Can people change?

Or more specifically, can a failure change? Will he/she be a failure for the rest of his/her life?

And what if he/she has no motivation?

No believe in god, or the afterlife. No love for family other then guilt to “repay” the burden he has been? No solid ties to any country or culture or heritage. No friends or anybody other then past ones in recurring images of the (NOT so nice) past that plays over and over and over in his head?

It’s not about me if that’s what anybody is thinking. I’m just exaggerating certain aspects of my life to see how they affect the topic question.

So, what does the GAF think?

People can change as long as they want to and as long as they are not forcing themselves to chage for another person without wanting to.

Autumn turns to winter,
And winter turns to spring.
It doesn't go just for seasons you know,
It goes for everything.

The same is true for voices,
When boys begin to grow.
You gotta take a lesson from Mother Nature,
And if you do you'll know.

When it's time to change (when it's time to change),
Don't fight the tide, go along for the ride,
Don't ya see.
When it's time to change, you've got to rearrange,
Who you are and what you're gonna be.

Day by day you're facing the changes you've been through,
A little bit of living, a little bit of growing all adds up to you.
Every boy's a man inside,
A girl a woman too.
And if you want to reach your destiny,
Then here's what you can do.

When it's time to change (when it's time to change),
Don't fight the tide, go along for the ride,

I firmly believe that someone changing, especially if we're just talking about a mindset, is not easy ... but the only thing that can ultimately stop a person from changing is themself. Never tell yourself something like this is impossible. That's just making an excuse. ;)

Not true. Some people change a lot. Although I think it may be more of a case of eventually discovering your "true self", which may be drastically different from the way you used to be.

No believe in god, or the afterlife.[...]
No solid ties to any country or culture or heritage.
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too

Do you think John Lennon is a failure, too?
