I'm not expecting it to turn up, Littlewoods rarely honour price errors/glitches. Still, they haven't cancelled the order and they've taken the money, so maybe there's a sliver of hope after all.

If they've taken your money then that constitutes a contract of sale and now they have to fulfil their commitment. I'm not saying they won't try to weasel out of it, but AFAIK they can't legally back out of it.

Hmm, I've had orders cancelled in the past even after money was taken. I'm pretty sure that Littlewoods have it covered in their T&C, but I'd have to check them again to confirm.

I suspect you're right, but there's no way they'll be honouring this. They'll probably offer some sort of compensation for cancelling the order.

Oh yeah, they rely on chicanery no doubt, and it's probably not worth the effort but I'm just saying if you wanted to sue, you most likely would win.

Edit: Also, I believe it's a statutory right, so no amount of their T&Cs would remove it.

Is this UK-law or EU-law? Does it apply when ordering from abroad too?

This is a commonly-held belief that's actually false. The sale is legally completed at the point of dispatch.

The place where it is legally questionable is if it could reasonably regarded as a deliberately misleading price rather than a misprice; that's a breach of Trading Standards. I don't think that's arguable in this situation!

It gets a bit more complicated when goods are sold online as it depends on whether a contract has been made between the two parties.

The retailer needs to accept the customer’s order for there to be a contract. If it hasn’t accepted the order it can withdraw the product from sale and cancel the order. Exactly where you stand will depend on the website’s terms and conditions and the wording of any e-mail sent to you when you placed the order.

Many websites say in their terms that an order is only accepted when the goods are dispatched. Any e-mail sent to the customer beforehand is simply an acknowledgement of receipt – as opposed to acceptance - of the order.

And from the Littlewoods T&Cs:

2.1 All orders placed through our website will be subject to our acceptance of the order.

2.2 When you submit an order to us on our website you will receive a 'bounce back' confirmatory email of this order saying that we are processing your order. You will then receive a second email from us acknowledging your order and giving you estimated timescales for delivery. You should check both emails for accuracy and let us know immediately if there are any errors. Neither of these emails constitute acceptance of the order by us. Your order will be accepted by us (and a contract will then be formed between us) when we despatch the goods to you. Title to the goods will pass to you on delivery.

You could argue that they deliberately priced the Vita that low to drive traffic to their website. The offer still appeared in Google ads for example even after it was taken down from the website. I for one had never heard of that site before. But I'm no lawyer, so don't know if that argument would hold up. :-)

Why doesn't Very just come out and cancel it already. The wait for dispatch is excruciating. My one has been 'Order being processed at supplier' since 16:43 yesterday. The last 3 games that came from them were all dispatched before 10am.

tl;dr: Please please please please please back up whatever you're saying before going into rage mode.

*Sigh*, and here comes another foobarry shitstorm. Am I the only one who even follow this thread? Go all the way back to even page 72, that's the first time it was for £14.99 (that was posted in this thread anyway), and then you can continue if you so desire.

Can't believe your posting screencaps and crap just to always prove everyone wrong, geez.

Ok, I admit. You were completely right. (*)

(*) if you take into account that the HMV offer was available on an off AND only in store (as pointed out by GRW810 in his post on page 72 of this thread). Fortunately there are 141 HMV stores in the UK, and potentially 1 in Dublin. So a whopping 142 worldwide which means easy access for anyone in this thread.

Now, let's see. Other mentions of Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask in this thread since page 72:

Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask (3DS) £14.99
All in-store at still-open HMV stores

For Layton I'd probably try ebay.

Also they have a 3DS XL + Layton miracle mask bundle for £146

Been at that price for at least a quarter of a year now.

Then maybe this thread just missed all those great opportunities on the game? Let's try a HUKD search:

Nope, only the £14.99 HMV deal in store.
Oh, but wait! There was a £9.98 deal at Zavvi just 2 days ago!

http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/professor-layton-miracle-mask-3ds-game-brand-new-9-98-zavvi-1609921

And again: nope... (oops, sorry, another screenshot)

Mostly interesting for UK GAF (and because someone on here asked for it recently): GAME have Skyrim: Legendary edition (PC) for £14. Which is a quid cheaper than Amazon.

(Amazon might price match if you let them know.)

Is there anything like Appshopper/Gamestracker for PSN/XBLA? Just want to be able to add games to there and be notified of drops :(

Thanks

Anyone had their Pikmin 3 order dispatch yet? ShopTo seem to be a good price, but at GAME in the UK you get the Flying Pikmin keyring.
My flubit order was dispatched yesterday. Dunno from which retailer. Probably Zavvi/Thehut knowing my luck.

