This Ni no Kuni special edition made me forswear everything I stand for: I preordered it local and full price.
I can't wait to not open it, play the game 2 years later and realize I don't care at all about special editions. SO EXCITED!

Yes it is. And this will be your face, when you notice that it was:

Ni no Kuni: Wizard Edition for £54.95 get it whilst its still up for preorders.
Note: There's no longer any Amazon preorder familiars

Seems to be sold out already. Have mine ordered anyway, but that price would have been nice...

WHAT! Amazon.co.uk sold out of new batch they were going to put up?

Well fuck my life. I held off pre-ordering from GAME and getting the free book with the standard edition for the Wizards Edition. And now I miss out on exclusive familiars and this?!

:(

Was about to buy this from The Hut for £15 when I found:

Ace Combat Assault Horizon - Limited Edition (360) - £8.96 sold by Amazon.

I've heard some mixed reports about this game but at that price...

The 3DS one is better though, they share only the title.
The 3DS is a remake of Ace Combat2, and I think you can find it for under £10

I have been offered a £6 refund from Zavvi regarding to the Tales of Grace F game. I will take the offer and hope the game turns up soon...

So in conclusion: some people have gotten full refund and the game. Some have gotten a £5 refund. I have been offered a £6 refund. The majority of people who have complained have only gotten no compensation and only been offered to return the game for full refund.
Most people won't be bothered at all and get nothing at all.

Has anyone here used Music Magpie before? Just wondering if they're okay, as I'm looking to get rid of a load of old 360 games and they're offering much better prices for them than Amazon's trade-in service.

I've used them a few times to get rid of large quantities of CDs and DVDs, they're a convenient service but slow. It's taken roughly 3 weeks, maybe a bit longer, to get paid from them each time.

Yeah, used them a couple of years back. Prices range from really low to pretty decent, so if you have a selection of stuff you should get a decent return. I sold 150 CD's and a few DVD's and ended up with close to £200 which I was pleased with. They pick up from your house too which is really handy.

Thanks! Put all my stuff in and ended up with £103.84 for 31 360 games, which is pretty decent considering there's a whole lot of crap in there (including a copy of Alone in the Dark that they're giving me 23p for).

Incidentally, whilst looking through the boxes checking them, I found a few Xbox Live 48 hour Gold codes. They're ancient (from games like Crackdown and Full Auto), so I'm not sure they'll still work, but they're below if you need one and want to try (quote to reveal).

That's unexpected: the regular edition of Ni No Kuni is either sold out or simply not available anymore at Amazon UK.

It may end up being rare for the first few weeks/months. Bamco EU often undership. Last year Tales of the Abyss was out of stock for a good 1 or 2 months after release because the first shipment wasn't big enough to cover demand. However, they do usually put out another shipment if the first sold well.

After reading he Ni No Kuni WE thread, and bits of this one, I have decided there has been enough fuck ups by various companies with the WE to result in some stock going unsold.

...I have decided it will get cheaper and some point, and I will wait for that to happen.

This may be a mistake

To be fair the EU version of the WE was sold by proper retailers, vs Namco selling it on their own terms for NA - and technically the NA issue was a case of apparent overstock, mixed with utter incompetence on the third parties part to do some bean counting before confirming shipments.

WE for EU is pretty much gone, so imagine the best you can hope for is that it depreciates in value rather than rises - though I dunno if that ever really happens for a CE that was actually in demand - usually the only ones that go cheap are the ones that overstocked units and never sold on release. (The amazon exclusive Sonic Generations CE from last year goes for £125+ despite the game itself generally being dirt cheap)

I suppose theres a chance Namco MIGHT restock the WE one last time after release, but I really doubt it'll go for any cheaper when it already sold like hotcakes at £60, let alone £55 - I'ld go for the Game deal instead, at least for £35 you get the game and book, which would technically be the meat of the CE (bar for it being untranslated)

Most of the NA issues can be accounted for by Digital River being absolutely incompetent at everything. I can't even order from their online stores (Ubi/EA) never mind physical products thanks to their rubbish system.

Still kind of disappointed we didn't get the extras in the CE though..
