Chapter 1 of Tell Me Why is now FREE across all platforms

This is a great way of saving people money, it's unlikely you'll buy it after trying it.
Why, is it worse than Captain Spirit? (They also did that and I only could take that for about 20 minutes of nothing happening and looked up spoilers to find out nothing happens except right at the end and it isn't worth it.)

I wouldn't say it's worse, but captain spirit was a demo / tie-in. This is the actual game. Or rather, "game". It's not bad, it's just not anything.

Despite being an anti-woke bigot, I really enjoyed Life is Strange. Is this game good?

Same sort of storytelling, obviously no rewind mechanic. Some of the puzzles are good. It has its own mechanics though like POV memories and a shared voice through telepathy.

It is a lot more preachy that the first game and there are a few lines that feel they are just there to rub our noses in how 'super clever' the devs are. But they stick out horribly because they just seem so out of place - like the references to Escher for example. They ruin dialogue and monologues because they don't flow right.

The trans stuff is a part of it obviously but only as something that supports the main 'mystery'. There are strands of the story that overlap and there's the token 'bigot' of course.

If you go in to nitpick you'll probably drop it. If you go in with the above in mind and just want something different for 10 hours you might get a decent enough experience.

If LiS was an 8 to me, then Tell Me Why is like a 6.5/7. It's not as compelling, it's not as gripping and the narrative isn't as strong. But if you just want to waste a few hours with a story that flows and has a few interesting hooks then you might find it fits that purpose

Yep. I really liked the first Life is Strange, but I could not even finish the first Chapter of this on GamePass.

I really like Dontnod. I enjoyed Remember Me, Life is Strange, and Vampyr. I didn't fully make it through LiS 2.

I hope their next game is something I will want to play.

It's a decent game... No where near the greatness that life is strange was but worth a try. If you do not care for the LGBT community tho you probably won't like it. If that doesn't bother you, the story is interesting.

Tell me Why Dontnod only makes these shitty story games? oh I know why, because the casual crowd eats them up...
they started so promising with Remember Me, a ultimately very flawed game but something you could built upon :/

from making a scifi, Cyberpunk-esque game set in future france with a neat concept for it's combo mechanics...

to games that are basically visual novels with bad animation mixed in... yay

Reviews on Steam are very good. Kinda surprised to see so many negative and nasty comments here.

if people like games that are clearly catering to people who barely play video games and are very shallow in their mechanics... then I guess it's for them

Not sure what you tried to say with this post but it sounded like you are generalizing and being ignorant.

We should all play this game, to get a better understanding of transgender people. It's

That's what happens when you blow it with your first game, and have to find easy targets that will bring you back from the brink of almost getting shutdown. Other devs weren't so fortunate.

This game was a major downfall to what Life is Strange is about and what made it perfect to play. The story was nice and touching but the execution was bad.

And this is why I love GamePass though, I tried it months ago and confirmed I wouldn't spend money on it unfortunately...

i don't want it.

the only good thing this stupid ass studio ever made is Life Is Strange season 1.

A comment in this thread made me think about my impending "Unconscious Bias Training" so I'm going to take Homer Simpson's advice for getting out of jury duty and apply it there:

I'd also like to believe I'm not prejudiced against anybody in particular. I hate all people equally.
