If you do, you should condemn the use of "harassment" as excuse for every little thing, otherwise no one will take it seriously when it's actually something dangerous rather than some mean social media message or rude costumer support email.
No one ask to you to feel bad. But insult or menace it's something shouldn't be encouraged. Just use your brain before make such assumption. If shitting about optimization everywhere you can is considering as threating, then yes, please do.
And if some dumbass on twitter did threat them, so what? This happens to every game that has ever come out. You can't do anything about it. But i bet you Capcom considers people complaining about how trash tier their game runs as a threat, and i am supposed to feel bad? It's not happening, they can fk off.
"Threats" is another word that lost it's meaning due to overuse. Afaik, without knowing the specific content, it could be some internet rando showing hostility without any credible evidence of being capable of such.Capcom flat out said there were threats. End of story. Bringing up others' behavior is irrelevant, especially as all that's accomplishing is shifting the focus and blame to the assholes who are making the threats.
"well", makes it sound like you're trying to deflect or something, in any case it wasn't even about "gambling/addiction", they got upset about a video made for western fans; the game could've had zero gacha and the reaction would've been the same.Well its a casino/gambling game who makes its fortune at the costs of whales and addiction... so ... yep the real crazys and/or desperate will comeout.
Very few cases actually manifest into actual physical attacks, because Japan take online threats seriously. Capcom, Square Enix etc take legal action/report to authorities and individuals are dealt with accordingly. But the threats are real and should be taken seriously. It's not snowflake fake drama when some stranger is saying they're going to kill you and things of that nature, they're not just directed at the business, but specific employee social spaces.Hunnn it can be .. can you point to me the examples of japanese gaming devs being attacked in real life ? I tried to search and couldn't comeout with much.
Because the online "harassment" I have no doubt is true .. and Im sorry but I cant be bothered by the snowflake online fake drama.
Not trying to deflect anything.. its a fact that dealing with money gambling anything envolves more dangers than "regular" things."well", makes it sound like you're trying to deflect or something, in any case it wasn't even about "gambling/addiction", they got upset about a video made for western fans; the game could've had zero gacha and the reaction would've been the same.
There are terrible "fans" everywhere.

Did they make credible threats? Send the shit to the police, cause if they're looking for sympathy by saying this out loud, they ain't getting anymore, not after all this time of misuse.
MTF situation was no better, in fact it was the exact same, it wasn't build for large open areas either, and they heavily retooled it for version 2.x so it could work for dragon's dogma...which ran terribly.believe Capcom should have retained the MT Framework engine they'd used for MH: World and served as a basis for a new engine that can handle such large, open-world-like environments. What they did with RE Engine is a case of mismanagement and overestimating the difficulties this engine can handle.
I can't even … Someone at Capcom thought they should be giving a lecture on the subject vs attending one!?They actually titled their lecture "Making Monster Hunter Wilds run smoothly! Everything you need to know about optimization"?

Nobody is encouraging this. And if some mentally ill individual does threat them, we can't do anything about it, and when you're in the public, you want it or not, it will happen. No one ask to you to feel bad. But insult or menace it's something shouldn't be encouraged. Just use your brain before make such assumption.
Sorry.... we will disagree here.. since for me its snowflake fake drama. If this story evolves to some public arrest or something ill change my instance. If Its just fucking nothing as usual.. its fake dramaVery few cases actually manifest into actual physical attacks, because Japan take online threats seriously. Yeah, and that was 100% tots the reason, and most definitely not because of how stupid they realize they'd look lecturing about optimization in one of the worst optimized games from recent times. The lecture was likely known to at least some news outlets, so they had to explain why it was cancelled.
it's ok, you clearly have more than enough digital thoughts and prayers currency to give in my stead. And yes, you've made it very clear you have no sympathy here. You're very stunning and brave.
Found the DLC. DD2 saved.I like most Capcom games, but I got burned with Dragons Dogma 2. Only a DLC may save that game, if they even bother with it, and next gen consoles to resolve the performance issues seems like. I am not gonna buy any more day 1 Capcom games, and they have only themselves to blame for this.
RE XMTF situation was no better, in fact it was the exact same, it wasn't build for large open areas either, and they heavily retooled it for version 2.x so it could work for dragon's dogma...which ran terribly.
I think a lot of people forgot how badly both DD and MHW ran on consoles because they played them on pc, DD would frequently dip below 30 in action or cities, on the PS3 it was especially bad and it hit as low as ~18 fps just walking around gran soren.
MHW used this retooled version of MTF, with some more improvements, and while the PC version ran better, it still ran really bad unless you had some of the best hardware.

The next version of the RE engine, RE X, should improve in this area a lot.

Dont care, game runs like ass for how It looks, If anyone at Capcom think they did a great job they didnt.I haven't played Monster Hunter Wilds. I don't know how well it plays. But the way these conferences work is they send out calls for topics and people who worked on certain things and want to get their work in front of an audience of peers submit topics, that then get chosen.
Somebody worked on MH Wild optimization. We don't know how it ran before that person did the optimization work. We also don't know if the person is happy with the state of the game or what they think could be done further. We don't know what they will incorporate in the topic. It's a professional presentation for people who are faced with similar challenges in the real world, a real world where you usually can't do everything you want within the time and resources allotted... it's not some ComicCon fan glazing session.
"Capcom, much like their engine, cannot handle an open world."I dunno I feel like they they made a presentation they planned on canceling from the beginning because track record has shown they aren't interested in optimizing their games and doubling down on an engine that simply cannot handle openworld or sandbox games.
They do you just don't hear about them. I mean, can you really call it snowflake fake drama when it is a criminal offence in most countries to threaten someone's life? Just because a threat doesn't physically materialise doesn't mean it isn't real or harmful. A lot of cases like these end up with arrests and court cases, and the public statements from Capcom and SE (harassment policies) are substantially backed statements. The idea is to stop things escalating before they escalate into physical violence. And when there is an absence of violence, it isn't necessarily proof that the threats are fake, it's actually proof that the systems to protect there staff from online harassment work.Sorry.... we will disagree here.. since for me its snowflake fake drama. If this story evolves to some public arrest or something ill change my instance. If Its just fucking nothing as usual.. its fake drama
From your point of view, is there a world where both are possible?Yeah, and that was 100% tots the reason, and most definitely not because of how stupid they realize they'd look lecturing about optimization in one of the worst optimized games from recent times.
Making Monster Hunter Wilds run smoothly! Everything you need to know about optimization
Tbf yeah. Though there's a high likelihood it was something like "This user xxMankoSureiyaxx said they were going to kill this dev's dog, let's use that as an excuse to cancel the lecture and hide our incompetence"From your point of view, is there a world where both are possible?
