I think the biggest thing about Mariota that people that don't watch Oregon miss is how patient he is in the pocket. He was immediately a more patient pocket passer in his first season than Dixon, Darron Thomas, and short fatty were in their final seasons. Guy just knows how to dodge guys within the pocket.

He can also throw a football, so that gives him an immediate advantage over Thomas and Masoli.
