Cheap Arse Gaffer |Europe| With Or Without EU

Does anyone know where I can a good deal on a PS4 Slim bundle that ships to most European countries? Should I wait for any Black Friday deals or the holidays?

It would be silly not to wait for black friday at this point. The XB1 s and PS4 Slim will be all over black friday.

Agreed. Even the OG PS4s had good deals last year. I bought a PS4 1TB with Uncharted collection for my nephews in October last year for £330 or 40, I think...and then saw it on sale for £270 IIRC on Black Friday.

SwedeGAF (and possibly other Nordic countries?): CDON are selling digital versions of Forza Horizon 3 and Gears of War 4 for Xbox One (should be cross-buy with PC) for 349 SEK each until midnight.

EDIT: If you're a student, you're also eligible for a free one year CDON+ membership which will give you some cashback on your Forza/Gears purchase.

black friday is a thing inEU?
they had deals but all of them sucked. cyber monday was good though. so keep an eye on that since every amazon branch in europe has different offers.
they had crazy offers before the slim was released, i wonder if there will be another wave of sales like those.

How do you prove your student status? Mecenat or Studentkortet?

25% Quidco cash back on cdkeys for today only. May not pay out if you use the 5% Facebook code though. This may be useful for those who have had luck with quidco in the past but obviously not as great as just a 25% off discount.

Was just about to post this in here as also posted on a thread of it's own, yeah I wouldn't risk the 5% code on this one either.

Amazing Deal! Just bought Halo 5 and £40 PSN credit for £38.24.

Edit: cashback tacked!

Can you buy those from outside Sweden? I'd be interested in going digital for FH3

Does it work If I buy several psn card? like $50 x2 and $10 x2 ?

Do you get more for trading in a sealed game? Got Dishonored 2 for £10 with the Pro, have no intention of playing it. Will sell it on ebay if not.

You need a Swedish personal number/ID number to use that shop. And potentially they also block international credit cards, had that happen before with other Swedish online shops.

Do you have to pay in Sterling or can you pay using Euro and it still track?

haha what

A few Christmas' back I went to trade in a few game I got as presents. Two I had already bought and played myself and one i did not want. I could not be bothered with eBay at the time so was happy with trading for store credit. All were sealed.

I was refused service and given the reason that management would not allowed a large quality (I had three!!!) to be traded at the store due "multiple previous instances". Furthermore they would not allow the games to be opened in store and then be traded.

I was confused at the time but Googled afterwards and the reasoning behind the refusal seems to stem of thieves trying to turn over shoplifted items. It honestly makes no sense, but that it my story.

So weird, I've never experienced anything like that.

But I guess that's because my sealed games are generally things I bought like four years ago and never played, rather than the latest releases.

Generally not... I took the new sealed Doom I got with my PS4 (it was included in the deal at Smyths) to GAME and they offered me like £18. I then got a photo on my phone of CEX's poster which was offering £36 for the game at trade, so GAME then offered me £37, so worked out OK.

Not sure whether they're price matching other trade in deals, this was back in May.

To carry on from above, the girl asked the manager if she needed to open it to check the disk and he looked at the seal and said "no" - they also asked what the offer was from Smyths as they could see I had a bag from there with a PS4 in.

They price match + £1 at the managers discretion sometimes if they can be bothered.

You'll get significantly more for sealed games on ebay. Research prices and sell it as "Buy Now" to get the most out of it. If you price a popular new sealed game £1-2 under the avarage it'll sell within a day

I can buy sealed PS4 Dishonored 2 on eBay (buy it now) for £38. After eBay fees, PayPal fees and postage, that person's going to be getting about £30.

CeX will trade in for £36 or give £32 cash.

Yeah for recently released games in the UK at least, Gumtree and cex/game price match are the way to go.

On the flip side I've walked into CEX numerous times on a launch day and seen 10+ copies of a game get traded in by someone.

I got killzone shadowfall ps4 for £2.99 used on GAME with free delivery - i think it's still available, gotta be worth 3 quid right?

Hmm I didn't realize the situation in UK was like that.

How does CEX even make money lol

That's bad, hope other websites have similar deals (do it amazon.com). Thanks

Well their used games sell for more than new ones do (Dishonored 2 is £45) so I guess they rely on people who want to trade stuff in for it to "pay" a premium. Then somewhere down the chain people pay cash for older stuff, or trade+cash, or whatever.

Maybe. I mean, it must be profitable somehow because they're a pretty major player.

shop2 has The Last Guardian with an exclusive slipcover pre-order bonus for £39.85 and also a listing at the same price with either a red, white or blue PS4 faceplate, guess they're trying to rid overstocking of the faceplates ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

how do they even ship faceplates is it just in a jiffybag like amiibos were? going with it so my postman can't force the game into my postbox and damage it

Yep, Black Friday has been a thing here for a few years now. The first year I think it was decent...but mainly just terrible these days.

I'm guessing there's been no announcements on Black Friday stuff yet? Got my eye on that fancy new orange and black 3DS XL...!
Not that I've seen. I like the orange colour, but would prefer an all orange system as opposed to orange and black. Same with the green/black one for North America. Ugh.

I wonder what the odds of PS VR being included in any of the Black Friday deals... probably slim to none, but at the moment I'm struggling to find a reason not to try and track one down full price.

Game ES has the pro + dishonored 2 for 430, good for those that want this game.

Also: trade in, 150 euros + ps4 1 tb (og or slim) + 2 games = ps4 pro
Seems like a good upgrade for those with og ps4. I wont get because i won't have a 4k tv or psvr anytime soon. And its 170 euros if you give a 500gb ps4 in.

Yeah, I agree, but I've been without a 3DS for a few months now so I'm ready to replace with a new one, and the orange one is the nicest I've seen. Would love the lime green one as it's the same colour as my old GBC, but alas, it doesn't seem to be coming out over here.

For those in Portugal, El Corte Ingles is giving you back 50% of your purchase in store credit for any Videogame, Console or Toy purchase and yes, PS4 Pro and PSVR are included.

The store credit has some usage limits. You can only use it from the 14th to the 25th of November and you can't use the credit towards more videogames or consoles.

The stock of PS4 Pro and PSVR in Lisbon is almost gone btw.
Edit: They were restocking as I was leaving.

Cex are also a fence for stolen goods, which I imagine helps.

I would think that any second-hand store has a percentage of stolen goods, there's not much you can do about it. I doubt it's any worse at CeX than anywhere else, percentage-wise, they're just a bigger company and have more stores.

Your implication that they have contacts with thieves and sell stolen goods on purpose is a bit risky unless you've got some evidence to suggest there's truth there.

What?

I'm pretty sure they look up serial #s and they require proof of purchase of really expensive items

I think they're referring to the times where you see CEX have multiple copies of a big game on the day it launches. I've seen it myself but I highly doubt they're all stolen. Probably a mixture of people buying them cheap with vouchers or discounts and then taking them to CEX to profit.

Some copies may be stolen but with games and films that's an inevitability for trade in stores. With hardware you do need serial numbers (well you're meant to provide it). Plus sometimes they offer you more cash for hardware than it's actually worth in stores just so they can get stock in. On PS4 launch day people were buying consoles and then taking to CEX to get profit.
