With Rogers buying Fido, it's now an all-out war out there for cells.

Seeing how I'm with Fido, and it hasn't exactly been treating me well these days, I'm thinking of switching to another carrier, and currently Telus is giving away stuff I switch.

I'm thinking about either of the Samsung phones (the SCH A670 or the SCH A600), but I can also go cheap-ass and choose the LG 4600.... I'm not really looking for a cellphone camera right now. The feature I'm looking for mostly is how customizable ringtones are.

Any thoughts on those particular models, or Telus in general?

Be really careful about their fees. Watch the fine print.

These switch deals really piss me off in general.

Yeah, I've been reading up, I'm not ready to shove my phone in their faces and drop my pants. One thing I don't like about Telus, besides their contracts, are the roaming charges - they're really really high compared to some of the others.

I was on Fido pay as you go but it sucked and the phones sucked, and the coverage sucked so I switched to Bell pay as you go and it does everything I need...

Look at it this way...

Everyone says that every carrier sucks, so it's not worth it to rant about cell phone service
