I enjoyed it, mostly for the nostalgia and cameos.

My kids really did not like it. They never saw any of the old cartoons and didn't know who most of the cameos were. The only time they laughed was when ugly sonic showed up. They really like sonic and watch weird sonic shit on YouTube so they loved that.

That's disappointing.

How are they aware of ugly sonic, but not the other 1000 references in the movie?

Just the Seth Rogan voices cameo should have been funny to them.

LOL at anyone wasting their time on this shit. But hey whatever gets you through the day knowing you will die and cease to exist at some point, I can sympathize.
I'm sure you haven't wasted 90 mins on anything less enjoyable in your life.

It was quality time with my family, which we all enjoyed to varying degrees.

I wasn't exactly sold when the trailer came out because i didn't like the idea of them being tv actors this whole time but the movie was surprisingly good. Way better than whatever the live-action Tom & Jerry that was. My only disappointment is that gadget didn't have a bigger role. Wish we could've seen the 3 of them more together and i feel the new character they introduced (Ellie) took away from that.

Watching it now. They are hitting EVERYTHING. It really isn't for kids, but a family friendly nostalgia hitpiece. I have no idea how they were able to skewer so many different IPs. Thy had Chun Li on a hollywood star of fame! So many little bits that are just childhood smart missiles P

I feel like I'm the only person in the world that didn't like this at all. I can't really put my finger on why. I enjoyed other pop culture celebrations like this, like Ready Player One for example. This just felt like a bunch of writers hovering in my age range throwing out 'member berry jokes.

Liked it a lot. Comedy and story were both on point. My only gripe is the toon shader on 3d models which could look a little choppy. Especially on the villain for some reason.

True, but the sheer fact that they could make a joke about the Paw Patrol biting off a guys balls is just.... Wow.

We gotta encourage more of this, especially on Disney. This feels about as edgey as they have ever been.

“Honey, there’s someone doing a pose on the doorframe!” really got me for some reason, lol.

Enjoyable movie, but I don’t see how anyone could really appreciate it but a 80s-early 90s child. Literally everything is built upon the nostalgia, the references and the cameos from the very start. It’s a nerd’s film to the core.

I laughed quite a few times, and the pacing is very good. I may watch it again.

watched it the other day, and it really is an enjoyable film. I wasn't even a big fan of C&D but this movie is just a simple fun watch. it knows what it wants and should do and stick to them. it's by no means some great epic film, but its humor and heart really won me over. a surprise hit for sure. I do wonder if they choose the villain knowing what happened to the original child star or not thou. because if that's on purpose, that's some pretty dark stuff.

This is simultaneously hilarious and sad at the time.

The 4channers reaction to this have been gold.

They are seriously melting down. I saw a few of them saying a toon fly being with a toon mouse was a literal jew conspiracy

It made me retroactively happy they did this and I was and am a big fan of the original

Watched it last night with the other half, it was okay, I found myself pretty bored at times.

I don't know what it is, maybe the art style or the mish mash off different styles I just didn't like for some reason.

Yeah after marinating on it a bit, I'm really happy with what they did. I'll look forward to watching it again in a year or 2, this was very lovingly crafted and had a solid amount of legit good jokes packed in there.

I'm not going to lie, this was an amazingly great family movie and I hate Disney in almost every single way. But it feels like Lonely Island made a kid's movie. The gags are hilarious and it relies a lot on nostalgia, but in a way better way than Ready Player One. This is like a new era of Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Seth Rogan's character was way too funny and he's a guy I never laugh at. I mean if a movie can make Seth Rogan funny, it's solid gold.

It was better than expected but overall it felt like a long Family Guy reference joke that was actually working, if that makes sense?

The story was weak. It was for kids ultimately and that's why I even watched it for my kid. But the gags we're really great. I laughed out loud way more than expected.

Look at how much "inside baseball" detail is in the movie--no way they didn't know the history.
