I knew Richard Genelle--Ernie, from Power Rangers. Very nice guy, he gave me any my friends a bunch of fireworks to detonate in the neighborhood. There was a security patrol driving around and we totally fucked with him.

Unfortunately, Richard died a few weeks ago from a heart attack. :(

Noooo, Ernie! :(

I remember when Lord Zedd first showed up, they had the show on prime time for his appearance, like three nights in a row or something. That was some epic shit.

Even as a kid I thought it was wierd that the lighting completely changed during the fight scenes...

Power Rangers were my fucking life as a kid,but I ended up on like half of turbo(because we traveled to another country with no PR,not because I "matured" or anything).

And props to whoever said Beetleborgs, loved it as a kid.

Omg I remember that shit. I think they showed it back-to-back with the X-men Lady Deathstrike episode too. FOX Kids in primetime, awesome.

Same, but because I thought the car angle was boring. Giant robots dinosaurs and ninjas and Zeo, all sweet. Cars? Zzzzz

Holy shit Zordon died, how the hell did I miss that?,and him being dead turned all the bad guys into regular humans,I love zordon and all,but shouldnt they have killed him from the start.

Plus I remember this black chick replacing zordon in turbo, why and when?

And what happened to the robot who always said "ai-ya-yai"?

I remember them getting another one, with a deeper voice, or some crazy shit.

Yup another reason Turbo was the jumping off point for a lot of people.
Near the beginning, Zordon and Alpha 5 left to help their friends somewhere.
They were replaced by the evil chick's sister and Alpha 6, who was a wise cracking robot...

Didn't the white ranger's Zord (this metal bird thing) have a scene where it saved a train on a collapsed bridge by filling the gap with its back? I remember that being cool.

I had fierce arguments with friends about whether the gap was filled by length of the zord (rides over head to tail) or width (wing span). I still can't remember what it was.

Movie was awesome. Too bad the series totally jumped the shark with the second one. I was still in like 4th grade but was totally disappointed anyway when that came out. I mean, an adult in a power suit jumping around with a little kid's voice coming out? That shit is lame.

God, I miss being a kid.

Whenever I watch that Forever Red episode (yes, I've seen parts of it on many an occasion), I'm intrigued by the ranger who, in the pre-morph battle, uses his gun so much (while spinning off walls and whatnot). I'm always tempted to track down the series he's from and watch some of it, to see if that's how all of those rangers fight. It's a pretty interesting change, IMHO.

Crap... I just read up on the current series, Jungle Fury (yes, they're doing animals again; they're really been repeating themselves a lot lately...). And it looks pretty enticing. I mean, the red ranger wields junglechucks, for crying out loud.

There's a new one coming out forgot what it's called but it deals with cars again I think and it's guess what? a sentai remake. Of the old red falcon ranger seen here.

If you liked that forever red ep check out this clip of the japanese version.

What girl? I don't remember a girl in a bikini.
I'm not sure if it was a bikini (I really don't remember,) but it was something skimpy. The gal turns into an owl or something like that. Give them their ninja powers or wtv.

Yeah, these memories are great and all but I think we all know that the VR Troopers would've handed the rangers a beatdown any day of the week.

We are VR TROOPERS!!!
3 GO!
Virtual Reality!

:lol The chick was the hotness though back in the 90's. Mmmm.

And like someone said earlier, it was always hilarious how they truly made Zack the token black guy. He was always dancing everywhere even in the middle of battle!

MMPR was my life when I was a kid. But I gave up on the show sometime after the "Zeo" saga. I was so in love with the original cast and setting that I couldn't stand seeing my favorite characters leave all the time. I also hated the kid that became the Blue Ranger.

I LOVE the original theme song soooooo much

GO GO POWER RANGERS!!!!!!!

Nothing can top it,NOTHING!!!

This movie is still enjoyable (Not the effects, though). The music is great. Ooze is great. Would love to see this on Blu-ray, and a reboot on the big screen some day.

Great show, great movie (as a kid). Let's let Michael Bay remake the movie now :D, Megan Fox as the pink ranger?

I love how Tommy is trying to get in the UFC now, he should go WWE and wear the suit again. :lol

Someone mentioned this film on GAF a while back, so I decided to dig up the DVD from the garage and watch it.

It's not nearly as epic and awesome as I remember.

This makes me sad :'(.
Its not like he turned to this after failing as an actor. He was into karate instruction before he went into power rangers. From what I could tell, a few of the the Mighy Morphin rangers (Jason, Tommy, Rocky) weren't really trained or aspiring actors (it shows).

They just answered a casting call, did some kicks, and got the part. After they left the show, they just went back to doing what they were doing before.

I miss the old Power Rangers looking forward to the re-showing

We all know Tommy had to get some of the pink ranger irl more than once LOL

and Zack was the best ranger ever *Runs*

The movie was so ahead of it's time in my eyes. It was really good. We all want our TV shows to make it on the big screen, but the creators of the movie really were inspired in the way they managed to transform the cheap looking show and it's sets into something visually stunning (at that time).

The opening scene was ace.
The rangers in the Ninja outfits fighting those creatures in the Jungle was a great scene
And of course, the final battle at night where all the Zords in full glory was wow
