New The Hut voucher: 3off30

Perfect. I always wanted to get Walking Dead. Ordered.

btw. I just started Risen 2 Dark Waters. Yeah, the combat is clunky. But I guess people that liked old school games and especially old school adventure games will love it. Lots of funny dialogue + characters.

Not really, people don't have to buy things and should have self control, Littlewoods don't sell anything that is NEEDED for a better life. Just luxury items, so supply and demand, if people would rather pay £858 for one, rather than save up and wait till they can afford it then that's their choice.

I don't think it's only a choice people make. Those consoles will be heavily marketed, to the point where some people not even remotely interested in buying a games console now will end up buying one at the end of the year.
Of course it's not vital to own a console but it's the kind of things that makes your life better (I dont mean good). So i can see how someone who's into video games would really want to get their hands on a new system, even if they can't afford it, especially when ads tell them to "get it now".

Littlewoods looks like a total rip off and i wish those kinds of website were illegal.
I suppose when people buy from a crook online is not as bad as when they go steal a console in a shop. I think both are equally wrong.

Risen 2 is pretty good. It's not Gothic 1/2, but it contains enough of the charm to warrant a play. I'm probably about 70% complete with it.

Anyone know the cheapest I can get a new 360 wired controller for?

Speaking of which, anyone know the cheapest I can get either a 360 wireless receiver for PC, or an Xbox 360 Wireless Controller for Windows for? The receivers seem to be really hard to come by on their own.

I don't think they sell the official wireless receivers any more honestly. No shop seemed to have one when I was looking. It was the reason I went for a wired controller.

Damn it.

Not sure whether to buy Wonderful 101 at thehut with the 3off30 code and get the game while I am away from my WiiU for around 3-4 weeks, or whether to pay 5 bucks more and get it on the day of release by another webshop; that way I would still have around a week to play it before being consoleless.

However, as a cheapassgaffer there is seemingly only one choice...

Nintendo published. I wouldn't count on it.

It's a release with an unknown IP. They are often available at cheap prices, especially when the system is lying on the shelves like a dead horse. That's why the late Wii and early 3DS games were/are so cheap.

Wii U titles don't drop that fast for whatever reason. Also, what the other guy said.

You are certainly right. As demand for Wii U is incredibly low, retailers are cautious when ordering stock of Wii U hardware and software. Thus prices don't drop to the low 20s or 10s. Nonetheless, the current sales situation still forces retailers to take action: Titles such as Sing Party are available cheaply and even Pikmin 3 can be had for less than €40 at launch.

I got Super Mario Galaxy 2 for less than 40 at launch, so that is hardly "a deal" for Pikmin 3. :-)

I don't quite see your point but I was pretty happy with getting SMG2 for €40 at launch. Especially when their main franchise titles (these days that mostly means everything related to Mario) rarely drop in price.

My point is that it's not the first time that Nintendo's biggest franchises were available for (comparatively) cheap at launch. I also think the vanilla edition of Zelda: Skyward Sword was at around 40 euros.

So I don't think this "sudden" 40 euros for Pikmin 3 is caused by retailers taking action. During the successful Wii days, you got similar price points.

Edit: I think Pikmin 3 was just a bad example to prove your point. But that did not invalidate your argument about retail being cautious. You also mentioned Sing Party, and that was a good example.

The difference here is one is a newly released console, the other has already been out for a few years by this time.

I see ;)
The LE Skyward Sword edition was also around €40 at launch too, but that game wasn't the success retailers were hoping for anyway. Nonetheless, I think Pikmin 3 and Wonderful 101 are of a similar calibre. Pikmin isn't that well known outside of the Nintendo hardcore base that just got a Wii U, I don't think it's comparable to anything with Mario in its name.

They have been marketing this iteration heavily though, so I think it's more known now as a franchise than back when Pikmin 1 or 2 were released. Also they have release the New Play Control budget releases on Wii. That might've helped establishing the brand too.

Also Pikmin is a lot more cutesy, and I think it therefor might have a broader appeal than the Wonderful 101. But not on Mario levels obviously.

Anyway, we'll see. ;-) I don't see it dropping in price tremendously (like below 30 euros) anytime soon. Nintendo needs to make a profit on their software.

What's the cheapest SMT: Soul Hackers? I see that shopto has it for 30 + 3 shipping (live outside their free delivery zone).

Any opinions with regard to whether the game will get cheaper, or if it will become very rare, very quickly? I know that devil survivor: overclocked got cheaper, but that was published by ghostlight, and this is by NISA?

