Hey guys, I had a question. I know Captain America's Adamantium/Vibranium shield is supposed to be one of the hardest if not THE hardest substance in the Marvel universe, (If it's not the hardest BTW, what is?) but has anything ever penatrated it or totally destroyed it. I've been out of comics for almost 8 years and I used to think that nothing could penatrate it

Thanos used the Infinity Gauntlet or something to kill half of the universe.

Iron Man broke open the shield and stuck gadgets and crap into it to make Captain America more powerful or something.

Hulk broke it in an Alternate Universe.

It was shattered during the very first Secret War miniseries wayyyy back when, but then was put back together threw sheer FORCE OF WILL thanks to a "wish factor" or something.

But yeah, the shield's a tough mamma jamma by itself.

It was broken 3 times that I can remember in the normal continum, that I know of. During the Secret Wars, the first one and during one of the Infinity Guantlet things. Both times it was done by people who had just attained power on the level of being a God. Dr. Doom in the Secret Wars and Thanos. Recently, as in I beieve mid to late 90s, it was destryed but I don't know what happened. That is when he started using the energy shield. I have no clue how he got his new shield. As the shield has been destryed numorous ways in alternate time lines and What if stories.

Basically, it simply fell apart in time due to a flaw in it. Not really exciting. It got put back together when he fought Klaw with a ducktaped shield, iirc.

I thought King Thor denting Cap's shield was the best part of that story myself.

Anyone remember Guardian of the Galaxy and their quest for the shield? It become the holy grail in the year 3000, which I always thought was an awesome idea.
