one most likely to improve your K:D since you might not get a death. Or you can be THAT GUY and pick Dead Man's Hand.

EDIT: Noticed I didn't say anything about your AR class. Pick the Type 95 with Rapid Fire and Red Dot (2 attachments).

Honestly, playing to one extreme or the other, such as strictly running and gunning or camping, isn't always the best way to play even if you're an experienced player( unless you're playing in a party with skilled, like-minded players or you know you can dominate).Play more methodically and learn to adjust to the other team, how the other team plays should dictate how you play to an extent.

How you approach playing and the mindset you play in is important, and one of the easiest things you can change in order to improve.

Edit: To elaborate a bit, play at a pace that doesn't overwhelm you, if you constantly throw yourself in situations you can't manage, you won't get better. Likewise, with camping, you can't get better if you hardly encounter anybody, part of getting better is experience and learning how players react, you can't do either camping all the time.

Personally, I've found that sectoring out a section of the map works best for me. I'll commonly police that underground portion of the Liberation map. Or in Piazza I'll float around the B flag (in Domination) and watch the open street to it's left, using the latticework for cover.

I tend to play mostly domination though, but I find that working an area and consistently moving to (and checking) where enemies may approach will result in kills.

I just got an email saying that I've been given a free Prestige Token because I joined Call of Duty Elite early? I actually didn't sign up for it until January and then bought Elite when the maps came out.

There was a promotion that if you signed up for Premium before the end of January, you got a free Prestige Token. Now that I have 5 custom classes, no more prestiging for me!

Infection is still fun but like everyone else I prefer it was in addition to drop zone and not a replacement. I think it was here but someone mentioned swapping our community game types and then giving them back after all the DLC drops. It was great for ranking up equiptment and shitty guns.

My new strategy on infection has changed. I used to single out one guy and stick on him like glue until infected was chosen then kill him if possible. Now I high tail it to the best camping spot and sometimes you get lucky. I had a massive knife takeout on about 5 guys as a hardhat game started and everyone was clustered at the barrel pile fighting to see who got to jump next. :)

If you reach 10th prestige and decided to reset all stats, do you get all your prestige tokens back for your work in CoD4, WaW, MW2, and BO?

They don't wanna spread the player base too thin. More gamemodes = more matchmaking problems = more lag. Relatively. The same works in reverse as well.

Exactly.

Great game strider, noriega, retquizzle, satchfuji, and that other guy (i forgot his username I think it was xjac or something).

I'm about to upload some of the more ridiculously longshots I got on that mission game.

Is it bad that I've resorted to hardcore for getting gold on my dragonov? It seems like a pretty beast gun in there. Got it to level 21 so far.

WHOW!

Thanks so much folks!
Especially $hady & SmokeMaxX for an in-depth analysis.

Seriously, thanks.
I'll redo my loadouts and see what happens.
Don't worry, my main goal is to enjoy this game (which I am), not to go pro or k/d or whatever. :)

Regards.

Not really. Dragonov is terrible

It's one of those guns where they copy pasted another gun (RSASS) and made almost everything worse

I wish there was a way to deselect the perks you don't want with the Specialist bonus because I'd get rid of Stalker in a heartbeat.

Yep. That's how you know a gun is crappy in this game. When you have to "take it to hardcore."

Haha well if you want to enjoy the game, PP90 + Rapid Fire + Extended Mags and Sleight of Hand. Most fun I have in the game by far (gun-wise anyway).

Don't put a check on it.

But once you hit 7th/8th, you'll get it no matter what.
I assume that's what he meant.

Awesome, Elite just lost any use for me for stats as it is outright inaccurate apparently. Had a game last night where I went 55-2 with a shitload of Defends (Domination). Elite shows I went 44-2 with 0 Defends, and the people I played with verified that I went 55-2. Played the entire game from start to finish as well. Looking over my recent game history as well there are other games that seem slightly off as well. Fucking unbelievable.

Did a weapon switching bug happen during the latest patch? After this patch, i've had my player switching from primary to secondary weapon while playing, but i didnt even touch the weapon switching button. This have happen maybe 6-7 times to me after the patch, i cant remember that it happened before the latest patch.

It's been doing something similar for me too. Every FFA I get 30 kills, Elite shows 26-28; not exactly sure why, either. Perhaps it's not showing kills from one of my killstreaks but that's pretty lame if that's the case.

Content Calendar site has been updated with teaser images and placeholder names for the March DLC (MP Map "Black Box" + 2 Spec Ops missions "Black Ice" and "Negotiator").

Also, I noticed that they replaced game modes with "Classified" on the map. Hopefully, this means they are actually not releasing modes as part of the DLC.
