Yeah, that's Cyberpunk Next, unfortunately on Unreal 5. I think that's mostly NA studio(s) as well for that now.![]()
Is Orion the next Cyberpunk?
Yes. It's being developed in a completely new studio located in Boston. Apart from some core senior employees who moved from Poland, the vast majority of the team will be new hires (mostly from the NA, I assume). Is Orion the next Cyberpunk?
GOG wouldn't be under CDPR staffing. It's a subsidiary that lives alongside CD Projekt Red under CD Projekt.Edit: I wonder if this includes GoG under Shared Services.
These large AAA games are way too expensive to depend on only next gen launch with limited user base and PC.CDPR stuck making cross gen games every generation? I'd rather they take a couple more years and make it a proper next gen one (probably gonna happen if "not before 2027" is their estimate anyway)

And now Cyberpunk is made in a Boston studio which is AAA+ sort of cash required.
Not sure if it's more $$$ vs LA , but yeah, one of most expensive in US. Weird target for a new studio. Surprised they didn't go to cheaper places in TX or other US locations.A Studio in Boston? Are they mad?
Like Boston is more expensive than LA.

I just don't understand how it can take over 400 people more than 5 years to make a game? Those are rookie numbers. How many consultants?
Those are crazy numbers. Yet we are so far away from release. Seriously, why do we need so many people and so much time to make a game?
I don't think those numbers include voice actors, only full-time employees. Also, it's not 400+ employees for the entire development cycle. During the first year or two, they usually have around 100 people and then scale up as the game leaves pre-production.I just don't understand how it can take over 400 people more than 5 years to make a game?
I suppose the voice acting and translation for a game like The Witcher must be a huge task, but still..
You have to make all the assets which is a huge task for a game of such size as TW3/CP2077.I just don't understand how it can take over 400 people more than 5 years to make a game?
It's one of the simpler ones actually as it's usually done when the game is already in beta and all content is basically produced.I suppose the voice acting and translation for a game like The Witcher must be a huge task, but still..
Because they are less talented than the devs from 10 years ago.I just don't understand how it can take over 400 people more than 5 years to make a game?
