Chapter 2: Sharkasourous

Sharkasourous:

My favorite Mario Enemy is Broozer. Wait aren't we supposed to be talking about Sharkasourou- I'LL GET THERE. Anyways, Broozer is my favorite simply for the fact that he's a menace. Already, he's pissed and will charge at you, and the boxing gloves go a long way in giving him more personality. There's also the fact that he can break through blocks and it takes 3 hits just to get rid of him, like the dude's strong! This man needs more attention. I don't know why he's so underused; he would've been great for Mario Kart World.

2022:

So one day, I stumbled across a new user named Sharkasourous, whose primary interest in art was retro games, which he took great pride in. Even his OC for a while was just a Donkey Kong Country sprite, tho his second OC iteration was cooler, being Pyoro from WarioWare. To describe his personality, think of it like a simple class clown, but waaayyy more relaxed. There are days when the community would huddle around, discussing whatever, then there's Sharkasourous in the corner, cracking a good joke or two. He was chill, everyone liked him for that. However, he always stayed strict with his principles. One of the most notable ones was his hatred for follow-for-follow accounts. It's one of those cheap tactics where if you follow a bunch of random users, like a bunch bunch, statistically speaking, those users will follow you back, and thus the more you follow, the more you gain, and it's a very notorious tactic exploited in my old site. So much so that follow-for-follow users would just embrace it and use it as their advantage, with their profile and usernames just stating their goal, "FOLLOW4FOLLOW" and the worst part is that it actually works. A person would follow 20,000 random users, and would end up with 4000-5000 followers in less than a few weeks or so, and not that much cared shockingly, . . . except for Sharkasourous, understandably speaking. Like you put so much effort in your work, trying to earn REAL support and then some scum can outnumber you in a few days just because he made 10,000 users happy, it's really disheartening. So yeah, the guy literally went ahead and made his own group in the site dedicated to hate follow-for-follow accounts (granted, it could've been just one of his jokes, but he felt real passionate about this one), and for the most part, it succeeded pretty well, gaining 43 followers and 14 new members to help out, with pretty big users like SSB, ClassicSonic, Piper and FIG7. While the group . . . in all honesty didn't do anything, they just uploaded some unrelated sprite work and had no group discussions and very quickly it faded away to obscurity, the goal was met, in that it sent a message to those cheap accounts.

I got one more story with him, and it's the reason why I have a whole chapter for him.

"Broozer, MY favorite mario enemy"

Probably around late '22, early '23rd century, Sharkasourous was giving himself a small challenge in his artistic world, in that his trend would be drawing nothing but random Mario enemies. From what I remember, he drew a Goomba, Koopa, Lakitu, Pokey, Spike (10/10) and maybe Cheep Chomp, but during the trend he would later start asking his friends who were their favorite Mario enemies and would draw them as well, which was sweet . . . . . or so I thought, until HE came up to me one day.

"Yo"

Sup.

"Favorite mario enemy?"

Definitely Broozer, super underrated"

"Thank you"

You better believe I was giggling, smiling, whatever kiddie stuff, about the thought of the man, the retro artist, THE Sharkasourous, drawing MY (emphasis on that) favorite Mario enemy. And the next day went, it was evening, just doing my business as usual, when I got my notification from Sharkasourous.

The drawing was complete.

ok cool.

Broozer was complete.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOO YYYYYYYYEAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH

I clicked it, there he was, BROOZER, OH MY GOSH HE'S BEAUTIFU- what the fuck.

Despite how glorious Broozer looked, the way he's accurate, the way his colors popped and shine, the description is what grabbed my eyes.

"This is definitely MY favorite mario enemy. also hi 0̴͎͙̳̩̥̜̾͌͂͛̈̉̾̄̅͋m̶̡̨̭͕̼͓̼̪̬̏̋̄̍̌ͅk̷̠̠̳̫̱̱̻̎n̴̟̉̓̓̽͛̀̏0̷̞̯̟͛ų̶̦̖̖̥̥̬͈̰̞̾͛̐͂͑̋̈́̈́̕u̸̹͚̠͎̩̳͇͎͈̾̎̌̔̃̒̈́̿̈́ͅm̷̡̠̮̦̫̤̹͇̏̋̅̉͆"

Ain't no way.

Now, looking back, maybe it was pretty dumb for me to make a big deal out of this, I mean just down below a user was dogshitting my boi Broozer, but HE ASKED ME WHAT MY FAVORITE ENEMY WAS, AND TOOK IT FOR GRANTED, AND IT PISSES MY OFF MORE NOW LOOKING BACK BECAUSE HIS JOKE ACTUALLY GOT ME.

Of course I remember the beef between this and I quickly confronted.

Your favorite enemy? But your the one who asked who's my favorite was :((

"fuck"

Imagine using your friends for clout

"as if"

This is my source (As I point through the literal painting he made of MMMMYYYY favorite Mario enemy)

Then some random user busted through the door and ended the short beef with . . .

"Imagine having friends" *insert vineboom*

And that's Sharkasourous, our short-lived friendship wasn't that deep for the most part, with the Group and Broozer incident being his most memorable parts I remember from him, but nevertheless, I remember him well. I'll always get a good chuckle with Broozer because of him, which by the way it's MMMMMMMMYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY favorite Mario enemy.

Tony Montana Snow GIF
Crack-? :(
:(
1/ Of course.
The deepest your lore is the more you have fun imagining scenarii.

2/ Look at his nametag
Marvel Studios Smile GIF by Disney+

In any case, waiting to see where you take your story !
Bbuuttt they're not scenarios- they actually happened ;-;

But thank you!
You enjoyed it-? :D

I know you skimmed it through (based on the GIF) but you took the effort to at least try ❤️

Not sure where you're going with this, but you're clearly an unreliable narrator as facts and circumstances keeps on changing.

Your preambles are interesting but the meat of the stories dosen't hook me yet. Could be that it being mundane and without a punchline is part of making it grounded and will pay off down the line.

Maybe it'll make more sense as we get more entries.

"Ever since the incident, I've been worried about myself. Another one down the drain, another cycle on the way, but for how much longer will I stay? It's been years now since I started this weird journey, but the older I get, the more I desire to seek some conclusion to it all, but how can I? When everything I've destroyed and everything I've created oughta creep up on me for an indefinite time, and no resolution to any of them, reminding me every day that I need to come back. I'm too sicken to see who I was, but I'm too scared to see what lies ahead, knowing what waits past each door might finally strip away the only things left that feel like mine. Maybe revisiting what I can remember might clear things up, I mean, after all, this still matters to me, the friends, the family, my many, many lives, through the internet. With each fragment of memory, I can try and face each one of them, see where this truly builds up to the present. It's been a while since I've pieced together what my story was like."

From Chapter 1.

The story progressively gets more complex and upsetting (for me at least-) during the later stories, I just wanna write the simple and cute ones first before the actual storm hits

It'll all make sense once every story is written and the pieces get connected

I wouldn't be doing this if something wasn't trying to haunt me

It's all gonna lead up to something.

But I'll take your criticism, thank you! I'll take that to consideration for the next chapter

Yeah, I read it. I think the framework is solid and fertile ground for some off the cuffs storytelling.

Don't take it as critique per se, just some feedback from my pov. You clearly have a plan and I hope to catch them as they pop up.
