Capcom announces The Disney Afternoon Collection for PS, XB1 and PC [Port beg = ban]

Only 6 games and most aren't even that good, nostalgia aside. If this had all of Capcom's Disney efforts from both the 8-bit and 16-bit gens then this might have been worth the asking price.

6 games, accurately reproduced with new modes and features and a big museum gallery with concept art and covers and such isn't worth $20? Duck Tales 2 sells between $150 and $200 on eBay. Hell, a cart only Chip 'n' Dale sells for more than the price of this package...

I think you're equating the games' value with the price of a disposable free rom download. It's fine, everyone seems to do it. But games have value damnit. Mega Man Legacy Collection's announcement was met with a lot of complaints of "rom dump", which to me suggests a loss of focus on what games are actually worth. If you're prepared to get the most out of an experience and really give the games a decent try, $20 is going to buy you a lot of fun.

They are all good games and I disagree I think it's absolutely worth the asking price

Wow, this is quite unexpected! Seems like a licensing mine field to navigate through but somehow they did it. Cool to see some of the lesser known sequels and games get included as well and not just the more famous ones.

(Bring on a MMX and SNES Disney collection next please.)

I mean, that's incredibly false. These hold up among the best NES games. Hell, Darkwing Duck is basically a Mega Man game.

Agreed. Hell, I'd happily pay $30 for this collection. I never thought these games would see the light of day again, but here we are. Good on Capcom.

It's a good idea, but for me my favourite Disney games were quackshot, Aladdin, also loved World of Illusion. Very easy but good two player.

The fact that these games are hard and expensive to come by if you don't emulate them is one of the few things going in this collection's favor, yeah.

It's hard to ignore the fact that NES roms are stupid-easy to obtain and are the way the majority of people have been playing these games for years. It's maybe not "fair", but it's reality.

I don't think 6 fairly short and, if I'm being honest, pretty by-the-numbers games are worth $20 unless they new modes do a lot to up the value. The Endurance mode in Megaman Legacy Collection sure didn't.

Look, when you have collections like Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection (50+ of some of the Genesis' most loved titles) already existing, Capcom needs to do better.

Biggest news is that Capcom got the disney rights again ... I wonder if they are tied to the Marvel ones ....

MAYBE THEY ARE DOING THIS SO PEOPLE REMEMBER THAT SCROOGE IS A CAPCOM CHARACTER FOR MARVEL VS CAPCOM INFINITE =O

Or maybe we get a Moana game in the style of monster hunter

I said "most". Darkwing Duck is legitimately great, if over a tad too quickly. Most of the others though? Nothing too special outside of nostalgia for the characters. Duck Tales is alright but it's no Super Mario Bros 3/Kirby's Adventure/Megaman 3-6/Shatterhand/Bionic Commando/Castlevania 3/etc.

outta nowhere!
I was straight port begging for these on Master System in the day, but at least we eventually got Lucky Dime Caper.

That'd be really hype, actually. I'd loved to see some new tie-in games to Disney's recent movies, as long as they're actually good and not just mobile shovelware.

I wanted MMX collection but Disney is fine too.

Knowing Capcom, they'd just give us X1-6 again. I never played 8 but I heard it was okay. Wouldn't mind seeing a new X collection as long as more was put into it than Legacy Collection.

So many great memories from all of those shows. I miss them so much!

I totally remember playing a lot of the Duck Tales game, even before the remaster. I think I might have played the Darkwing Duck one too.

Good reminder I need to throw in my old Darkwing Duck DVD set again one of these days and watch some eps when I've got nothing to do.
Been a while since I threw in any of these shows and the old great origin Gizmoduck thing from later in Duck Tales.

My kingdom for a Capcom rerelease of Mickey Mouse's Magical Quest as well. Everyone gushes about Sega's Castle of Illusion but my defining Disney game was Magical quest on snes. God I love that game!!! Throw it in with its sequel, Goof Troop, Aladdin and whatever else Capcom worked with Disney on snes (which compared to the NES it wasn't a lot).

The Little Mermaid is better than TaleSpin!!
By a couple light years, even! Sadly that one wouldn't fit with the Disney's afternoon motif :(

Expect its rerelease around the time Disney releases in theaters the inevitable Little Mermaid live action remake.

It doesn't matter who we are, what matters is our plan.
I won't port beg, but can I game-beg? When are we going to get The Lion King playable on current gen consoles??

Another Disney game not made by Capcom. I don't know, ask Virgin Games? If they even exist.

Get it together, GAF!

Yeah I thought it might not have been Capcom. I'd be interested in who owned those rights, ultimately.

We should be friends!

I can't understand the love CoI gets compared to what Magical Quest gets. Capcom's take on Mickey featured everything from Megaman, Super Mario and even Bionic Commando. And with a kickass soundtrack as well! The only shitty thing is its ending which is a total cop out. I hate it now as much as I hated it in 1992.
