Please be good like Winter Soldier and not bad like AoU.

Then again, this isn't even really a Captain America movie since like all the Avengers are in it. I should curb my enthusiasm now while there's still time.

Its wierd how CA has become my favorite of the MCU. I didnt know jack about the comics so back when the first CA was announced I was thinking it was gonna be "FUCK YEAH AMERICA!" kinda thing. But it wasnt. And Chris Evans was absolutely phenomenal as CA.

I hope he isnt retiring from the role anytime soon.

Ross walking to an imprisoned Abomination? Might we see the Thunderbolts forming in this film, when Stark appears to have failed bringing Steve in?
Cap and Falcon are picked up by the German police, I think Ross walks in to the facility where the German police are holding them. Look at the cops in the trailer, it's all Polizei.

Btw, I believe Coulson mentioned that Abomination is held somewhere in Alaska on AoS.

Trailer in German, for those who care:

EDIT: Title in Germany:
Civil%20War%20-%20logo%20in%20Germany.png

It is almost: Avenger Civil War :-D
Are other countries using the same title?
Just Germany. When they made the first film they named the film "The First Avenger" in certain countries like Germany and Russia because they thought that putting 'America' in the title would have a negative impact on its reception in those territories. After the first film became a succes only the German versions lacked the original title.

I think the perfect way to show a bunch of cameos from other shows is this.

Have a scene of the president or whoever announcing the implementation of the registration act and what the rules and consequences are all while they show a montage of scenes of all these random "gifted" people being captured by agents. Play sad music while this is happening.

Bam! Agents of shield cameo! Bam! Marvel Netflix characters! Bam! New characters we never seen yet! Bam Spider-Man escaping the agents!

the more I watch the trailer the more Cap comes off as a selfish asshole

Or maybe its just not black and white like that. Maybe he's just happy he has his friend back after all this time, a link to that past he left behind and maybe a happier time for him.

I can't wait for this movie, I love it and I love the MCU.

The first Captain America movie is called "Captain America - The First Avenger" in Germany, as it is in the U.S.A. and most countries, I guess.
Whoever was responsible at Marvel or Paramount back then had no problem with the Captain America title in Germany.

Well the forces breaching the door at the beginning of the trailer are wearing a black overall with a green vest and very clearly the German flag on their left arm. These soldier don't. And Abomination was considered to show up in Age of Ultron, so perhaps they used him in this film for a small cameo.

Here is the quote of Tim Roth about possibly showing up in AoU:

“They were going to do it. They did do that. They were thinking, in The Avengers 2 or something. There was a movie we could do that at one point, but way back when. It just kind of got swept under the carpet I guess. That would be hilarious.”

Looks cool. I'm not a comics reader (I probably should be) but when I hear "Civil War," I think of a long, on-going saga with lots of turns and plot developments.

This seems like it will be a one-off event, kind of like Age of Ultron is "Roughly Two Weeks of Ultron." I know it's just a reality of big budget movies and the way the MCU is set up... but it does make me wish the whole thing was a high-budget TV series that can develop a more intricate story.

A good middle ground might be to have specials for the TV programs they do have which tie into the events of the movies.

Bucky was under mind control. What's Tony's excuse for his constant world-threatening fuckups?

All I want for this movie is to drop the last third of the movie doomsday crap. Fight all you want, but keep the stakes small. I don't want to see them saving the world in every. damn. movie.

Ant Man was a delight in that regard and had the best third act of most of the Marvel Movies. Winter Soldier was really good until they launched the 3 Heli-Carriers and it became a CGI fest for the end where everyones live was at stake again.
The characters are good enough to carry the movie - even through a final where they don't have to safe the world.

That said, the trailer looks nice - even if I still don't buy them fighting their issues out.
So in my head for this to work needs a serious, personal reason for Stark to fight against Cap. Could War Machine be killed by accident by Bucky and Tony can't get over Cap standing by Bucky's side?

Looks dope. I love what the Russos are doing, even if a part of me knows they're gonna take decades off their lives directing Winter Soldier, this and the Infinity Wars movies back to back.

the more I watch the trailer the more Cap comes off as a selfish asshole

Seems to me that he just want to help his friend, consequences be damned.

Tony is the asshole here by being a lapdog to whoever he's answered for. Unless of course he has some personal stake at capturing or killing Bucky.
We didn't see any of that in this trailer though.

Hmmm seems I got my films mixed, probably because they went with 'Return of the First Avenger' for TSW in Germany.

Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaang!!!

You know what i loved about the trailer? There werent any crazy huge titanic CG scenes, it was pretty much about the characters.
Hopefully the movie is focused on them characters.
And shirtless Thor

why do people constantly forget that Wanda head-fucked Tony into using the staff for the whole Ultron thing, he should be constantly castigated but its ok that Bucky murdered his parents because well, it was mind control
