Off topic but I feel this deserves a mention here.

Rigo has to go up two divisions for this right?

For all I know it could end up being boring since both guys a slick, but Loma is the most entertaining offensive fighter in the game today on top of that. Canelo isn't on the same level.

Both guys looked great. Canelo looks like he has a little more to put on by rehydrating than Gennady did, who still had a little water weight to the naked eye. This is not surprising as Canelo was already too big for his favorite 155lb catchweight and put on a lot of muscle during camp while Gennady probably walks around at 170 or so when he's not in camp. I already thought Canelo would come in heavier on fight night, but I'm fairly confident now. Probably won't be a huge difference ultimately. Other than that, both looked in tip-top condition and came in right on the limit - pretty much ideal weigh-in conditions.

GGG's chin is made from steel. Brook smashed him with some massive shots and he took them then literally broke brooks face and has subsequently ended his career.

I'm going TKO GGG In the 8th

Now what's the next step in your master plan?
Kel isn't a heavy hitter

Luckily he's fought more than one person in his career. Seriously though what is it with trying to down play one of the fighters or make it seem like they're not legit or some such. We're all excited for this fight because these are two extremely skilled and exciting fighters to watch in their primes.

A company being excited for their new game is a huge slap in the face to all the fans that liked their old games.

OH. FUCKING. SHIT.

This is the super fight right here.

Rigondeaux is the smarter fighter I think.

But Stevens, Lemieux and Jacobs definitely are.

His chin wasnt tested by Lem, or Jacob's. Stevens caught him with some shots, but it was hardly enough to really test his mettle.

OK...? The post you quote says nothing of Kell. Not sure what you're responding to here.

David Lemieux, Daniel Jacobs, and Curtis Stevens all bang, particularly the former two who both have ~90% KO rates.

Quoted the wrong one, my bad. You're still wrong. See above.

He's one of my favorite foghters, easy. I'm saying his chin wasnt tested by Brook (Lem or Jacob's either). I'm not wrong.

Serious post? Did you watch those fights or...?

Jacobs, Stevens, and Lemieux went 12, 8, and 8 respectively. GGG traded and took flush hits from all three. Jacobs, who has the highest KO rate of all three, caught him a ton. He was in the pocket with him all night. Weird argument to make, TBH. Say whatever you want about Golovkin, but his chin is tested.

Not a huge boxing fan, but those gifs got me hyped. Anyone got a link to a solid backstory write-up? Or do these two have no prior history?

There is no prior history really. Two killers, two of the best P4P fighters on the planet going head-to-head. Golovkin is an old school killer, nicest guy on the planet but an absolute monster. Canelo has been merking fools his entire career
(except Mayweather)

Just two great aggressive, forward-moving fighters finally matching up after a long wait.

Sure.

Of course it wasn't a constant barrage and these were the two best shots Jacobs landed in the entire fight, but these alone could have been more than enough to put to sleep a lot of less resilient opponents.

I feel a lack of trash-talk between them is hurting this fight's sales, even though it's likely to be the best fight of the year.

It being so close to that carny fight 2 weeks ago is what will hurt. I saved my money for this fight but I dont doubt a number of people are still hitting from paying that hundred dollars

Jacob's didn't catch him a ton. Not with the kind of shots that should put him down.

When I think tested, I think the way Kamigai withstood Cotto's disgusting, head-spinning hooks.

I thought Stevens tested it more.

I was about to post this. I remember Stevens caught him with flush, hard as fuck shots and it didn't even affect him at all. Every shot from a strong ass puncher that has ever landed on Golovkin never seemed to do much. He seems to have unreal punching power and chin. Great, slick boxers, like Jacobs, are his weakness.

Agreed. Fast foot work, athelticism, and good ring IQ are his kryptonite

Lots of people don't seem to understand why weight classes exist. Rigo has been knocked down by plenty of MUCH smaller fighters. He is very skilled but skill can't overcome a big size difference when the bigger fighter also is no slouch. It looks good on paper becauses of the names but I think this is a big mismatch.

I'm rooting for GGG, but I think this will go 12 rounds and might be called out a draw just to do it over.
