Without the context of nothing anything about your rig, it's sort of impossible to know if that's a bad thing or not. PC could mean many many different things.Played a bit of PC demo. Runs pretty smoothly for PS4 graphics () but kind of heavy on a 7800x3d/5080.
It was struggling a little on 4K/60.

Trails games aren't for everyone. There's (typically) a LOT of talking and exposition, which initially can turn ppl off...but if you stick with, it the combat and world building/Lore usually makes up for it.
It's basically the MCU equivalent of JRPGS (in the good sense)

I played 30-something hours back in the day, but didn't finish it.
I don't think I can do this kind of game anymore. The tired shounen anime tropes, the protagonist's high-pitched voice, the VA with unnatural pauses after every line, conversations that go on for like 2-3x as long as they need to.
I am no longer worthy of my title.

Yes I rushed through this game because I didn't get what they were trying to do. I was just trying to get to the good part. After SC I got it and took my time with the rest of the games. Now I normally just go for plat to get the full experince.

I did state CPU/GPU: "7800x3d/5080". Throw in 870e Asus motherboard, DDR5 6000 (expo enabled), PCIE4 SSDs (Samsung, WD). So decent box, and I run Cyberpunk better, lol.

The budget for their Trails games has been going up since they started becoming popular in the West. It started looking decent with the Cold Steel series. The Daybreak series looked even better and now the Trails remake looks even better than that.

Yeah and really liking the overall aesthetics, this remake is gonna be best way for me to finally get in to the series.

1. Copied from my last OT: the Trails series is a long-running franchise of role-playing video games developed by Nihon Falcom. These games are known for their deep storytelling, world-building, complex characters, and strategic turn-based combat systems. The Trails series is divided into arcs, each focusing on different regions, characters, and storylines, but they are all set in the same shared world.
2. There are 12 games released in the West currently. The next one, Trails Beyond the Horizon is going to come out early next year.
3. No, but Kondo, the president of Falcom and series director, said we are in the final part of the series. But don't believe his lies.
4. We don't know, but it's highly likely that they are going to remake the sequel of Sky FC at least (Trails in the Sky SC).
5. Each arc is self-contained, while the overall story is interconnected. Events from past games are always referenced, and characters from past games can have massive impact on the story. There are a few good starting points, but the optimal starting point is Trails in the Sky FC.
6. Hell yeah, Trails is a unicum when it comes to videogames. No other series has come close to this level of interconnectedness, and that is actually the main appeal of the series.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
- There are 13 games in the series, this is a remake of the first one
- The series isn't finished, the next game is rumored to close out the current arc (but unknown if that will actually be the end of the series)
- The first 5 games in the series were originally released on PSP. Two of those five games are already on modern consoles (Trails From Zero, Trails to Azure). The three games not available on modern consoles are the three games from this story arc. No news on whether the other two will be remade, but it's looking extremely likely that the second game will at least.
- The story is split into "arcs", that are kind of complete stories. I say kind of, because characters and settings from previous arcs usually play a big part in these. Most people recommend starting at the beginning (which is now this new remake).
- I'd say it's worth getting into if you're a fan of long / dialog heavy JRPGs. The stories and characters are fantastic, and the world feels incredibly lived in. The deeper into the series you get, the more payoff you get.
