LATIN, MATRIPEDICABUS, DO YOU SPEAK IT
"The Denver chain made its first big push with freebies on Feb. 8 when it closed its stores nationwide so employees could participate in a food safety meeting after an E. Coli outbreak and other incidents sent sales plunging."

Don't see it.

You said "Wasn't this already going on?" and the line said "The Denver chain made its first big push with freebies on Feb. 8" so yes it has been going on for a while. The article is dated March 16 and was stating how many total freebies they were expecting to give out by the expiration date of May 15, not that this is a new thing.

Poor Chipotle. Maybe if they didn't fan the flames of a customer base that's paranoid about GMOs, when they get something like an e.coli outbreak their customers wouldn't be as reactive.

Anyways I've been done with Chipotle since before the outbreak, but I have noticed how empty the restaurants have been. The one at my mall used to have a large ass line with a lot of people working, now a handful of people are working and the lines aren't all that big at all.

Remember, the business plan is to raise prices next year to make up for the free burritos they are giving away.

I'm sure that is going to help business.

Wonder what their process is for figuring out who gets a coupon is. Haven't gotten one yet and I live in an apartment building, not sure I will unless everyone in the building will get one, that's like 500 coupons right there.

As long as they maintain an anti GMO stance and force their workers to get a doctor's note for any missed time (forcing people who can't afford to see a doctor to work sick with food), no thanks. They can keep their free burrito.

I got a free burrito from them a week or two ago. Still as mediocre as ever, but no food poisoning, so I guess it was mission accomplished for them.

I used that free item coupon a couple of days ago and the Chipotle I went to was just dead. It seems like just a few months ago, the line would push out the door during lunch time. This time I was one of maybe 3 people in line with most tables empty.

Didn't think the E. coli scares would've changed opinion so quickly. I don't recall if the Jack In the Box mad cow disease scare did such a number on that franchise many years back. Then again, I do recall the franchise not doing so hot until they start using Jack in their ads again.

There stock is still 471.09 so I cannot imagine they are doing that poorly. Regardless free burrito or not I won't eat there again and risk my family's health.

I am so sorry that there are places in the US where Chipotle is leagues better than other options in terms of Mexican food. Ugh, I love Tex-Mex.

Yeah I'm on Long Island and the Mexican places here for the most part destroy Chipotle. I had heard about how great Chipotle was for a few years and when I finally tried one I was really surprised because it was pretty mediocre. I get if you're in Iowa or something it's probably the best Mexican around but I'm glad to have much better, local options.

They reopened the Chipotle in Davis Square in Somerville, MA. Went there for lunch last weekend, crowd seemed kind of subdued but nothing out of the ordinary. Of course, with an Anna's Taqueria right around the corner it is pretty easy to pretend Chipotle doesn't exist.

Damn I didn't get a coupon for a free burrito. I got a coupon for free chips and salsa with the purchase of a burrito.

I was happy for that. Now I'm jealous lol.

I live in NY and havent had Chipotle once in my life. If i were to try anything on their menu what would be the most popular choice?

I got one of these mailers a couple days ago.

One coupon for a free burrito, bowl, salad, or order of tacos. One coupon for free chips and salsa with a purchase of any of the aforementioned.

Maybe I'll go there tomorrow.

Chipotle pls. Summer is cutting season. You can't hit us with a BOGO deal in Summer months. That's just cruel.

Winter season, bulking season, hoodies and bench PRs season, that's the time for BOGO.

I'm sorry, but if you go to Chipotle for the first time please do not order the tofu meat substitute unless you're a vegetarian...I can't see how you'd recommend that as a first time order.

Get the carnitas or barbacoa.