Edit: Wow, piggies must be floating in the skies today as it was Zavvi and it's here already!

Mine was shipped from GAME yesterday but the flash flood has caused delays =/ hopefully my package wasn't water damaged...
And I'll receive it tomorrow or so.

Not really a deal, but people interested in Tales of Xillia Milla Maxwell Edition (PS3) might be interested to know that it is now also available at Shoppe Two for £79.85.

Before it was only available through Namco's own store, at £79.99.

I got a call from them and they referenced hukd along with the pricing error. Gave me a 15% discount code though.. whoopee.

If they would finally show the actual artbook that is included (and the size of it), maybe I would be willing to upgrade. It seems they didn't get enough orders. They also put some on amazon.de for 100EUR.

I mean they already charge people that ordered via namco shop. Why not release a simple unboxing video that shows the goodies.

There's some pics available since yesterday last week from the statue.

But yeah.. :-)

And from the Littlewoods T&Cs:

Aha! Well that's good to know, thanks.

But yeah.. :-)

Exactly.

If the artbook is shitty, there is no real reason for me to buy it. And I already own the Japanese artbook, which is 80 pages. Worst case: the CE artbook is the same but a few pages more than that and may even be BluRay case size (which would be smaller than the Japanese artbook). And even if it's the best situation possible (almost completely new artwork + regular size), I still have a hard time coughing up more than twice the price just for that.

They should have included the full soundtrack instead. Would have been instant buy from me.
Or maybe include these here:
instead of a figurine that I feel embarassed to buy.

I really don't understand why they can't just show the artbook. Or at least tell us the size of it.

The fact that they haven't showed it yet, probably means that the book's nothing to write home about. The best artbooks are the ones you buy separately anyway (at least most of the time).

Also in the promo pictures the artbook does look to have the size of a BluRay case: http://gameoasis.de/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/bmUploads_2013-07-16_3966_ToX_Collector-Edition.jpg

Is your Japanese copy a hardcover artbook?

I was so mad when I got my tales of graces f day 1 edition last year, put the soundtrack in and it wouldn't even play in my stereo. I had to rip the disc on my PC to find out that all the songs were basically just snippets and probably not even high quality. The OST was my main reason for buying this on release in the first place ...

bad Namco Bandai, bad ...

you keep disappointing me. especially your European division (nothing but trouble with these guys, seriously)

The statue is also available since months in Japan, I've even got one myself I won at a lottery.

But it's like $75 or so if you want to buy it that way, I think.

What? Really?

Edit: according to my PC the bit rate of the .wav files (!) on my disc is over 1400 kbps. So seems to be more than decent enough quality. And not all the songs seem to be snippets. But some of them have been cut off in a really sloppy way.

Oh right, that was pretty bad as well. I mean they actually burned WAVE files onto the disc. WAVE files. How hard would it have been to actually create an actual Audio CD smh

At least Graces day-1 was priced the same as other games (similar to Dark Souls Day 1 edition), which means noone actually paid extra for those things. I bought the Graces soundtrack from Japan. I think it's 3 discs or something like that. And at least that those are actual Audio CDs lol

I just put in the Behind the Scenes DVD. There is a language selection menu at the start and they actually put the Belgian flag there instead of the German. :-) Wow...

Received a call from Littlewoods a little earlier, order has been cancelled, was offered a discount on a future purchase and was told the money charged would be back in my account as soon as the call ended. Haven't checked my account, but I assume it's all done.

Not too disappointed, mainly wanted one to give away as a cheap Christmas present. Ah well.

Edit.

Hi,

On the 23rd July 2013, the PS Vita + Epic Monkey bundle was incorrectly priced on our website. This error was identified and corrected on the same day.

Whilst it is always our intention to keep our website up to date and error free, pricing errors can occasionally occur.

In this instance, we are unable to process orders placed at the incorrect price. However, in recognition of our error, we will be contacting all customers involved within the next few days and offering them a discount off the correct selling price or off their next order.

Apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Littlewoods Representative

Maybe, I was just answering to your "they post a bunch of photos in their facebook page" like it was something "never seen before" when the figure has been available for a long time in Japan already. (not to mention they chose the Ichiban Kuji when Alter released a slightly better one weeks after)

Oh ok, then I misunderstood. I thought you meant: they put some old, non exclusive, stuff in there.
