I burned through all the really good Marvel movies over the last couple weeks. I'm so thirsty for sustenance I'm debating throwing in Thor 2

The cinematography is at least top notch.

Do yourself a favor and watch some of the TV stuff instead.
Thor 2 is the best modern remake of Krull ever.

Having said that, you could just watch Krull instead. It is awesome, cheesy fun!

I'm in the minority, but I like that movie for what it is. It's obviously not in the top half of Marvel movies, but it's not the steaming pile some would have you believe.

Then again I enjoy most of what I watch since I'm a glass is half full kinda guy.

I actually like Thor 2 as well. It isn't going to top any lift of best comic films, but I still enjoy it. Also: KURSE!

Watch Legend instead

Tim Curry > Malekith

Legend is very pretty, but very flawed. I need to watch the director's cut, because i feel it would fix most issues i had with the film. I picked it up on blu ray months ago and have yet to christen it.

Nah, it's definitely not terrible. It's just not something I get a ton of enjoyment from.

I like all the Marvel stuff, but what can I say, I enjoy cheesy stuff. My favorite details in Raimi's Spider-Man movies are all the "look, it's Spider-Man" *points finger to the air* and the "I'm your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man" quotes. Not that I want everything to be like that, obviously serious/dark stuff is welcome, but to many people the above is some kind of deal breaker and to me... it just makes me like it even more.

It's been a while since I last saw it, and I haven't been able to see both versions and compare them. Apparently the whole score is different so that would make a difference right off the bat.

I remember liking it a lot when I was a kid, but I was into anything fantasy/sci fi I could get my hands on.

I saw Legend as a kid and don't remember much of anything from it. My wife and I watched it last year on HBO and thought it was okay, but with some tweaks could be better. After reading up on the directors cut changes, it seems like it will fix almost every issue we had with it.

On the other hand, I convinced her to watch Krull one night on Netflix. I hadn't seen that since I was a kid, and I remembered it being really cheesy and silly. So, we got some booze and fired it up. I sold it as, "Let's watch some bad 80s fantasy! Cmon, the alcohol will help!"
We didn't drink much because we didn't need it. By the end, we were both like, "That was actually pretty badass."
Now we watch it every few months. It is cheesy and all that, but Krull is still a lot of fun.

The Thor movies are straight up unwatchable to me. They are without a doubt the worst films to come out of Marvel studios by far and on the same tier as films like Daredevil and Green Lantern (IMO of course). Even Incredible Hulk, though a weak movie, is leagues ahead of the first Thor movie. Speaking of which, I really want to see Edward Norton's original cut of Incredible Hulk, complete with the suicide attempt in front of Captain America's frozen body.

I really liked the Asgard stuff in Thor 1 and 2.

But man, the insistence on that awful Earth cast ruins most of Thor 2 and the latter half of Thor 1.

I'd actually be excited if they somehow got rid of Portman and co. for Ragnarok but I don't think even Hulk can save a movie with that shitty cast taking up so much screen time.

Whoever thought to give Kat Dennings an even larger role in Thor 2 deserves to be fired. If Kat Dennings is confirmed for Thor 3, it's going to take a lot of Hulk to hype me up for that movie.
