BURBANK, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Principal photography began on July 13th on Warner Bros. Pictures’ “Inception,” being directed by Christopher Nolan (“The Dark Knight”).

Filming got underway in England, with future locations spanning three continents. Principal photography will also be accomplished on locations in Paris, Tangiers, Calgary and Los Angeles.

A contemporary sci-fi actioner set within the architecture of the mind, “Inception” stars multiple Oscar® nominee Leonardo DiCaprio (“Blood Diamond,” “The Aviator”). The international cast also includes Oscar® nominee Ellen Page (“Juno”), Oscar® nominee Ken Watanabe (“The Last Samurai”), Academy Award® winner Marion Cotillard (“La vie en rose”), Joseph Gordon Levitt (“Brick”), Tom Hardy (“RocknRolla”), Cillian Murphy (“Batman Begins”), Oscar® nominee Tom Berenger (“Platoon”) and Academy Award® winner Michael Caine (“The Cider House Rules”).

Nolan also wrote the script and is producing the film with his producing partner Emma Thomas, with whom he most recently teamed on the blockbuster “The Dark Knight.”

The behind-the-scenes creative team includes three-time Oscar®-nominated director of photography Wally Pfister (“The Dark Knight,” “The Prestige,” “Batman Begins”); production designer Guy Hendrix Dyas (“Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull,” “Elizabeth: The Golden Age”); two-time Oscar®-nominated editor Lee Smith (“The Dark Knight,” “Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World”), and Oscar®-nominated costume designer Jeffrey Kurland (“Bullets Over Broadway”). The effects teams are headed up by special effects supervisor Chris Corbould and visual effects supervisor Paul Franklin, who both earned Oscar® nominations for their work on “The Dark Knight.” Academy Award® winner and multiple Oscar® nominee Hans Zimmer (“The Lion King,” “Gladiator”) is composing the score for the film, following his collaboration with Nolan on “The Dark Knight.”

“Inception” will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

Hell yeah!

Edit:

Oscar® nominee Tom Berenger (“Platoon”)

Berenger!

Hans Zimmer without James Newton Howard? Boooooo.

Give David Julyan some work instead.

Tom Berenger already fucking it up for Nolan.:lol

I'm shocked Eric Roberts never leaked Dark Knight details, all that dude does is gossip.

Nolan probably gives Berenger some Major League scripts and then edits his lines so that it fits the movie.

Nolan did the same thing with Roberts. He gave him Best of the Best scripts.

Inception trailer news!!!

http://www.joblo.com/index.php?id=27962

While people continue to whip themselves up into a frenzy over BATMAN 3 and what may or may not be happening with that film, they forget that director Christopher Nolan is filming a project right now. INCEPTION might not have any men in bat suits but Nolan has certainly proved himself as a director worth following no matter what project he's working on. What we know about INCEPTION could fit into a thimble at this point: it stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Joseph Gordon-Levitt (among others) and that it's a "contemporary sci-fi actioner set within the architecture of the mind." But we're about to learn a little bit more about the film.

On August 21st the first teaser trailer for INCEPTION will debut in theaters despite only about a month of filming having been completed. The teaser will debut in front of INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS, just another reason to see Tarantino's latest. I'm still trying to lock down an exact runtime (is it a :20 logo teaser or something more substantial?) but we know we're getting something. Considering how mysterious the production has been thus far, I'm exciting to see if Nolan and his crew have something equally as perplexing planned for the marketing campaign...

http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Inception-Trailer-Debuting-In-Front-of-Inglourious-Basterds-14303.html

Christopher Nolan's Inception is so new and so well-protected, nobody has yet managed to figure out the plot. But rather than keep the mystery going into next year, Nolan is ready to show a bit of his hand-- a trailer
for Inception will be premiering in front of Inglourious Basterds when Quentin Tarantino's new film opens August 21, according to JoBlo.

They have no idea how long the trailer will be, or even if it'll be one of those teases where they just show the logo and leave it at that. No matter what it is, it's surprising that they're doing any promotion for this so early. Do they want the Basterds audience that badly? Are they pulling a Cloverfield-style massive campaign? Any guesses as to why we're getting this unexpected treat?

Sweet, I get to pay $10 dollars for a trailer, and I get to watch the new Quentin Tarantino movie for free.

A trailer this early? So we went from "Small project between Batmans" to "$200 mil budget?!" to "OMG WB TENTPOLE!"

Wait, isn't this Avatar Day? :lol

Civil War GAF!

CHOOSE A SIDE!

It reminds me of how The Dark Knight had a teaser trailer in July 2007 when it started filming in April.

I hope this is online too. I don't particularly want to see Inglourious Basterds, unless maybe I'm bored and friends are going.

I think we knew it was a tentpole from the budget and the release date.

When you've got a $200 million original sci-fi film, it's probably damned wise to start acquainting audiences with it as soon as possible. Unless you're Fox and you do the opposite of what's smart when making all business decisions.

I don't buy for a second that Cameron isn't in the driver's seat when it comes to Avatar's marketing.

Holy shit! 21st? If anything this proves just how much better WB is at marketing. This is like when The Wachowski's out of nowhere announced that the Revolutions trailer would debut on the day the long-anticipated trailer for Return of the King would. Nolan = Denethor.

I have heard of this Cameron, and I tell you I will not bow to this director from the north!

Probably, but Fox still sucks at pretty much everything.

This film will make me have its babies. I will feed them, I will raise them, then they will make me have their babies.

just can't wait for that logo and michael caine voiceover...

Summed up my thoughts. It'll be similar to TDK teaser with no scenes, just voices...

Hell, It'll be similar to Harry Potter teaser with dumbledore saying some useless shit and logo popping up.

To be honest, it is getting a little annoying how like every other gaffer seems to just discovered he looks like Heath Ledger.

And yes, his performance in 500dos is outstanding. The range he moves between in that film, in an ideal world, would be oscar nomination material.

So, the Heath Ledger clone is in this movie ...
More like Ledger was the Gordon-Levitt clone. In the same time frame of their careers Gordon-Levitt shown himself to be a more skilled actor (not to take anything away from Ledger). He is the superior actor.

Give me a fucking break. I like Gordon-Levitt, but GAF hypes him to be some prodigy-actor because the kid is good and hasn't broken out like lesser young actors (see: Laboef).

He is good, no doubt. He was decent in Brick and even Mysterious Skin, but when people start saying he was amazing in bullshit movies like The Lookout you know something is in the koolaid.

He hasn't reached Ledger levels yet.

This, I can agree with you. Coincidentally its against Cheebs' opinion. :lol

I like Shia, but JGL is a much better actor than him.

When compared to Ledger JGL has more great performances. Ledger's great performances (Brokeback and Batman) are better than anything JGL has done so far though.
