Capcom reveals new Mega Man X, cancels joke, makes a figure, KS funded (Summer 2015)

I think I'll try to back this once the KS goes up...

Fig looks great, despite it being a small consolation that a new Mega Man game (whether it's X, mainline or another spin-off) will probably never be made again.

TruForce is a new and relatively small company. I don't see what's wrong with needing a Kickstarter here -- it'll help cover costs, reduce risks.
 
I'm super curious about that Rider Chaser Print. If it's really good quality I may have to go for that Figure + Shirt + Print tier. Mmmm.
 
The figure looks nice but I'm worried about it being a new company and the proportion size is weird. The renders look great but the prototype figure looks too skinny. I'm not sure but I'll wait for the full release just to be safe
 
$80 is a bit too much especially with international shipping and the terrible euro-dollar exchange rate. If they made a version without diecast for $50 I would have bought it.

I feel exactly the same. I really want this!
But its a bit too expensive, sadly.
 
Are figurines really so expensive to produce? 200k required seems incredibly steep? That's like several times more than many indie games set as their goal
 
Am I the only one who don't like that design at all? .Why all those leds on his body? He looks like a Disney's Tron character.
I hate when they try to make a desin cooler by adding unnecessary details. Less is more.

Figure production is incredibly costly. You have to think of the molds, produce them, color them, etc. Sure, the diecast is a bit unnecessary, but I don't mind.

I think the design is absolutely wonderful, which is why we were all upset that the effort went toward an April Fools joke instead of a new X game.
 
I might be getting both colors.....damn tempting because it look really good and X is like my first favorite character.
 
Ive replaced Capcom in my life with Koei and Namco products. Fuck companies that mock their fans, and release DLC as detrimental as some of the stuff the pulled like Gems and game endings. Thats not even including all the rest of the under delivering and sloppy work they've done.

I'll miss the franchises, but not the company. May they go under and be bought by someone who gives a damn about their audience like Nintendo.
 
Update #3 - Blast Effect Update!

Hi All,

The effect parts for our figure have been approved by Capcom so we can now share official pictures with you all!

Just to clarify, the effects are combinable. That means they are separated into three parts where you can connect just two or all three together (creating one huge mega blast). They will be cast in yellow translucent plastic and have cool shading painted on so that way when they attach to the cannon, and you turn the LED on, it will give off a ‘glowing effect’ like the blast is alive and charging. Very cool stuff!

The variant colors (the $230) tier will be cast in red translucent plastic.

Update #9 - Hi Res Images of X straight from Toy Fair!
Just wanted to share these beautiful images of X as he was shown at New York Toy Fair. Now that I'm back on high speed Internet I can include them directly on here :) He's really beautiful in person. The inner workings in his leg and calf area look incredible and work so seamlessly. You can also extend his leg down further for even more dynamic poses. We have 10 days left -- let's make these days count! We can do it. Keep sharing the word, upping your pledge amount or get doubles of your favorite tier!

Update #12 - Rider Chaser Illustration

Hey guys,

Just wanted to give you an update on the Ride Chaser print. I know it's been one of the items you haven't seen yet. The reason is because it's still being worked on and Capcom would prefer to reveal it when it's fully complete (which should be mid March). I've been told it's going to look really cool with X standing at the Ride Chaser's side! The Ride Chaser will be a completely unique design and serve as the basis for the next companion product to X. We'd like to create a new set of hands for X that can grip the handlebars. Picture your X figure riding the new Chaser as an awesome alternative pose...very cool!

I don't get the need for the t-shirt and the print, but it looks like they're aiming to make a Ride Chaser companion vehicle for X. Could be pretty neat!
 
Only a few hours left! Don't forget about those sweet sweet red effects parts. Mmm.
