When in April will thou grace us with your presence?
About the 14th or 15th I think, not 100% sure.
Drove home with my windows down today. Felt good man.
any of you guys go to Ignition or Galloping Ghost fighting game weeklies? Just curious if they primarily use PS3 or 360 consoles for their matches...i got a PS3 TE stick, but I may need to dual mod it.
My goal for the first part of the year is to get involved in the chicago FGC! Probably on SFxT (Ling, haven't decided on a second char) and UMVC3 (currently running X23, Ryu, Sent...but I am not happy with Sent right now and am thinking of cheesing it up with Rocket Raccoon.)
In Chicago for 3 days. Wat do?
No museams.
Chi-GAF,
I'll be visiting Chicago for three days in early April, and I'm really looking forward to it after having a terrific time my last visit. So far, I have the following ideas (some are re-visits):
Definites:
Alinea
Schwa
Avec
Frontera Grill/Topolobampo
The Violet Hour
Art Institute of Chicago
Maybes:
Girl & the Goat
Longman & Eagle
Hot Doug's
Aviary
Not Interested:
Charlie Trotter's, L2O, TRU, Everest, etc.
Any suggestions for deep-dish pizza? I'm willing to travel for it. Recs for cheap eats are very welcome too, including good breakfast places.
Also, my itinerary is hilariously food-focused. Any non-food things that are must-dos?
Why not museums?
Clearly, lol.I am not interested in that sort of stuff
Clearly, lol.
Agreed.
It's the only super-large city that I don't feel overwhelmed by.
Because it isn't. Chicago proper is about 1/4th NYC. Still lovely city and planning to visit this Summer.

Yeah, I know the deal with Alinea and Schwa. I'd drop either for Next elBulli edition, but I certainly don't expect that kind of luck. As for Trotter, his style never particularly stood out to me.Do you have reservations at Alinea and Schwa yet? If not, good luck for a trip in a few weeks (especially with Schwa.) Also, if you've done Alinea, then forgo that and try and score tickets to Next since they sell them on their facebook page by lottery (again, good luck.) And even though you put a "not interested" for Charlie Trotter's, it's worth mentioning that it's closing in August.
I suggest Goosefoot and Ruxbin.
It's the second largest actual city in the country. LA's too disparate to be considered a singular city, no disrespect at all. It's the third largest city in the nation.
you got a link to this?Speaking of the last two, I didn't know Chicago was the site of the 3rd largest car bombing in the US.

25th largest by population, not sure about city limits (not that city limits mean anything....phoenix is huge, but manages to not feel like a city at all.)
25th in the world. That's still pretty big, was that your point? According to that list, larger population than London.
i was just posting a link, chill
Was just asking a question, chillaxer? I wasn't sure if you were implying it was large or small. No need to get defensive.
