Holy s***

If they ever reach 100EUR (and I bet they will heh), I wonder if I should get one or wait for the white Premium Wii Us.

Wasn't this model going to be discontinued? So I think they're just cleaning out shelves atm. Don't see the price dropping any further if these are the last couple of units.

I'm holding out for a new Premium pack as well. You run into memory limitation problems way too soon nowadays if you buy more than just a few games.

That's awesome. Is the memory only used for saves and digital download? Will I need to buy something extra if I get the basic?

Well, there is no game (Nintendoland) in there, no Wii GamePad cradle (so you'll need to charge it with the cable instead), also no GamePad stand. If you would want any of those, you'll have to buy them separately. Also no Wii motion (plus) sensor bar included, btw.

I'm not sure about how the memory is used and if you can use SD cards instead for all that. The built-in memory is probably also used for some applications like Miiverse and the likes.

I think you're supposed to be able to hook up an external hard drive to use with your Wii U.

EDIT: Apparently, Nintendo have a list of External USB Storage Devices That Have Been Tested To Work with Wii U, but I think the list of storage devices that actually work fine with the Wii U is much larger.

Yes, but my question was: what does the Wii U allow you to download to and operate from such and external device? How much stuff requires mandatory install on that built in memory?

If you don't have an external HDD it installs updates, DLCs and digital downloads on the internal memory. The system has 5 GB reserved, so you have practically 3GB remaining for updates and DLC (assuming you buy everything retail).

If you connect and external HDD it installs everything (except for the system) on this by default. But you can chose what to move between the internal and external drive.

And you can't use SD cards for that instead of an external HDD?

No. SD cards are only used in wii mode for stuf fyou have from the original Wii shop, and for trasnferring wii data over.

Trying to run a several gb file that is repeatedly reading/writing off an SD card would probably kill it rather quickly, at least, that is the logic nintendo said they were using.

Foobarry, you might be just as annoying and cynical as me, but you post some really good deals at times. I'm really debating on weather or not to go for Defiance. The game looks pretty average, but it does come with loads of extras. The reviews mention quite a bunch of issues but I can imagine most of that being patched by now.

EDIT: Alright, placed an order. I got free shipping even though the price was about £4 under £25.

Anyone knows where I can find Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 for the Xbox 360 cheap?

On Amazon.co.uk and GAME it's sold out. And Zavvi doesnt even have it in their list. It has to be shipped to Belgium (second reseller on amazon.co.uk didnt ship to it :().

I'm out of options ^^

A deal like that in GBP and me and my housemates would snap it up.

Or you could make a trip to Belgium (you can get Eurostar 2 way tickets from 88 euros), have some Belgian beers, chocolates and waffles, and grab a Wii U along the way. You might even enjoy your time here. :-)

You could go to Belgium and back again in the time it's taking this bloody WiiU to update. What a buzzkill Nintendo, I'm glad I wasn't a dad on Xmas day explaining this shit to his pissed off kid.

Anyone that ordered Skyward Sword yesterday from Tesco has it been dispatched? Said dispatched next day, well its 9pm now and no dispatch yet :(

Is there any cheap prices for Disgaea 3 on Vita? It constantly goes over 20 quid on eBay... are there like 4 copies for the whole of Europe? Surely no one has bought this game?

So I travel to Belgium every week. I am somewhat tempted to get one of this. Is there a Carrefour in Antwerpen?

There are probably quite a few of them. You'll have to look for one of the big Carrefours Hypermarkets though. The smaller ones (Carrefour Market and Carrefour Express) don't sell those kinds of consumer electronics.

There are 2-3 Carrefour Hypermarkets in the vicinity of Antwerp. To find them go here. And enter the search data as follows: Antwerp postal code is 2000, and check the Carrefour Hypermarkt button.

Click on the Carrefour logos on the map to get address and phone number. You can then call them to see if they still have them on the shelves. Don't forget to add the (32) country code for Belgium.

If you leave now, travel to Belgium and pick your copy up for 10 euros in Belgium, you'll probably get back home before Tesco dispatches it. ;-)

Good thing that I don't want Skyword Sword, then, because surprise visits from Germans aren't that popular in Belgium ;)

Is there any site that has some sort of notification system for PSN Plus deals? That's all I want right now, between Steam, console+Vita backlog and next gen coming, no discount on games can get me excited to buy something right now, so I don't check in here a lot.

PS: Now I really want some waffles, but I have no waffle iron in my dorm.

The PlayStation blog maybe? You can subscribe to their updates and get emails, or they have an RSS feed.

Want The Last of Us to hit £29.99, cmon UK market!

Nabbed that Defiance Ultimate Edition for PS3 on Amazon for £20. Back up to £50 odds now. No idea what I'm in for but I thought I'd take a punt at that price.

I think your best bet with this one is waiting for a digital sale*. I had been for a while but finally buckled and bought a second hand copy for £20 in my local indie recently.

* Apparently this is not available on the store for a number of European countries which was my reason for buying it as it's unlikely to become a PS+ title and the physical release should hold its value. Whether that effects the likelihood of being in a sale I'm not entirely sure.

Risen 2: Dark Waters Collector's Edition (PS3) for £12.98 at Zavvi.

(Warning: this version of the game supposedly has a lot of technical issues, like frame rate drops and such)

Thank you.

Most critics don't seem to like it. But I just read some posts on GameFAQs forum and some really like it. Just bought it, it's about pirates so it can't be that bad :P

You wont believe how bad it really is... Even the PC version is beyond mediocre its just plain bad. Dont waste your time on this.

I wish, the lazy buggers won't commit to going on holiday. I want to travel Europe, dammit!

Where's the cheapest place to buy Microsoft points at the moment? I really need to restock after this week's sale - I've spent around 10,000 in three days!

Thanks for this!
Free delivery to Finland + I had -10% code (came earlier to email) so the game costed 11.30£.

With the bag the price was super awesome.

... and again i'm really out of touch or have really, really bad taste as i enjoyed Risen 2 Dark Waters. I didn't have any issues with the Velvety version after i'd modded the trees and stuff which took all of 4 minutes. It's not going to change your life but i found it to be a good, competent Pirate RPG yarn. If you've played Two Worlds or Gothic or similar you know what it will be like.

Bloody hell, are there any games i like that other people do?
Fable 3 anyone? ;)
