Still think Weis was a good hire and would have done well his second year. He lit up Alabama that year when our QB was healthy. Went down hill as injuries piled up. Pease was definitely an error in judgement. Muschamp just had a hard on for Boise's offense.

Don't really think he turned away any recruits. We actually recruited well in 2013. Lost some ballers last year, but that's cos the offense was struggling.

lit up is 1 pass, and being down multiple scores when Upshaw obliterated Brantley.

He better light up Papuchis too. Our secondary today was abysmal. We got saved on soooooooo man dropped McNeese State passes where there was no one around to even stop them. Poor tackling, poor coverage. Defense was a mess today.

The inability of the staff as a whole to make necessary adjustments to opponent's gameplans for the past few years has meant that you see a lot of the same stuff being called (and working) against Nebraska year in and year out. Hopefully we'll see a shift in thinking on the staff this year.

Becks pkaycalling was shit but the way the o-line was run blocking, it limits your options. That's the most worrying thing from the game, the o-line play. And losing Turner. The rest is melodrama.

The line wasn't playing great but there were plenty of times where Mcneese St. was bringing 2 more guys than we had to block and you'd see Ameer or whoever making first contact in the backfield or at the line because guys were coming through clean. They either needed to bring in another back to provide an additional blocker or reemphasize the QB run game. That's if they are dedicated to sticking to that spread look. They could always go to something like an Ace formation to help alleviate the blocker-defender number disparity.

John freaking Brantley had 190 passing yards in one half. How many times have you guys given up that many passing yards in a half? Got to give Weis credit for that.

Also, don't think it's fair to say Weis didn't develop our QBs. Brantley made a lot of progress, and Driskel and Brissett were both really raw (or not a great fit for pro-style in Driskel's case). You go all in on Brantley in that situation. But whatever. Doesn't matter now.

Roper is definitely a lot better than Pease.

Sitting in Carter Finley right now. Terribly afraid NC State shit is going to flair up and ODU ends up kicking our asses.

Brantley did ok but injury or not, wasn't a great QB.

broken ankle most likely for Florida guy. Trainer looking at ankle, he was rolled up in the play, and they're busting out the air cast.

Flashback to 2010, but if he got 190 in the 1 half he played, and 70/80 of it came on one play (admittedly, a good pass and sloppy coverage by Kirkpatrick), only means 100 for the rest of the half. OK, but isn't an all star performance.

Switched over to the Ole Miss/Vandy game and see Vandy defensive player literally rip the facemask off Ole Miss RB's helmet.

Just wanted to add this: It's nice to see all the Huskers in the thread even if it's for another day of Heart Attack Husker football.

SMU gets a garbage time TD with just as time expires in the 4th. First score of the season for them. They had been outscored by opponents 88-0 until that last second TD
Yeah, it was a crazy catch, considering there were 3-4 of our guys right around him. The ponies were getting beat so badly, we had some guys in the game for the last quarter who weren't even on the roster in the program.

Only reason we are in this is because Tulane's QB likes to throw picks all day.

Meanwhile the rest of the ACC is penciling in a W against us.

those are midgame adjustments, tho. Ain't no body got time fo that!
Especially Beck

Speaking of the secondary, Cooper is a fucking bust. What a huge disappointment. I had such high expectations for that guy too. Fucking wrap up, dumbass. Go watch tape of Mike Brown or something.

You mean they didn't already have that shit written down in Sharpie before the season even started?