Devil Survivor Overclocked might've also scared potential buyers away because of the game breaking bugs in the game. So you probably can't compare.

How did other NISA published games in Europe fare? That's problably a better indication.

Edit: I don't think any of those got extremely rare or hard to get? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nippon_Ichi_Software#Game_releases_in_Europe
None of them got really cheap either. Only Bleach: Soul Resurrección maybe, and Disgaea indeed.

Different platform, but the Disgaea games (3 - 4) dropped quite low (around 15 pounds I think).

I don't know which games they published on 3ds.

Dabs has it for £20.

Ebuyer used to have it for £15 when I bought mine earlier in the year, seems they put the price back up though.

I can't seem to find it any cheaper than £20. Which is a shame, I was hoping for something closer to £15.

Italian GAF (dunno if they ship internationally)

Wii U Premium Pack Black (with Nintendoland included even if the description doesn't mention it) + 3rd party Remote+ = 249€

shipping is either free or €5 (up to 4 games iirc) with Express Courier Bartolini

Also 3DS XL Black + Pokemon Black + Pokemon White + 3DS case = 155€

at www.tgames.it

Ordered there a bunch of times myself, it was ok. They also have an eBay storefront if you fancy that, dunno if same offered apply there tho.

Is €399 the best PS4 deal for EU folk? I will get Driveclub via PS+.

I'm thinking about getting the £349 UK one but the power cord doesn't work here in Sweden.

Just change the power cord? I usually have loads of those 'figure of 8' leads hanging around

btw. I'm on the 2nd island now of Risen 2. It's awesome. So much stuff to do. Treasure maps. Pickpocketing people. I can't believe it's around 50 on metacritic.
It's one of my favorite games from 2012. The atmosphere is amazing. Just don't play it for the combat. But hey, it's an exploration oriented RPG so you shouldn't be doing that anyhow.
Have fun!

Only 13 critic reviews apparently and it was largely ignored by the bigger media outlets. With more reviews and a more balanced set of reviewers, you'd probably get a score closer to 60 or something (like the 360 version).

Part of the dialogue reminds me of Monkey Island lol
I just managed to beat the main objective on Sword Coast. OMG. I didn't expect that turn of events. It's like a hidden gem. Yeah, there are technical issues here and there, but none of it really matters (and it's not buggy in a sense that it would crash or slow down like Skyrim). I cant believe Enslaved with the crappy combat + crappy story + crappy characters is around 80. I mean Enslaved on PS3 got even more technical issues than this game thanks to Unreal Engine 3.

EDIT: Hahaha, I'm just fooling around with
voodoo dolls and the commandant. Spoke to Patty as the commandant and told her that I knew what she was up to and that she was trying to steal the ship.
(2nd isle spoiler). Simply awesome.

Currently I would personally give it around at least 80. If not more. It gets better and better. 50 is definitely a joke. Maybe people that gave it such low scores expected a perfect combat system and didn't care about story, characters, atmosphere, music and everything else that is great about this game. Or maybe they stopped playing after 1 hour and rated it based on that.

Thanks for posting the deal back then. I would have never bought it otherwise. There is even a collector's collector's edition out there with a statue and other stuff. Oh and I got the first story DLC for free. The code is on the back of the manual.

Thanks for the DLC tip. I'll redeem it (and install Risen 2 as well) as soon as I'm finally through this pain in the cheap arse that is replacing your PS3's HDD. Currently formatting the new drive...

(3 friggin' hours to backup and another 3 to restore...)

I just thought: fuck it - and bought the collector's collector's edition of the game. The CE is also included in that one, which means I will just sell that new CE, which will lower the price. I want that statue. It also includes the 1st story DLC (the 2nd one is included in the CE - called the Air Temple - the first one was originally included as preorder bonus) and I would have bought that anyway, so again lowers the total price. Will post a photo when it arrives here.

EDIT:
btw. @ German-GAF: Wii U Basic for 179EUR + 6EUR postage - 6.66EUR coupon Vorteil90 = 178EUR @ conrad.de (only the supplied URL works, don't ask me why - I hope that ordering will work for that price, because regular search shows 249EUR)

EDIT: Checking HotUKDeals, I found the Steam key being sold for 19.99 over at SimplyCDKeys. Anyone know if they're a trustworthy site?

if they're related to simplygames then I guess so (bought something from simplygames before and was satisfied!)
