I'm disappointed with thegamecollection.net at the moment. My Dead Space 2 preorder, ordered on Jan-14, dispatched on Feb-01 (three working days after release date), was delivered yesterday (ten days after dispatch). No sign of customs messing that up either. Back to mama zavvi.
 
Zavvi has indeed been great lately. I ordered two games from this week's Mega Monday sale. One game turned up yesterday and the other one today.
 
HMV have Sin & Punishment 2 for £10. It's in the used section, but mine (bought 2) were still in the Nintendo plastic wrap, brand new!
 
Just wanted to let you all know that the wheel I bought from amazon.fr still remains unused...
My Street Fighter IV pad is almost suffering the same fate, even though I used it for the 2 hours I played 3d dot game heroes.

But at least I haven't bought any more games in like a month.
Starting to itch...

Guys, PLEASE HELP ME OUT.
I, like others on GAf, did an order from gamebasement.co.uk for Inazuma Eleven.
Order placed on 30Gen at £27 circa, after a Gaffer reported they were legit. After 4 days with the order under processing status, which was in stock and supposed to be shipped in 24h, I wrote 'em to cancel my order. Nothing for 4 days, so I wrote 'em again, but nothing still and it has been 10 days since my first email.
So yesterday, super pissed, I was to send yet another email when I decided to try ring 'em even if me not being in the UK meant $$$. Nothing more than an answer machine ALL DAY LONG.
Freakin' out, I looked around on the net and discovered the company is basically a FRAUD which only sometimes honors the orders.
And I don't mean the usual pro and cons with lots of good experiences that all retailers enjoy, I mean the kind of feedback you usually find for scammers. Half an hour ago I went looking under my account to see if anything changed and yes, it suuuure changed...
they FREAKIN' CHANGED MY ORDER to a £89 charge!!!
It doesn't even say what's in my order! I got copy of my order correct total, what item it was and everything, sent by them at the time of my order, and my VISA has yet to be charged.
WHAT CAN I DO? -_-
Help, please, I've been shopping online since 1996 and I've never had any problem, always been careful so I really don't know what can I do.
 
^ Call your credit card company IMMEDIATELY. They'll do the best they can. I'm pretty sure you can calm down a bit after that.

Contact your CC company to challenge any charge.
 
So I should I call up my VISA issuer and explain them what happened or just block my card altogether? If I block my card saying I lost it today, would that stick it in GB's ass?

Provided you paid for the item on a credit card you will be fine to get your money back. If it's a debit card..it will be a lot harder for you to reclaim your money but it's not impossible.

Hope it all works out for you.

Call your bank and ask them to deal with VISA. I'm pretty sure banks value their customers a bit differently, at least they do in Finland.

It's a credit card, not debit card,
As I've said they still haven't charged me so I want to act quickly.

Edit: Took a chance and ordered seasons 7-10 as well as Enslaved and Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing for the PS3.
Was a bit itchy on Prince of Persia Trilogy HD for £12.85 as well but i came to my senses.

Came to a sum of £62, used the QUIDSIX code for £6 off £60.
Total sum :£56.09

Funny thing: I haven't been charged any delivery (to Sweden).
Is that something new or just a mistake?
 
Anyone know where slim PS2's are going cheap in the UK?

My trusty launch PS2 is now beginning to kick the bucket. Chucking out some right noises.

I have a 360 zangief one and it's much better then the regular 360 dpad, not really played with ps3 pads much to compare but they are worth the price, they also have some nice rubber grip around the back half and a switch which tells the dpad to either emulate LS, RS or just the normal Dpad.

The pad is great for playing scott pilgrim and castle crashers with.
 
It'd be for 360 yeah. Think I'm gonna go for it, like you said it could prove in handy for other games that are nice to play with a d-pad.

You can get 2 for £30 at HMV in store. Not sure if you'd want or need two, but just to let you know.

EDIT: The Viper one seems to be really unpopular so it can on occasion be cheaper than even the Zaavi store. Might be worth a punt if you're inclined to purchase that one.

Hmm, is this nationwide? Might go to my local branch soon if so. Need to prepare for the upcoming fighting games lol.

I bought mine in 2 for £30, last two pads (zangief) and since then they had no more in, Reading store.

Shit, just checked my account and the same has happened to me. I already received my order though? Now says 'partially dispatched'. Also, £86.97 is the original cost of the game x 3. So something odd is going on here.
Fuck sake, I thought after the hassle of getting the game that was the end of it.

I may phone my bank tomorrow morning and report the debit card I used as stolen and have a new card sent out. That way they can't charge me anything else. Only problem is that doing this is likely to mess up my MvC3 preorder I have elsewhere unless I get my new card really quick. All this mess for one game.

Hmm thanks for that, but I'm not a UK native so I think I'm just going to order the one on Zavvi. Probably not going to play the game a lot locally as most of my friends don't really like fighting games that much.

So, I found out that they've already charged me for Euro 34 on 31/01/2011 even if the order still shows as processing today (ah! right..) and now they've changed the order to fucking £89.
Unfortunately I won't be able to really inform myself till tomorrow when the proper assistance phone line will re-open, but the "emergency" operator from Visa Cartasí (where they only let you block a stolen/lost card) I've talked to on the phone told, after I pushed her a bit to get an answer she told me that even if I report the card as stolen now, in case GB does additional charges to my 31/01/2011 order then those will still go thru... How the fuck is that possible?! Please tell me that operator is just a fucking idiot.
And how are guys going to act?

Do you still have your digital receipt for the order placed at the original price? If you end up being charged that ridiculous amount, go into your bank with the receipt, explain what happened and they can get the ball rolling for you. This isn't some dudes on ebay, right? Banks/credit card companies can fuck up registered businesses for fraud. Like, shouldn't-have-picked-up-the-soap fuck up.
 
I hope things work well for you, I've had 2 cards in my house e-stolen somehow, not sure if it was a website or keylogger, did a lot of checks for 2nd possibility but nothing turned out, must have been that some website got hacked or something, one that I ordered at with both no longer accepts direct CC so maybe this happened for more people.

One night I received text msg that transaction was made for 250 euros, called the bank in the morning and they said its too late they can't do anything(even though it still didn't go through). Second time I didn't know until I went to bank and there I saw on screen that transaction failed for more money and they did few smaller ones.
Anyway, both times I signed all the papers, canceled cards etc saying it wasn't made by me and in the end I got shit. Actually 2nd time they refunded one order that wasn't made through secured website for grand total of 1 euro 40 cents.

So yeah, not keeping money on card anymore, switched bank and just waiting to move out of this shitty country :|

Oh and card was used on some swedish websites for lottery, to pay bills and fuck if I know but I'm pretty sure bank could have done more things about it.
And to top it of, few times that I tried to order something but it was wrong so website or seller denied transaction I ended up waiting for 3 months for it to come back because that's the required time for process or something lol...

I was thinking about importing B&W, since there is a lot of discrepancy between UK/US DS prices right now.

Yeah, I have all the receipts in my inbox (especially the one saying that my order was for one item @ £28.99 and that the order has now been completed) plus a hard copy print out of the amount being taken from my bank account confirming that it's been completed.

If you do it really soon (before they update their servers) you can get Pokemon for £23.85 from The Hut if you use the weekend SAVE2 code.

Also, Golden Sun Dark Dawn is a part of their 2 for £25 promotion which is cheaper than buying one copy. :p
