This was designed as 3 animated movies 10 years ago.
The moment the Netflix thing came up there was already a 2nd season confirmed.
Only real news was a bump from 4 to 8 episodes recently.
Okay, ignore all that then... It STILL doesn't justify most of the repeated exposition, especially the scene with Belmont being called to the church.
I think I've at the very least made my case pretty well here...
- It's out of character for the Bishop to offer aid to "heretics" like Belmonts.
- The scene only reiterates things we already know, namely Belmonts are excommunicated, the seekers are going to be killed by villagers at dark, and the Bishop is corrupt.
- The scenes drags on long, and even the interaction between Belmont and the Bishop was pretty weak.
It's not the only scene like this, but it is the most egregious.
